In the end, military people need strong, inspiring leadership, and a just cause they are willing to suffer for, activity, and effective logistics to allow them to carry on their mission, which is clearly defined. The Orthodox Church has returned the favour by naming the Ukrainian elites and their Western masters as fascists, and a force for evil. In effect, they have painted the Russian soldiers, of all faiths, as God's right hand. This has also created a common bond between the Iranian struggle against the hegemon and the Russian struggle to free the good people of Eastern Ukraine. He goes on to analyse why the Catholic Church cannot pretend to represent Western righteousness, or concepts of a just war, outside of Poland.

In the podcast, BB goes further into the world inhabited by these men and why their project made perfect sense at the time, and why many contemporary politicians from all across Western Europe were willing to be part of it. BB reveals that the real dream of a common European home has much more in common with the Europe of Erasmus and the Renaissance than with any Communist plan. It was a project to revive a Europe before the Reformation, that could stand toe-to-toe with other powers and political ideas prominent at the time. It was an overt attempt to reimagine Europe as an orchestra playing the same tune.

In the film, he introduces us to Arminius, the proto-German, who tempted the Roman General Varus and his 3 Legions into the forests across the River Rhine and annihilated them. Arminius was a Romanized tribal leader, who learned enough about the Romans to defeat them.

In the podcast, BB goes into the psychological effect of the defeat on the elites of the Roman Empire, and their subsequent loss of confidence. Coupled with the transition to the imperial system and the rise of the court over the Senate, this defeat was the final nail in the meritocracy that had served Roman interests for the previous five centuries. Now it was proximity to the Emperor that afforded promotion. As a result, the elite families of Rome lost interest in the project and began to loot their own Empire. Even though the Iran debacle is only the latest in a string of military defeats for the American Empire, it may prove to be the moment when ordinary Americans stop believing in the project, and realise that elite power is now all about personal enrichment and proximity to the Emperor. If the Senate cannot impeach the President, or members of his regime, then the final nail will have been hammered into the coffin of the American experiment.

He was a pain in the arse for all those who disagreed with his principled stand on property, based on his interpretation of the Holy Bible. He managed to make enemies of the Royalists by fighting with the Parliamentarians in the British Civil Wars, and then fell out with his former deputy Commander, Oliver Cromwell. He even fell out with his supporters over how far to take the idea that God gave the land to all the people, not just a few. He revived the idea that land belonged to those who use it, and the only landlord was God himself. Gerrard Winstanley went further than Lilburn, who believed that land should belong to the organised communities that dwelt there, by claiming all the land was free to use for the benefit of all.

In the podcast, BB goes into the principles of ownership, and how much of past processes are still relevant today. William the Conqueror declared that all of Britain belonged to him - a situation that persists to this day. The King grants title to you as the landlord, but he retains the right to take it away. In the USA, land was stolen by force and trickery, or by the old principles espoused by Lilburn and Winstanley. If you have the ability to defend it, then it is yours. Good luck!

The LoN was set up to prevent WW2, and to enforce standards and norms for conflicts it could not prevent. The British wanted a colonial police force payed for by the colonies themselves, the USA wanted it to protect trade and allow them to enforce 'rules' where necessary, the French wanted an international LoN peace-keeping force which would force rogue countries to bend to their will, and everyone else wanted them to bugger off and leave everyone alone.

In the podcast, BB explains why the UN is an extension of the LoN but with an idealogical bent, why Netanyahu is right to call them moral cowards (and why he should be happy that they are), why the UN is in New York even though the USA doesn't pay for it, and why it is as doomed to failure as its predecessor. The Belgorod Brit explains the IMF and the World Bank. In the film, he introduces us to the CEOs running both institutions. The WB has always been staffed by the corporations and the bankers based on Wall Street. Every leader of the WB has had a background in US corporations since its inception. The IMF has drawn its staff from European elites. Both organisations are based on meritocratic systems of promotion, which in turn is attained by towing the line and promoting the interests of independent businesses and their owners.

In the podcast, BB explains how these organisations have adapted since their origins in the Bretton Woods agreement of 1944, and through the crises of the early 1970s, and the role played by the World Economic Forum, an organisation set up to staff the EU, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He explains where they take their funding from, and why their policies are directed against those states they regard as 'rogue' players, who want to run their own finances. No one institution runs the other, rather, they all compliment each other's work, as they are all staffed by people trained to understand the world in the same way. They work together because they think alike. Free market fundamentalism should be thought of in religious terms. This is not so much about finance, as it is about maintaining the stability of the Western model of global hegemony.

The Belgorod Brit differentiates between natural and man-made famine. What will happen when the food runs out, or becomes too expensive to buy for the masses? In the film, he describes the Great Irish Famine of 1739-1741. Nearly half a million people lost their lives due to unseasonably cold weather. The reaction of the authorities was to pull together to relieve the hunger, and the rich and the middle classes united in their efforts to save lives, regardless of politics or religion.

In the podcast, BB recounts the other Irish famine of the 1840s. What started as a natural catastrophe was compounded by political and financial machinations. Irish landlords saw it as a way to rid themselves of 'useless eaters' in favour of an expansion of cash crops and animal husbandry for export. In Westminster, the Tories, who believed their duty lay in managing the people over whom God had given them control, gave way to the Liberal Whigs, who believed that markets were a form of providential control and that the famine was God's punishment for the heretics and the indigent.

