🍿 'Eggland': Adult Swim's New Show That Leaves No One Indifferent

📆 Premiere: August 4, 2024
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Comedy

Adult Swim's latest series, 'Eggland,' follows elderly couple Robert and Elizabeth Anderson as they navigate life in a retirement community. Directed by Conner O’Malley ('Saturday Night Live') and Cole Kush ('Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared'), this show blends the mundane with the surreal. The most interesting part? Modern-day references like self-checkouts and smartwatches from the retirees' perspective add a hilarious touch. The show's sweet ending evokes the charm of 'Up'. The result? An experimental series that might just become a cult classic. 🍳👵👴

🍿 'Terminator Zero': The rebirth of a legend in anime form

📆 Release: August 29, 2024
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #ScienceFiction

After several missteps in cinema, the 'Terminator' franchise reinvents itself with an exclusive anime on Netflix. 'Terminator Zero' takes us to Japan, where a scientist named Malcolm Lee becomes Skynet's target. The big twist is that the story shifts away from the franchise's classic American focus to explore how the war against the machines impacts other parts of the world. The series is a collaboration with Production IG, the studio behind hits like 'Haikyuu!!'. Could this be the resurgence fans have been waiting for? 👾

🍿 The Long-Awaited Disaster: First 'Minecraft' Movie Trailer Drops

📆 Release: 2025
🎭 Genre: #Adventure · #Animation

🎬 Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer for the Minecraft movie, and honestly... it doesn’t look great. The tone feels more like a parody than a tribute to Mojang’s iconic game. The attempt to give it a photorealistic spin on the classic blocky style feels forced, like those mods that cram in ray-tracing where it’s not needed. 🤨

The cast is intriguing: Jason Momoa, Jack Black (as Steve), and Emma Myers (Wednesday). But frankly, it looks like just another CGI spectacle without the magic we were hoping for. Let's hope it surprises us!

🍿 Arcane: The Epic Final Battle Between Jinx and Vi

📆 Release: November 2024
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Action

After dominating with its first season and becoming the first animated series to win an Emmy, Arcane returns for its second and final season. In this new chapter, the war between Piltover and Zaun escalates after Jinx's devastating attack. Key players Vi and Caitlyn are tasked with finding Jinx and dismantling Silco's criminal empire. Fortiche Production's animation is set to push action sequences to unprecedented levels, surpassing even the stunning quality of the first season. 🔥👊

🍿 The Most Anticipated Comeback! Wallace & Gromit: Revenge is Served with Feathers brings back the fearsome Feathers McGraw 📺

📆 Release: January 3, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Adventure · #Comedy

🎟 I can’t contain my excitement to see Wallace and Gromit face off once again against Feathers McGraw, the cleverest penguin in cinema. This time, Wallace creates Norbot, a smart gnome who, under McGraw’s influence, unleashes a true wave of crimes. 🕵️‍♂️🐧

The funniest bits are the humor-packed details: Gromit reading Paradise Lost by John Stilton and witty signs like Yorkshire Border - No Parkin’. Aardman’s stop-motion animation remains a masterpiece, and hearing that iconic melody again brought a tear to my eye. 🎶✨

🍿 'The Bad Guys 2': The Bad Girls Join the Heist!

📆 Release: August 1, 2025
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Action · #Adventure

🎟 Our favorite crew of outlaws is back, and this time they're not alone. In 'The Bad Guys 2', Mr. Wolf and his gang team up with the Bad Girls for one last thrilling heist. 🚀🐺💥

What's most interesting is the addition of Natasha Lyonne ('Russian Doll'), Danielle Brooks ('Orange Is the New Black'), and Maria Bakalova ('Borat Subsequent Moviefilm') to the voice cast. Under the direction of Pierre Perifel, we're in for an animated blend of 'James Bond' and 'Mission: Impossible'. 🎬🔥

And how about that romance between Mr. Snake and one of the Bad Girls? Things are getting interesting! ❤️🐍

If you enjoyed the first one, this sequel promises more action and fun. 🎉🍿

🍿 'Shrek 5': Zendaya Joins the Ogres as Shrek and Fiona's Teenage Daughter 👶 Ogre

📆 Release: December 23, 2026
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Comedy · #Adventure

I'm thrilled to see 'Shrek 5' bringing back Mike Myers ('Austin Powers') and Cameron Diaz ('The Mask'), now joined by Zendaya ('Dune', 'Spider-Man') as their teenage daughter! 😍 The franchise that revolutionized animation in 2001 returns after 16 years.

What fascinates me most is how the characters have evolved: we see Shrek using the Magic Mirror like a smartphone 📱 while his family has grown. Directors Walt Dohrn ('Trolls') and Brad Ableson ('Minions') promise to maintain the irreverent spirit that made this saga great.

This new chapter could explore parenthood from the perspective of Hollywood's most famous ogre. Eddie Murphy ('Beverly Hills Cop') also returns as Donkey, completing this anticipated reunion. Could this installment surpass $1 billion at the box office? 🤑

🍿 Love, Death & Robots Vol. 4: dinosaurs, demons & cats with attitude 🦖🔥🐈

📆 Release: May 15
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #SciFi · #Horror
🍿 Follow Series

Love, Death & Robots is back and as unhinged as ever. Volume 4 drops ten brand-new shorts that go from gladiator T. rexes to fire-breathing demons, grumpy cats, and overworked appliances 🤯. Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Fincher (The Killer, Mindhunter) are once again pushing the limits of what adult animation can be—with Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2) returning as supervising director.

Visually, this is the most diverse volume yet: 2D, stop motion, hyper-stylized CG... it’s all here. I’ll miss the Three Robots, but the spiritual sequel to Night of the Mini Dead looks hilarious. Like always, not every short will hit the same—but when LDR lands, it hits hard.

🍿 Yoshi steps into the spotlight… and Nintendo hits the fan-service accelerator

📆 Release: April 1, 2026
🎭 Genre: #Animation · #Adventure · #Fantasy
✈️ Add to watchlist

First look at Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and the character works 🦖… he doesn’t speak, he just grunts, and that’s the right call. It stays true to the games and avoids turning him into yet another chatty Illumination mascot.

The trailer once again feels more Odyssey than Galaxy, leaning heavily on a parade of references: Birdo, Mouser, babies, power-up suits, a T-Rex… too much at once 🎮

The classic music does peek through, but I still doubt it’ll be respected all the way through 🎶. There’s potential, sure, but also the sense that this franchise may be getting overloaded a bit too fast.
