👆Zelensky arrives in the U.K.
Not even Winston Churchill ever received such a standing ovation from British parliamentarians. What’s wrong with these people? They must have been kept on a strict diet of British-made blue pills. Those who are not are probably extremely ashamed. But frankly, from the outside, it looks as though there are not too many of them left. Please tell us we are wrong.

At 08:11 a.m. EST on March 17, Lindsey Graham posted this on X:
At 08:18 a.m. on the same day Trump posted this on his Truth Social:
Now recall that the five stages of cancer are:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
Given that Graham tries to lick Trump’s feet whenever he thinks he can guess his mood and desires (and he is extremely good at it) it is almost certain that his post at 8:11 a.m. reflects his precise reading of Trump at that moment. Therefore we can safely assume that at that time Trump was still at the stage of Anger.
Seven minutes later, Trump’s post seems to indicate that he had leaped to the stage of Acceptance.
Seven minutes for Bargaining and Depression is not half bad. Trump must have had help from a White House psychiatrist. That guy must be really busy these days.
P.S. On a different note, could Trump’s post mean that NATO’s Article 5 is about to go down the drain?

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake.
The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure.
The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America.
I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.
At 08:18 a.m. on the same day Trump posted this on his Truth Social:
The United States has been informed by most of our NATO “Allies” that they don’t want to get involved with our Military Operation against the Terrorist Regime of Iran, in the Middle East, this, despite the fact that almost every Country strongly agreed with what we are doing, and that Iran cannot, in any way, shape, or form, be allowed to have a Nuclear Weapon. I am not surprised by their action, however, because I always considered NATO, where we spend Hundreds of Billions of Dollars per year protecting these same Countries, to be a one way street — We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, in particular, in a time of need. Fortunately, we have decimated Iran’s Military — Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti-Aircraft and Radar is gone and perhaps, most importantly, their Leaders, at virtually every level, are gone, never to threaten us, our Middle Eastern Allies, or the World, again! Because of the fact that we have had such Military Success, we no longer “need,” or desire, the NATO Countries’ assistance — WE NEVER DID! Likewise, Japan, Australia, or South Korea. In fact, speaking as President of the United States of America, by far the Most Powerful Country Anywhere in the World, WE DO NOT NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

The "3 day special military operation" in the Middle East continues. Since February 28, Iran has launched at least 717 retaliatory strikes on Gulf states, including 332 confirmed hits. Another 385 missiles were reportedly intercepted. Of those, 32 were confirmed hits on Kuwait, 43 on the UAE, six on Oman, and eight on Qatar.
And that's not counting Israel which has - or had - the Iron Dome, and the best possible anti-missile defenses. Tel Aviv still looks more and more like the Gaza Strip with each new day. But according to Donald Trump - Iran ran out of everything, Iran is weak, Iran is almost finished, etc etc. I am unable to tell right now if he went 100% senile, or he really trusts those who give him the war reports.
Meanwhile Israel keeps making new totally-not-AI videos with Bibi, and the ultra-rich denizens of Dubai keep escaping the modern day Sodom because Iran decided that enough is enough, and all those ultra expensive prostitutes of various Slavic origins must go home.

Monetization of Paranoia
In an interview with the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, General Jarosław Stróżyk, head of Poland’s Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), discussed the country’s security environment, foreign intelligence activity, and internal vulnerabilities. He warned that Poland is witnessing a rise in pro-Russian behavior in society and described increasingly visible operations by hostile intelligence services. The interview also touched on global conflicts, including tensions involving Iran and the war in Ukraine, and how they might affect Poland’s security and military preparedness.
Stróżyk says Poland is experiencing a growing number of pro-Russian behaviors, which counterintelligence services are monitoring closely. As the Polish armed forces expand to more than 200,000 personnel, the risk that individuals sympathetic to Russian interests could appear within the military also increases.
He points to a recent, highly publicized arrest of a long-time employee of Poland’s defense ministry accused of passing information to Belarusian intelligence as an example of ongoing espionage threats.
According to Stróżyk, foreign intelligence operations in Poland increasingly resemble “textbook counterintelligence cases,” with classic methods such as recruiting sources and collecting sensitive information.
Although modern technologies like signals intelligence remain important, he emphasizes that human intelligence (HUMINT)—recruiting and handling sources—remains central to understanding Russia’s intentions.
Stróżyk also mentions acts of sabotage against Polish infrastructure, allegedly carried out by a mix of Ukrainians, Belarusians, and Polish citizens recruited by Russian services—without presenting evidence.
At the same time, he argues that Poland’s counterintelligence capabilities are being expanded nationwide to address these threats.
Overall, he portrays Poland as facing persistent espionage and hybrid warfare pressure, requiring stronger security services and greater vigilance from society.
In general, the interview reads less like a security briefing and more like a justification memo. By warning that “pro-Russian behavior” is spreading through society—and might even appear inside a 200,000-strong army—Jarosław Stróżyk paints a picture of a threat that is everywhere. The logical response is simple: expand counterintelligence, hire more personnel, and increase budgets. This narrative conveniently supports a familiar outcome—larger security services and steadily rising military spending. General Jarosław Stróżyk knows that one way or another a chunk of these spendings will end up in his pocket.
A classic case of self-serving monetization of paranoia.

