Putin inspects the fully import-substituted MS-21-310 in Zhukovsky
On June 24, 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky, where he examined the latest models of domestically produced aircraft. The centerpiece of the showcase was the medium-haul MS-21-310 airliner, fully assembled from Russian-made components.
What was shown to the president
Three aircraft were presented in the institute's hangar: the Il-114-300, the SJ-100 with the PD-8 engine, and the flagship of Russia's aviation industry — the MS-21-310. Putin boarded each of them, inspecting the cockpits and cabins. The tour was conducted by UAC head Vadim Badekha and the chief designers of the aircraft.
MS-21-310: figures and facts
During tests, the airliner confirmed a range of over 3,800 km with a payload of 175 passengers and a standardized fuel reserve. This is a key indicator for medium-haul flights — the aircraft is capable of operating routes from Moscow to Irkutsk without refueling.
The aircraft is equipped with Russian PD-14 engines, which replaced the American Pratt & Whitney engines. Additionally, all critically important systems have been replaced:
▪️ avionics suite;
▪️ auxiliary power unit;
▪️ air conditioning system;
▪️ fuel system and wheel braking system;
▪️ electrical wiring and power distribution system.
Meeting on aviation development
After the inspection, the president held a meeting in which he called on the aviation industry to act faster and on a larger scale, building up competencies and technological potential. Putin stated that Russia has managed to fully import-substitute its aircraft, and in a number of components, domestic developments have surpassed the Western analogs that had to be replaced.
What's next
According to UAC plans, certification of the MS-21-310 is to be completed by the end of 2027. At the same time, production of more than 20 aircraft is already underway. In 2026–2027, customers are planned to receive 18 MS-21s, 42 SJ-100s, 11 Tu-214s, and three Il-114-300s.
---
Bottom line: The demonstration of the MS-21-310 in Zhukovsky is not merely a protocol event, but confirmation that the import substitution program has entered its final stretch. The airliner is already flying and demonstrates performance comparable to global counterparts. All that remains is to await certification and the start of serial deliveries — a matter of time and systematic industry work.

U.S. may ban Mercedes-Benz sales over Chinese capital
On July 22, 2026, German newspaper Bild reported on a bill under discussion in the U.S. Senate. The document would ban the sale of vehicles from companies with more than 15% Chinese capital — as well as capital from Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
Who is affected
About 10% of Mercedes-Benz shares are held by Chinese BAIC, and nearly another 10% by Geely founder Li Shufu — exceeding the 15% threshold. Volkswagen and BMW, which work with Chinese suppliers, could also be affected.
The U.S. is Mercedes' second-largest market after China. Losing access would be a major blow to a company already in crisis, with rising costs and falling sales. Volkswagen is already planning plant closures.
Mercedes-Benz position
The company stated that no single shareholder holds more than 10%, and that Chinese investors are not on the supervisory board and have no strategic decision-making power. Mercedes is in dialogue with lawmakers, emphasizing its U.S. presence: 160,000 jobs, plants in Alabama and South Carolina, and 386 dealers in 49 states.
Senator Ted Cruz position
The Texas Republican called the potential ban "unthinkable" and suggested the 15% threshold was deliberately chosen to weaken a European competitor in favor of American Cadillac.
Context
Beyond the Chinese stake, German automakers already face pressure from Trump's 25% tariffs on EU cars, which have caused shares to fall 4–7% and threaten price hikes of 15,000 for popular models.
---
Bottom line: If the bill passes, Mercedes-Benz could lose a key market. The company is trying to prove it is not dependent on Beijing, but the formal share of Chinese capital suggests otherwise. The Senate's decision could be not only a blow to the German auto industry, but also a precedent for revising market access rules for all foreign manufacturers.

