Reminiscent of the #Americold attack, a recent #cyberattack on Dutch logistics supplier caused shelves at the nation's largest grocer to run empty:

Iranian "hacktivists" have claimed credit for a cyberattack on US medical device maker Stryker, remotely wiping employee device and stopping operations. Stryker makes defibrillators and surgical/imaging equipment.
The Iranian hacker collective Handala (mentioned above in recent posts) claims they targeted Stryker in retaliation for US bombing of all-girls school in Iran. They say they have wiped more that 200,000 Stryker systems, servers, and mobile devices and stole 50 terabytes of critical data, forcing Stryker offices in 79 countries to shut down.

OpenAI CEO Altman says it's "totally possible" that there will be "a world shaking cyber attack this year that would get people's attention."
In this nod to Klaus Schwab's "cyberpandemic," we know that this planned attack will be used to justify restricted access to AI systems because they are "simply too powerful to entrust to the public." Altman's other statements about "metered access to AI, like a utility" reinforce that they are heading to this model.
They just need the right crisis to justify it. That crisis is long planned, and coming.

GAO report warns US water and wastewater systems are vulnerable to hackers
As we monitor the cybersecurity / "Iran hackers" space, the GAO just issued a fresh warning that US water infrastructure is largely insecure: old, pre-internet systems without any authentication have been glued with connected components โ and the report claims foreign hackers have already found their way in and attacked, including ransomware attacks.
The report describes how an attack on highly vulnerable critical water infrastructure could cause service disruptions and environmental damage, as well as cripple downstream systems including the power grid, hospitals/healthcare, food & agriculture, and so forth.

Cyberattack on Fairlife shuts down US Milk Production
One of Americaโs leading milk brands (found in 1 in 4 households) has halted ALL US production after a ransomware cyberattack.
Fairlife, owned by Coca-Cola, has taken their systems offline while dealing with the attack. Milk is perishable, and shortages could hit fast if this drags on. (they are still completely offline after 3 days!)
I'd warned that the US food supply was critically vulnerable to cyberattacks, and this would appear to be a prime example of exactly that...

Minnesota: cyberattack on water utilities disrupt water & wastewater supply
A cyberattack, seemingly coordinated across multiple Minnesota communities, disrupted the water supply in Braham, MN. St Paul and its suburbs were also targeted by these "unknown actors." St. Paul's systems were affected, but operators were able to avoid service interruptions.
We've long known that our critical infrastructure is vulnerable to cyberattacks โ and FBI/DHS have been warning all year that these vulnerabilities would soon be exploited. This may serve as a warning...

Israel blames Iran for cyberattack that damaged food processor's cooling systems
Iran has been blamed for a cyber attack on the refrigeration system of an Israeli food processor which reprogrammed the controllers and destroyed the compressors.
An Iranian state-directed persona, Cyber Isnaad Front, deployed remote access software, disguised as a Microsoft update.
Refrigeration engineers were called to the plant when temperatures rose in cold rooms and freezers and found that valves had been reconfigured and passwords changed, locking them out of their own equipment.
The motorized valves were pinned permanently open, venting CO2 to the atmosphere, and destroying three compressors.
Cyberattacks on our food systems have been on the rise this year. Grow those gardens...

Kash Patel "urges vigilance" after water system cyberattacks
They are keeping this narrative in play ...
FBI Director Kash Patel says the FBI is calling on states to report potential threats as investigators look into cyberattacks on American water systems, with a recent advisory suggesting Iranian hackers might be to blame.
Patel said the FBI is operating in eight different states and described the situation as "managed really well" because of the relationship with law enforcement and election officials.
Authorities have not publicly identified the source of cyberattacks that targeted over 30 water systems in Minnesota. However, the late-July attacks came as various authorities warned that Iranian hackers are focused on targeting these kinds of systems.
The FBI, CISA and other agencies issued the advisory, which said Iranian hackers have been targeting water and wastewater systems and "operational controls of other critical infrastructure sectors."

Feds warn [again] of ongoing cyberattacks on controllers (PLCs).
A joint (FBI/NSA/CISA/DOJ/DOE/EPA) advisory has again warned that cyberattacks are targeting the Siemens S7 PLCs used across "critical manufacturing, energy, water & wastewater, chemical, food & agriculture, and commercial facilities."
The advisory specifies "This is not a theoretical riskโit is an active threat" (which feels like LLM to me with the "not an X but Y" and em-dash, but hey ... let's set aside the issue of intelligence agencies using ChatGPT to craft their advisories :-p )
Actors are scanning the internet for exposed/insecure Siemens S7 devices and using AI-generated exploitation scripts to access and control them.
This tracks with the recent attacks on water systems in multiple states recently, and the threat escalation throughout the year, generally blamed on "Iranian hackers" such as Handala. It's been a drip-drip-drip in the mockingbird media which seems to be setting the stage for the WEF's Cyberpandemic.