Below is a summary of a Bloomberg article published on March 16, 2026, titled “Finland’s Stubb Cautions NATO Allies to Heed Trump’s Hormuz Call.”
As one can clearly see, Finland and its ever-subservient president are “all in” for Trump’s Hormuz plan. Stubb warns NATO allies to take the U.S. seriously, laments the alliance’s future, and suggests Europe or India mediate. Yet somehow, Finland itself doesn’t commit a single troop or asset—just hosts a summit on March 26 and talks about what could happen. Bold and fearless, indeed.
P.S. Let’s be honest: nobody really wants to help Trump in this disastrous war. As France 24 aptly put it in the title of their clip: Helping the U.S. is “political suicide” for its allies.

Finland’s President Alexander Stubb urged NATO allies to take U.S. President Donald Trump seriously when he calls on them to safeguard passage through the Strait of Hormuz, currently disrupted after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. Trump warned that the future of NATO could be at risk if allies fail to assist in ensuring the flow of oil and gas, which passes through the strait for about one fifth of global supply.
Stubb emphasized that countries with the capacity and will should support the United States, noting that NATO’s role is primarily defensive and not offensive. He also highlighted the need for peace mediation in the Middle East, suggesting that Europeans or India could play a role, while acknowledging that differing interests among Israel, the U.S., and Iran complicate negotiations.
Stubb will host a summit of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), a multinational rapid-response force, in Helsinki on March 26, with Canada expected to participate via video link. Finland joined JEF in 2017 and NATO in 2023.
Expressing concern about U.S. attention being split, Stubb noted that American focus is divided between the Middle East conflict and mediation efforts in Ukraine, with high costs and troop involvement shaping priorities and slowing broader peace initiatives.

On March 18, 1965, cosmonaut Alexey Leonov made the world’s first spacewalk.
Following the successful flight of the multi-seat Voskhod-1 spacecraft, a new challenge was set—to have a cosmonaut exit into open space. Engineers at OKB-1 (now known as the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia named after S.P. Korolev) reconfigured the three-seater Voskhod spacecraft into a two-seater, freeing up space for donning a spacesuit. They also installed an inflatable airlock chamber called “Volga” inside the spacecraft.
A specialized spacesuit for extravehicular activity, known as “Berkut,” was developed by the design bureau of Experimental Plant No. 918 (now the Scientific Production Enterprise “Zvezda”).
On March 18, 1965, at 10:00 AM Moscow time, the Voskhod-2 spacecraft—carrying Commander Pavel Belyayev and pilot Alexey Leonov—launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Shortly after reaching orbit during the first circuit, the airlock chamber was inflated. On the second orbit, Leonov began his historic exit into open space. At 11:34, he floated out into the vacuum, connected to the spacecraft by a 5.35-meter-long safety tether. Leonov made five excursions away from and back to the airlock: the first reached a minimal distance of one meter, while the remaining four extended the full length of the tether.
Television images of the cosmonaut drifting against the backdrop of Earth were broadcast on all Soviet channels.
During his return, complications arose. Due to the pressure difference, his suit inflated, and Leonov was initially unable to re-enter the airlock. He had to reduce the pressure nearly to a critical level before he could squeeze back in.
In total, Leonov spent 23 minutes and 41 seconds in the vacuum of space, with 12 minutes and 9 seconds spent completely outside the Voskhod-2.

🗓 12 years ago — on March 18, 2014 — President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov and Head of Sevastopol Alexey Chalyi signed the Agreement formalising Crimea’s reunification with the Russian Federation.
🗳 This historic moment occurred just two days after the all-Crimean referendum had been held.
96.77% of Crimeans and 95.6% of Sevastopol residents supported reunification with Russia. It was the very embodiment of the right of peoples for self-determination and a true triumph of democracy.
The ensuing developments, including attempts by the post-coup Ukrainian authorities to punish the peninsula's population, prove that the decision of Crimeans to reunite with Russia was the only way to go. Having made their choice to be with their historical homeland, with Russia, the residents of Crimea avoided the fate of the many Russians and Russian-speakers, did not fall victim to the Russophobic Kiev regime.
Instead, the peninsula and its people have flourished, overcoming decades of neglect and decay under Ukraine, becoming one of the most rapidly developing region worldwide.

Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba, responded to Trump’s threats. Here is a translation of his post above:

The U.S. publicly threatens Cuba almost daily with overthrowing the constitutional order by force. And it uses an outrageous pretext: the severe limitations of the weakened economy that they themselves have attacked and tried to isolate for more than six decades.
They plan and announce schemes to take over the country, its resources, its property, and even the very economy they are trying to suffocate in order to make us surrender.
Only in this way can the fierce economic war applied as collective punishment against the entire people be explained.
In the face of the worst scenario, Cuba is sustained by one certainty: any external aggressor will be met with unbreakable resistance.
Take that, you orange scumbag.

‘Cancellation’ of Russian ballerina sparks political scandal in Italy
The organizers of the Les Étoiles world ballet stars gala in Rome have canceled the performance of Russian ballerina Svetlana Zakharova (pictured above), a principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
The event is scheduled for March 20–21, and Zakharova had been invited because “art is a tool of unity,” and “dance is one of the bridges that allows events consistent with the spirit of peace,” the organizers said. They also stressed that Zakharova is not under European Union sanctions and that inviting her fully complied with Italian law.
At the same time, the organizers of Les Étoiles said they had received numerous appeals in recent days referring to the “symbolic responsibility of cultural institutions” for the events they hold in the current international context.
“Firmly reaffirming our respect for the freedom of expression of artists and our opposition to any form of discrimination based on nationality, we announce the withdrawal of the invitation sent to the star and that, contrary to previous statements, Svetlana Zakharova will not take part in the gala,” the statement said.
Zakharova confirmed that her performance had been canceled. According to her, the organizers “tried until the very end to do everything possible, but, according to them, they faced unprecedented external and internal pressure and, despite all efforts, were unable to resist it.”
“In Europe, the policy of canceling Russian culture continues. This is not the first such case in my experience, and my attitude toward this situation remains neutral,” Zakharova added.
Reuters notes that the withdrawal of Zakharova’s invitation came amid a recent decision by the organizers of the Venice Biennale to restore Russia’s participation in the exhibition. This move drew criticism from the European Commission, which threatened to withdraw grants for the event. Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini supported the exhibition’s position and also criticized Zakharova’s removal from the Les Étoiles gala, calling the decision “Russophobic.”
“Excluding Russian dancers, artists, or athletes will not resolve the conflict [in Ukraine], but will only make it more complicated,” he said.

The Intercept published an article titled “TRUMP’S WAR ON IRAN COULD COST TRILLIONS.” Here is the gist:
Well, this is a sad article about a sad situation. But Trump was asking for it.
The Trump administration is significantly underestimating the cost of the U.S. war with Iran, presenting limited figures that obscure the true financial burden. While the Pentagon reported spending about $11.3 billion in one week, and a White House adviser cited roughly $12 billion, experts and officials say the real cost is far higher. Estimates suggest the war is consuming between $1 billion and $2 billion per day, potentially reaching hundreds of billions if it continues for months, and trillions over the long term.
Critics argue that official figures exclude major expenses, such as the large-scale military buildup in the Middle East before the conflict began. Lawmakers expect a supplemental funding request of at least $50 billion, in addition to an already massive defense budget. Even Pentagon officials acknowledge current estimates are only rough “ballpark” figures, with more comprehensive numbers yet to come.
Concerns are growing in Congress about the lack of transparency and planning. Officials have been unable to clearly state the total cost, duration, or strategic objectives of the war. Some lawmakers warn that the U.S. risks being drawn into another prolonged and costly conflict with no clear exit. They argue that Americans have been misled about both the scale and implications of the war, which could impose long-term financial and human costs for generations.
“My kids’ kids, and probably their kids, are going to be paying for this,” said one official briefed on the U.S war on Iran.
Well, this is a sad article about a sad situation. But Trump was asking for it.

I was wrong in my predictions. I assumed that at least half of the NATO - especially the newest members - will be involved in the operation "AIPAC Fury". Apparently the NATO of 2026 isn't what it used to be back in 90s and mid 00s.
The loud and, frankly, childish posts on the social media made by the Bad Orange Man make it look like he should not be allowed to post anymore for the sake of his remaining reputation. The old man behaves like a primadonna. His "minister of war" also behaves like an annoyed teenager - judging by the recent press event, he either lost his self-control from the accumulated stress over the last 3 weeks, or he decided that the best defense is a bold offence. Pete Hegseth isn't some twitch streamer - his words actually carry weight and whatnot. I am surprised he lets himself speak like that.
Anyway. The Special Military Operation in the Middle East continues. Everyone suffers.