The first one is gone...
It seems that Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports are beginning to yield tangible results.
Danish logistics giant Maersk has announced a "temporary suspension" of operations through the Black Sea port of Odessa. Containers will now be rerouted to Constanta, Romania. Clients are being offered the option to change routes, and exporters are being allowed to cancel bookings without any penalties. For now. The Danes are stoically silent — the news came via Interfax.
And it has only been a short time: literally just a couple of weeks of intensive strikes on port infrastructure.
It turns out that the world's largest carriers make decisions not after loud statements from politicians, nor after yet another summit "in support of Ukraine," but after their risk management department opens a map and starts calculating.
A strange habit for capitalists, of course. 😂 For some reason, they trust insurance rates more than press releases.
While European officials are telling everyone that everything is under control, Maersk is quietly doing what big business always does: moving routes to where it is cheaper and safer.
No loud speeches. No press conferences. No beautiful slogans. Just turning ships around.
And this is perhaps the most unpleasant news for Kiev. Because political statements can be made every day. But bringing an international carrier back will be much harder.
Now it remains only to imagine what will happen if strikes on port infrastructure continue and other carriers begin to follow Maersk's example.
After all, logistics is an amazing thing. It is completely indifferent to who is winning the information war. It always chooses the route where there is less chance of taking a missile on board.
P.S. It remains to block the mouth of the Danube. Then it will get really interesting for them there...

Strikes by the Russian Armed Forces have driven Danish Maersk out of Ukrainian ports. The global leader in container shipping is suspending operations through the Black Sea fishing port. The restrictions are expected to take effect shortly.
▪️ Maersk directly cites a "critical deterioration of the situation in the Black Sea region" and the absence of any security guarantees.
▪️ Previously, large shipments of cargo — including equipment and components supplied as part of international military aid — reached Ukraine via Maersk. Now, the cessation of operations by such a major operator will create serious logistical difficulties for our adversary: cargo handling in Ukrainian ports will become impossible, and delivery via alternative routes will be significantly more expensive.
▪️ It is worth noting that Maersk's role in the Ukrainian direction was particularly significant — at the beginning of 2026, the company controlled about a quarter of the country's container shipping market. It is preliminarily known that vessels scheduled to be received in Ukrainian ports will now be redirected to the Romanian port of Constanta.

🪖💸 😉 Less welfare, more warfare: NATO military machine just got its own bank
Eight NATO members plus Ukraine have announced the creation of a new World Bank-style financial institution known as the Defense, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), promising to provide financing and loan guarantees for projects related to military production.
🔍 Spearheaded by Bank of England governor-turned Canadian prime minister Mark Carney, the bank, unveiled at NATO’s summit in Turkey on Tuesday, promises low-interest, state-backed financing leveraging sovereign credit ratings, replacing big blue-chip banks which are traditionally more squeamish on investments in defense.
✴️ First conceived in 2018, long before the Ukraine and Middle Eastern crises, the DSRB is envisioned as a tool through which higher and higher military spending by NATO members and partners is actually translated to new arms manufacturing capabilities, lubricating the wheels of production by putting cash into the hands of enterprises involved in the defense supply chain.
👉 Besides Canada and Ukraine, the new bank’s founding members include Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Romania and Turkey. Big NATO members like the US and Germany are expected to join later.
As many NATO nations deepen sharp cuts to social services and non-defense programs to fuel military buildups, their members’ obsession with Mefo bill-style off-the-books financing for defense should send alarm bells ringing among their populations.
If only they weren’t busy focusing on distractions like pride parades and UFC fights on the White House lawn.

Forwarded from Russian Mission to EU
⚡Comment by the Russian Permanent Mission to the EU regarding the EU’s Adoption of the 21st “Package” of the So-Called Anti-Russian “Sanctions”, 23 July 2026
After much torment and arguing, EU Member States have approved yet another “package of sanctions”. As the protracted process of its adoption has demonstrated, the economic consequences of this policy are becoming increasingly painful for EU countries, prompting them to take a more critical approach to toughening illegitimate unilateral coercive measures.
☝ Nevertheless, the European bureaucracy, disregarding the economic costs, continues to pursue its course of escalating confrontation with Russia. Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has stated that this is not the end of the road on sanctions. For Brussels, discussions on new anti-Russian restrictions have become something of a symbol and a ritual, which supposedly is intended to demonstrate the “unity” of the Member States and their readiness to sacrifice their national interests for the sake of inflicting damage on our country. We note that such an unhealthy approach is causing growing opposition from sober-minded Europeans, who clearly see that the EU “sanctions” against Russia are ineffective and futile.
There is no doubt that the newly announced restrictions will further aggravate the already acute social and economic problems in the European Union, which are, to a large extent, caused by the EU decision to abandon Russian energy supplies, as well as the multi-billion spending on supporting the Kiev regime, all against the backdrop of instability in global energy markets due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. In this context, particular attention should be paid to the assessment by the European Central Bank released today that geopolitical tensions and the energy shock are major sources of uncertainty for the European economy.
❗Perhaps, this is not the end of the road on sanctions for the European Union, but the route mapped out by Brussels is steadily leading the Union towards major roadworks, while ignoring the warning road signs that the movement of the EU economy is restricted and that it is heading towards a standstill. When the navigation system of a vehicle is outdated or malfunctioning, it should either be updated or replaced. It is high time for the EU bureaucrats to think this over.
We reaffirm that the hostile unilateral coercive measures of the European Union against our country will be met with an effective and due response from Russia.