What will happen when the resources necessary to feed our societies become scarce or too expensive? Will we come together and help each other, or will we see it as a way to cut away the deadwood. BB knows what our ruling classes think, but he is not sure what you think.

The Belgorod Brit speaks about the idea of 'quiet revolution'. Can change be affected without resorting to extreme violence and revolution? In the film, he talks about the separation between the political elites and those whom they are said to represent - the ordinary people. If our leaders no longer listen to the popular voice, what is the point of engaging in the political system at all?

In the podcast, BB explains how the British establishment managed to avoid violent revolution, from the loss of the American colonies to the present day. The owners of the world's first industrial power were remarkably flexible. With the concept of divine kingship disposed of in 1688, the British oligarchs were able to move political life to the debating chamber of Parliament. For most of the educated population, who were becoming wealthier by the day, even the semblance of democracy was enough to satisfy their morals. As different strata of society became assertive of their rights, they were subsumed into the elites, corrupted, or chased off to the colonies. However, the politically active middle classes were the engines of change. Their pressure achieved the abolition of slavery, child labour and capital punishment, and created social and medical care for the sick and vulnerable, public sanitation and legal equality, as well as a sense of justice and progress. If the middle classes can regain their grip on power, they may yet save what is left of their cultures. If they don't, they may have to start from scratch, building from the rubble of the old order.

He talks about how these financial shenanigans, and the lack of regulation by a political establishment who are invested in the fraud, is reducing confidence in the system, and the value of the economy, as well as draining cash from the middle classes.

In the podcast, BB explains the concept of kayfabe, and how every part of our government, education, and economics has become performative. In kayfabe, the wrestlers agree on the outcome before they perform the bout. During the show, they are risking real injuries, and are physically acting out the story in front of the audience. In the political version of kayfabe, the physical act is increasingly rare. The mad Emperor doesn't seem to care whether the public see through the performance or not, and the narrative for everyone else has become the performance. Fake politics is swallowed by the masses for lack of an alternative. Even the new 'right' are faking it. The lies are now so implausible, that even the dimmest sycophants are starting to doubt.

The Belgorod Brit talks about the possibility of change in a politically repressive society. In the film, he introduces us to three total pains in the arse, William Cobbett, Henry Hunt, and Richard Carlile. In the late 1810s, Britain had just been through 20 years of war, was suffering from economic depression, social dislocation, high rents, tariffs on imports, high food prices, and the impoverishment of its ex-servicemen and war-wounded, as well as an epidemic of petty theft and alcoholism that threatened violent revolution. The oligarchs were getting richer exponentially as the poor suffered, and had a stranglehold on Parliament and the law, dominated the judiciary and weaponised the militias to protect their property and privileges. Only 11% of men had the vote, and they were using the Treason Act of 1817 (an update of Sedition Act of 1661) to imprison anyone who they deemed to be troublesome, and for even mild criticism of public policy. They also used it to fine publishers out of business. Against all of this, our three heroes refused to back down on their principles.

In the podcast, BB explains what those principles were. They included universal suffrage, the right to a fair trial, the protection of women and children, and the right to free speech. Their argument was morally pure, and genuinely popular. In time, all of these ideas were taken up by British society as causes, some of which were enacted into enforced law. BB makes the point that when the government is at its most authoritarian, it is, in fact, desperate for a way out. As the crisis builds, and the masses start to become unruly, their fear dictates their actions, as they know that the current situation cannot continue. This is when new political movements are at their most potent.

The Belgorod Brit discourses on oligarch shenanigans. In the film, he puzzles over the apparent economic illiteracy of the people that own the West. It seems like they are busy slaughtering the goose that lays the golden egg. Mr. Bezos doesn't appear to realise that by impoverishing his workforce and paying the bare minimum of taxes, he is destroying the economy from which he makes his money. Meanwhile, Putin appears unwilling to acknowledge the stupidity of Western businessmen and their pet politicians. He stubbornly clings to the idea that rational self-interest will win out in the end - at some point, the West will come to its senses and remove the baby before throwing out the bathwater.

In the podcast, BB bemoans the collapsed standards of the oligarchy. Back in the day, businessmen understood the connection between statecraft, governance, and the market. Every time investors were carried away with bubble fever, the government would enact regulations which would protect the market and the welfare of the people upon whom the system relied. Now that the government is in the pocket of the oligarchs, there are no regulations, no protections, and no governance. The AI bubble may well be the crisis that finishes the Western financial model, once and for all. The problem is that it may well cause a catastrophe large enough to bring on the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

The Belgorod Brit is in a storytelling mood. In the film, he concocts a fable about a predatory wild bear and its cubs that has become used to bullying sustenance from the peaceful population. In the story, the householder tools up to defeat the predation of the bear, without being able to destroy it outright.

In the podcast, BB explains the story as a way to view this moment in the demise of the last of the European empires. While the Empire has been thwarted in its ambition, its influence is still substantial. Other than its willingness to murder innocents, it still has the power to bribe willing leaders to do its bidding. Just because the Empire is evil, it doesn't make all those who fight the Empire good. With the truth about the West now being revealed in Gaza, Washington, and Saudi Arabia, people everywhere, including in the West, are becoming outraged. This has stimulated a broad critique of the whole Western system on every level. It is a short mental step from discovery of the problem, to various solutions being put forward. Fundamental values are being rediscovered. As the situation worsens, the calls for change will become a deafening roar. Let's hope that the barbarians can bring their house to order before their elites bring the temple down on all our heads.
