Making a Ballerina Homopolar Motor, aka Batterina! A homopolar motor is a direct current electric motor with two magnetic poles, the conductors of which always cut unidirectional lines of magnetic flux by rotating a conductor around a fixed axis so that the conductor is at right angles to a static magnetic field.
The challenge with this design is balancing the coil to center on the battery as it rotates.

این خودرو در واقع اولین وسیله‌ی نقلیه‌ی خودران جهان است که توسط مهندس فرانسوی نیکولا ژوزف کاگنوت در سال ۱۷۶۹ اختراع شد.
این خودرو که با بهره از موتور بخار کار میکرده شامل سه چرخ میشده و می‌توانسته با سرعتی در حد ۴ کیلومتر در ساعت حرکت کند.
این وسیله که از آن برای حمل توپ‌های ارتش استفاده میشده، سنگین و کند بوده و برای بارگیری موتور بخار به توقف‌های زیادی نیاز داشته با اینکه چندان همه‌گیر نشد اما از آن به عنوان آغاز تاریخ خودروسازی یاد می‌شود.