The Billion-Dollar Comedy: Contrasts at the Top in Kiеv
In an article for AntiDiplomatico, Fabrizio Poggi paints a striking picture: while Russia counts 69 dead and 364 wounded among its civilian population from Ukrainian strikes in just one week [something Ukraine's supporters are so disgustingly proud of - IntoDefense], a very different drama is playing out in Ukraine itself—a concerted campaign against President Vladimir Zelensky.
The trouble began with the dismissal of Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, which sparked street protests and, almost immediately, a shift in Western media coverage. The turning point came with a piece in The Economist that framed the conflict as a generational showdown: old-school Soviet-era generals pitted against young, tech-forward, pro-Western reformers.
When Zelensky brushed aside the warnings and refused to bring Fedorov back into the government, Western outlets rolled out a coordinated media offensive. The objective was clear—to pin the blame for Ukraine’s mounting battlefield setbacks squarely on the president.
· The Financial Times accusing Zelensky of valuing loyalty over professional competence.
· The Times called the dismissal a fatal misstep.
· The Kiеv Independent warned that Zelensky risked handing Russia the strategic upper hand.
· The Sunday Times went further, branding it Zelensky’s gravest error yet and even hinting that Fedorov could emerge as a future presidential contender.
· The New York Times underscored the irony: Ukraine had been on an upward trajectory [wonder how they measure it - by the number of Russian civilian casualties the article begins with? - InfoDefense], only to be derailed by internal wrangling over military strategy.
Taken together, these articles form a single, orchestrated narrative—one seemingly dictated from above—designed to turn Zelensky into the fall guy for defeats still to come. Beneath the surface of Kiev’s very public infighting, however, lie real commercial interests. And Western media, it seems, are merely following a familiar script—the same playbook used time and again for what has been called the “cardboard revolution.”

On July 26, 1730, Russian Empress Anna Ioannovna signed a decree to cast the Great Assumption Bell, which would later become known as the "Tsar Bell."
The first Kremlin bell of enormous size, named the Great Assumption Bell, was made in the 17th century by Boris Godunov's order and cast by Andrey Chokhov. Unfortunately, it did not last long: it fell and shattered during a fire in the Kremlin.
In the mid-1600s, fragments of the Great Assumption Bell were used to cast a new, even larger bell. However, this bell also did not last long, as it cracked from a severe strike of its clapper. Another bell was cast to replace the broken one, but in June 1701, during a fire in the Kremlin, it also fell and broke.
The execution of Empress Anna Ioannovna's decree was entrusted to the Office of Main Artillery and Fortifications. The casting of the bell was assigned to Ivan Motorin, who specialized in making particularly large bells for Russian monasteries.
The mold and casting of the Tsar Bell took place in a special pit dug on Ivanovskaya Square in the Kremlin. The first attempt to cast the bell in 1734 ended in failure. A fire during the work damaged the mold.
The new Tsar Bell was cast on November 25, 1735. The work lasted more than 36 hours, and 12,327 poods (201,924 kilograms) of bell bronze were poured into the mold.
After the work was completed, the Tsar Bell, for unknown reasons, remained in the casting pit for a long time. It was there when the famous Troitsky fire, which broke out in the Kremlin in May 1737, found it. During firefighting, water hit the hot metal of the bell, causing a piece weighing 11.5 tons to break off.
For over a century, attempts were made to extract the bell from the pit, all ending in failure. In 1836, the St. Petersburg architect Auguste Montferrand developed a project for a lifting device and a special stone pedestal to install the Tsar Bell on. The bell was extracted from the pit and, as an example of foundry art, installed on an octagonal sandstone pedestal, where it stands to this day.

