🍿 Vampires Unleashed in 'Salem's Lot'!

📆 Release: October 3, 2024
🎭 Genre: #Horror · #Thriller

🎬 Gary Dauberman, the mastermind behind 'Annabelle' and 'It,' brings one of Stephen King's darkest classics back to life: Salem's Lot. This time, we follow Ben Mears, played by Lewis Pullman, as he returns to his hometown, only to find it overrun by vampires led by Kurt Barlow (William Sadler). 🧛‍♂️

Interestingly, this remake has faced multiple delays since 2019 but is finally landing on Max. It promises a mix of nostalgia and chills, making it a must-watch for horror lovers!

🎬 The Lights and Shadows of 'Inside Out 2': The Hit Pixar Needed

🍿 'Inside Out 2' hasn't just been Pixar's biggest success in years; it's shattered records to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, raking in a staggering $1.6 billion at the box office. But behind this triumph lies a less happy story.

💔 Many of the employees who worked tirelessly on the sequel find themselves in a tough spot. After an intense period of crunch—working up to seven days a week—Pixar laid off 14% of its staff, affecting 175 workers who won't benefit from the film's success bonuses.

🛠 There's talk of an excessive reliance on Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter ('Up', 'Inside Out'), which reportedly created bottlenecks in production. Additionally, concerns about self-censorship on LGBTQ+ themes arose, with employees claiming changes were made to make Riley, the protagonist, appear 'less gay'.

🎭 Pixar's internal culture seems to be in crisis, with employees describing an atmosphere of fear around taking risks and low morale among the staff. The layoffs have left many in precarious financial situations, especially in an expensive area like Emeryville, California.

📣 It's worrisome that at a studio which has given us gems like 'Toy Story' and 'Finding Nemo', the creators themselves feel abandoned. While we celebrate the success of 'Inside Out 2', we shouldn't forget the human stories behind the animations that move us so deeply. 🎥❤️

🍿 Robert Pattinson Multiplies Himself in 'Mickey 17', Bong Joon Ho's New Madness

📆 Release: January 31, 2025
🎭 Genre: #ScienceFiction · #DarkComedy

🎟 Bong Joon Ho, the genius behind 'Parasite', returns with 'Mickey 17'. Robert Pattinson multiplies himself, literally!, in this adventure where his character, an 'expendable' (disposable), dies and is cloned over and over again on a mission to colonize an icy planet. 🧊

The most curious thing is the peculiar tone of voice Pattinson has adopted, which already has fans obsessed. Plus, the cast is top-notch: Steven Yeun from 'Minari', Toni Collette from 'Hereditary', and Mark Ruffalo from 'The Avengers'. If 'Parasite' left us speechless, I can't wait to see what Bong brings us this time. 🚀

Adrien Brody makes a powerful return in The Brutalist, where he portrays a Hungarian Jewish architect who emigrates to the U.S. after World War II. His struggle to survive and thrive in a new world intertwines with an architectural aesthetic that, according to director Brady Corbet, reflects the misunderstood and the rejected.

Corbet, who won the Silver Lion at Venice for this work, delivers a 215-minute epic where brutalist design and personal drama collide with history. A film that invites deep reflection. 🎬
