Crypto: calm before the storm?
The crypto market has been hovering at the same market capitalisation level for some time now, remaining close to $2.86T for the eighth day in a row. However, it is worth noting that since the start of this trading week, price action has been more concentrated at the lower end of the range. We do not yet see this as a sign of a bearish reversal, but rather as growing caution amid uncertainty, which is driving demand for the dollar. Among the most liquid coins over the past 24 hours, the top gainers were IOTA (+7.8%), NEAR (+4.6%) and AAVE (+3.4%). The biggest fallers were Internet Computer (β4.3%), Filecoin (β3.5%) and Ethereum Classic (β1.9%).
Bitcoin has once again failed to hold above $85K, as the upward momentum triggered by weaker-than-expected inflation figures quickly fizzled amid an ongoing sell-off in global government bonds. The leading cryptocurrency is caught between pressure from a strengthening dollar and the desire among some investors to temporarily steer clear of falling assets. The persistence of the bond sell-off is a very worrying sign, capable of triggering a sell-off across all markets almost overnight. It is easy to find periods in history when turmoil in traditional finance has benefited crypto. Still, it is impossible to predict when the market will shift from caution to panic.

The euro has slipped out of its range - FxPro News, Financial Market Analytics
A resilient US economy and higher oil prices support the dollar, while inflation, debt risks and political instability in France weigh on the euro.
πΊπΈ Pre-market trading trends on the US stock market
π A moderately positive trend is prevailing in pre-market trading in the US stock market.
In the Information Technology sector, NVIDIA (NVDA) is up 0.91%, while Intel (INTC) is down 0.48%.
In the Financials sector, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) is down 0.05%, while Bank of America (BAC) is down 0.29%.
In the Consumer Discretionary sector, Amazon (AMZN) is up 0.99%, while in the Consumer Staples sector, Walmart (WMT) is up 0.36%.
In the foreign exchange market, the current picture is consistent with a risk-on environment: the predominance of gains among large-cap technology and consumer companies is sustaining interest in market assets.
Still, it is not generating significant demand for the dollar as a safe-haven asset. Under such conditions, the dollar generally trades with little volatility, while short-term exchange rate fluctuations depend more on expectations regarding Fed interest rates and broader external news flow.

Bitcoin has rallied ahead of the news
The crypto market has risen by 1.4% over the past 24 hours to $2.92T, after briefly peaking at $2.94T as stop orders were triggered at the start of the Asian session. Although the dollar strengthened, the move was driven by a flight from European assets, while the likelihood of an October policy tightening by the Fed continued to decline. This is the fourth consecutive month to start on a positive note, and October is historically a positive month for cryptocurrencies. Having consolidated in recent days, cryptocurrencies may attempt a fresh breakout, surpassing September's highs. Among the most popular coins, the top performers over the past 24 hours were Aave (+11.8%), Aptos (+7.2%) and Litecoin (+4.8%). The worst performers over this period were NEAR Protocol (β5.8%), IOTA (β1.3%) and Cosmos (β1.2%), with the ratio of rising to falling coins close to 3:1.
Bitcoin is attempting to break higher. On Thursday, it failed to hold above $85K, but on Friday morning, it pushed into the $86β87K range, coming close to the highs seen at the start of last week. If successful, the bulls may return to the previous scenario of a Fibonacci impulse extension with potential up to $94K. The release of US labour market statistics could, in theory, either accelerate the rally or reverse the trend. If the report is very strong, markets may once again price in a Fed rate rise in October, reducing demand for risk assets. And Bitcoin may prove to be quite sensitive to this.

Bitcoin has rallied ahead of the news - FxPro News, Financial Market Analytics
The crypto market rose by 1.4% on expectations that the Fed would pause its rate hikes. Bitcoin is testing $86β87K and could target $94K. Support comes from ETF inflows and positive bank forecasts.
The dollar has lost momentum but not strength
The increasing likelihood of a pause in the Fedβs rate-hiking cycle is not preventing the greenback from strengthening.
The US dollar is being supported by rising demand for safe-haven assets due to the fiscal crisis in France.

The dollar has lost momentum but not strength - FxPro News, Financial Market Analytics
The dollar is strengthening on demand for safe-haven assets due to the crisis in Europe, despite the reduced likelihood of a Fed rate rise. The yen may strengthen if the Bank of Japan tightens policy.

πΊπΈ Pre-market trading trends on the US stock market
π Following the release of unemployment figures, the US stock market is showing a positive trend in pre-market trading.
In the Information Technology sector, NVIDIA (NVDA) is up 2.20%, Intel (INTC) is up 2.85%, while Microsoft (MSFT) is up 1.03%.
In the Communication Services sector, Alphabet (GOOGL) is up 0.83%.
In the Consumer Discretionary sector, Amazon (AMZN) is up 1.16%, while in the Consumer Staples sector, Walmart (WMT) is up 0.65%.
In the foreign exchange market, the current risk appetite is supporting interest in US equities but reducing the acute need for the dollar as a safe-haven asset.
The short-term trend for the USD remains subdued. It will largely depend on interest rate differentials and capital flows to other developed markets, rather than on domestic demand for safe-haven assets.