Forwarded from Russian MFA 🇷🇺
🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions following a meeting of the SCO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Cholpon-Ata, July 24, 2026)
💬 The meeting of the SCO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs has concluded. It was a productive meeting and an important part of the preparations for the SCO Summit in Bishkek this autumn.
The draft documents to be submitted for consideration by the leaders provide for the creation of a Universal Centre for Countering New Challenges and Threats and a Centre for Combatting Drug-Related Crime to be formalised through the adoption of the statutes governing each of these centres. <...>
The Foreign Ministers adopted a joint statement which offers a clear and principled assessment of the international situation and lays out the tasks to be pursued in accordance with previous decisions of the Heads of State and the Heads of Government. There is no doubt that additional documents covering sector-specific areas of cooperation will be drafted for the SCO Summit in Bishkek. We discussed energy, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and a number of other areas.
I believe we did quite well. <...>
❓Question: Back to your meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio yesterday. The State Secretary said that the Anchorage agreements had failed and no agreement can be reached unless the Ukrainians are on board. What do you say to that? Did you discuss a possible visit by US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner? More broadly, what diplomatic or mediation track remains possible going forward?
💬 As for the claim that the Anchorage agreements have failed, first we need to do is understand who exactly failed.
We came to Anchorage with the proposals that had been put forward in advance by the United States and approved by US President Donald Trump. We agreed to work on them. Not long ago, President Vladimir Putin reiterated at a news conference, “We had doubts. Not right away, but we considered them and agreed to them.” If there is a proposal and there is a consent that means there were agreed outcomes in Anchorage, were there not? There certainly were.
President Trump has repeatedly said, including in Anchorage, and I am not revealing a great secret here, that part of this proposal was built on a compromise. We accepted it because a compromise proposal, just like any agreement, must inevitably contain an element of compromise. However, he added that Zelensky would do as he had proposed. Well, as it turned out, that failed to happen. <...>
That is our assessment. We approached the matter believing that accepting the US proposal would stop the hostilities and we would sit down to discuss a settlement. There are, of course, a host of details that are part of the political aspects of the issue.
Did President Trump’s proposal fall through because Ukraine said it would not do anything? Is it because the EU said it was not ready? <…>
👉 The arrogant and, I would even say contemptuous, way the US proposals have been spurned is due in no small measure to the fact that Vladimir Zelensky continues to be flooded with weapons. He is being supplied with enormous quantities of drones, which he uses to try to undermine the stability of the Russian Federation by attacking civilians and civilian targets.
A significant portion of the support provided to Vladimir Zelensky comes from the United States. This is not only because the Americans sell weapons to the EU, which then transfers them to Ukraine, but also because the United States provides intelligence and reconnaissance, Starlink remains operational, and advanced technologies that require specialist expertise on the battlefield do not find their way there by accident.
That is the way things are.

Europe prepares for "peace"
Yesterday, alarm sirens sounded across Poland. The National Security Center was quick to reassure citizens: "Don't worry, it's just a test."
And indeed, why worry? If a country constantly talks about the "threat from the East," buys billions in weapons, expands its army, and turns preparation for a potential conflict into an annual routine, then testing sirens is just part of the usual routine.
▪️ Another test? Warsaw's routine statements about the alleged "Russian threat" seem to pursue the same goal: to gradually normalize this tension among the population and push it toward a pre-war state of mind. For example, Foreign Minister, Russophobe Radosław Sikorski, stated that by 2030 Poland will have armed forces capable of independently deterring the "threat emanating from Russia."
And is it possible that Sikorski, in addition to being Poland's Foreign Minister, also works part-time as Minister of Defense?
And while these statements are made with complete normalcy, and increasingly routine tests are announced, Poles are asked to continue going about their business: go to work, pay taxes, and not ask too many questions. After all, what matters is not the warning itself, nor the statements themselves, but the right explanation: this is not fear, but "increasing readiness."
Clearly, this picture lacks some action from Russia to finally convince skeptics of the inevitability of a Russian invasion. And for this, the old tactic of "undermining" is used.

