π¨ JAMB IS REVIEWING THE UTME β AND THE NEXT EXAMINATION COULD LOOK DIFFERENT!
JAMB has commenced a major review of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with the Board considering greater emphasis on critical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving and life skills.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, said the current UTME format has remained largely unchanged for more than three decades and needs to be examined against the changing demands of tertiary education.
π₯ BUT HERE IS WHAT EVERY JAMB CANDIDATE NEEDS TO KNOW:
β A completely new UTME format has NOT been officially finalised yet.
β JAMB has NOT announced that the current UTME subjects have been cancelled.
β A committee of education experts and stakeholders has been inaugurated to develop recommendations on how the proposed competencies could be assessed. The committee has an initial four-week period to examine the proposal.
So, don't stop your UTME preparation based on social media rumours!
π What exactly could change?
π Will critical thinking become a separate test?
π Will it be included in existing UTME subjects?
π When could any approved changes take effect?