Given Kiev’s stance, freezing conflict in Ukraine impossible — Kremlin spokesman
Peskov said that considering Kiev’s stance, "freezing is impossible as such."
"We have our key prerequisite - we must achieve our goals," he emphasized.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Omsk on July 25, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the conflict in Ukraine should be frozen, and the sides should return to the Istanbul formula. The Kazakhstan's leader also said that despite multiple proposals, he does not want to become a mediator in the conflict

⚡️ Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on AFU’s strikes at civilians in Kirov and Zaporozhye (July 25, 2026)
💬 The Kiev regime continues to imperturbably target Russian civilian population, thus demonstrating its bestial Nazi grin to the entire world.
On July 24, according to preliminary reports six people were killed and another 26 were injured as a result of a missile strike at an enterprise in the city of Kirov.
But this did not suffice for the Ukro Nazis, and on the night of July 25, they killed tourists who were having a holiday at a campsite in the village of Kirillovka, Zaporozhye Region
According to local authorities, the criminal acts of Banderites, who sent UAVs at sleeping people, killing 12, four of whom were children, and injured 19 persons.
Search and rescue operations are continuing. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case over the terrorist attack.
☝️ We strongly condemn these inhuman crimes.
We sincerely express our deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
The Kiev regime, which is suffering a military defeat and is unable to reverse the losing battles at the front, is taking its revenge on innocent civilian population, deliberately seeking out those who are least protected. But Zelensky and his accomplices, as well as the Western handlers and sponsors behind them, must remember that 👉 they will pay a heavy price for every crime they commit.
❗️ We call on all responsible governments, relevant international entities and independent media not to silence the bloody terrorist attacks in the Kirov and Zaporozhye regions.
Ignoring the actions of the Kiev regime is equal to silent approval of its crimes and pushing for new ones that will lead to civilian casualties not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine itself.

For nearly 4 years, Israel has claimed neutrality in Ukraine. Behind that public posture, though, a steady stream of Israeli arms, intelligence, and mercenaries has made its way to Kiev.
Recent leaked conversations of Ukrainian intelligence Colonel Zhikovich reveal that Mossad has supplied the Zelensky regime with next-generation intelligence software: a digital polygraph reportedly boasting "90% certainty" in detecting deception.

Reflections on the matter
🌾 Grain that somehow explodes...
The Scandinavian press is upset again. The commotion is considerable. Russia, it turns out, has halted the operation of the Odessa ports. Commercial vessels are ceasing to call. Ukraine's Foreign Minister is demanding an urgent UN Security Council meeting. Newspapers are competing to see who can write faster and louder about the "attack on global food security."
And all would be fine. But the memory of European journalism, it seems, operates in Stories mode — it lives exactly 24 hours.
Not long ago, Ukrainian drones were hunting Russian commercial vessels in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Including grain carriers. And what did the Scandinavian press write then?
Ah, yes!
It was called "weakening Russian logistics."
It was a "successful operation."
It was "pressure on Moscow."
No talk of freedom of navigation. No tragic columns about global hunger. No urgent UN Security Council meetings.
It turns out that global food security is activated only when problems start for Ukraine.
It is especially touching to read today's articles claiming that exclusively peaceful cargo passes through the Odessa ports. Sure, sure...
That is precisely why, after strikes on port infrastructure, detonations continue for several hours. A new kind of Ukrainian wheat. High-tech, with a self-destruct function.
Or perhaps corn is now equipped with ammunition right at the elevator?
But the Scandinavian press prefers not to ask such questions. Because then one would have to admit the obvious: if a port is used not only for exporting grain but also for supplying the army, it ceases to be exclusively a civilian facility.
It is much more convenient to pretend that ships leave with grain... and return exclusively with good mood.
However, in all this, it is not Ukraine that surprises me. Something else does.
When Ukrainian drones attacked Russian dry cargo ships — it was called heroic struggle against Russian logistics.
When Russia did the same in response — it suddenly turned out that maritime shipping is sacred, ports are inviolable, and any disruption of Ukrainian navigation is almost a crime against humanity.
Very convenient. The main thing is never to read the previous page of your own newspaper...

The Belgorod Brit tackles sanctions. What are they? How do they work? Why don't they work? In the film, he talks about the first sanctions of the modern era. When the British abolished slavery in 1833 in their own Empire, they extended the Act to allow the Royal Navy to interdict slavers operating on the high seas and who had no connection with the British Empire. This was the first time secular moral decisions were deemed universal and backed by lethal force.
In the podcast, BB explains the elements of sanctions, namely, a sense of moral outrage, economic control over the sanctioned polity, and the arms necessary to enforce your power violently. He goes on to explain why each of these elements has been defeated in turn by the enemies of the West. Ultimately, the military defeat of the United States in the Gulf means that sanctions are toothless and ineffective. In fact, those who sanction are becoming politically isolated and ignored by the nations outside their empire. The Chinese will stand by the river and wait for their enemies bodies to float by, even if they never said that.