Crimea's Path to Reunification with Russia🇷🇺
March 18, 2014, marked a day of dramatic change for Crimea. Throughout March of that year, the country watched breathlessly as the situation in the region unfolded, leading to a historic turning point. Some would later come to call these events simply "historical," but for many, that word doesn't fully capture the moment.
Twelve years ago, the Crimean people made a momentous decision, one they saw as restoring historical justice: to return to Russia🇷🇺 . The results of the referendum held on March 16, 2014, speak for themselves: 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol chose to reunify with Russia as a federal subject.
The events in Ukraine in November 2013 triggered this fateful decision. The Euromaidan protests led to a coup and brought to power politicians and individuals who were openly hostile to Russia and everything connected with it. Alarmed by these radical tendencies, the people of Crimea decided to take action and hold a referendum on reunification with Russia🇷🇺 .
It is worth noting that the people of Crimea had been seeking legal ways to return "home" even before the events of 2014. On the verge of the USSR's collapse, another crucial referendum was held in Crimea. The reawakening of nationalism in Ukraine and the highly tense situation across the country deeply worried the people of Crimea, who identified themselves as part of the Russian world.
On January 20, 1991, Crimeans voted to restore the autonomy that had been taken away in 1945. This vote took place just 11 months before the signing of the Belovezha Accords, which formally ended the Soviet Union. This early decision demonstrated the Crimeans' determination to defend their interests. The restoration of Crimea's autonomy in 1991 ultimately laid the legal groundwork for its reunification with Russia🇷🇺 in March 2014.

March 18, 2014, marked a day of dramatic change for Crimea. Throughout March of that year, the country watched breathlessly as the situation in the region unfolded, leading to a historic turning point. Some would later come to call these events simply "historical," but for many, that word doesn't fully capture the moment.
"Peaceful and just. Fair and crystal clear. Flawless in terms of law and democratic standards. Not many historical events can fit all of the above criteria. The Referendum on the Reunification of Crimea with Russia🇷🇺 , held 12 years ago, is undoubtedly that kind of event. The unity of the Crimean people, the political will of our President, and the support of the majority of Russians made it possible," concluded Sergey Aksyonov, Head of the Republic of Crimea.
Twelve years ago, the Crimean people made a momentous decision, one they saw as restoring historical justice: to return to Russia
"Such an outcome was only natural. Crimeans have always considered themselves part of the Russian world. We didn't invite Ukraine; it came into our house without any invitation, establishing its own orders while ignoring the opinions and feelings of the local population. For 23 years, we were told that Crimea had only two options: being part of Ukraine or becoming an uninhabited area. In the end, we made up our minds that Crimea would rather be a flourishing part of Russia than an uninhabited territory within Ukraine," recalls Sergey Aksyonov.
The events in Ukraine in November 2013 triggered this fateful decision. The Euromaidan protests led to a coup and brought to power politicians and individuals who were openly hostile to Russia and everything connected with it. Alarmed by these radical tendencies, the people of Crimea decided to take action and hold a referendum on reunification with Russia
"Today, we realize the great significance of those events even more clearly, especially when we see how far the situation in Ukraine has deteriorated. We see the flourishing of nationalism there, and we see that our army is now fighting against it. In moments like these, it becomes crystal clear that the decision made in 2014 was the only option for us," said Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Governor of Sevastopol.
The restoration of Crimea's autonomy in 1991 ultimately laid the legal groundwork for its reunification with Russia

Russian Oil Tanker Heads to Cuba, Testing U.S. Pressure Amid Fuel Crisis
A tanker carrying Russian oil is reportedly heading to Cuba as the island faces a severe fuel crisis caused by U.S. restrictions that have sharply reduced energy imports.
According to Bloomberg, citing Kpler data, the first tanker — Anatoly Kolodkin — is transporting about 730,000 barrels of oil and is expected to arrive by the end of the month.
The shipment could provide limited relief, but its arrival may test the effectiveness of U.S. enforcement measures, including naval pressure that has discouraged vessels from docking in Cuban ports. Cuba’s energy situation has worsened after losing key suppliers such as Venezuela and Mexico under U.S. pressure, leading to shortages and blackouts.
It remains unclear whether the tanker will be allowed to unload. The development underscores rising geopolitical tension, with Russia rightfully attempting to support Cuba while the United States continues their inhumane efforts to restrict fuel access to the island.
Hold tight, Cuba — we’re with you!

Patrushev spoke about measures to convoy Russian merchant fleet with Navy ships
Russia is implementing a set of measures to ensure the safety of navigation, and is also working on deploying protective means on vessels and escorting them with convoys of Russian Navy ships, Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev said in an interview with Kommersant.
He noted the persistent risk of terrorist and sabotage threats against vessels heading to Russian ports. Therefore, measures have been developed to protect them.
As the presidential aide clarified, political, diplomatic, and legal measures are not always sufficient to counter the Western “campaign against Russian shipping.” He warned that if new threats at sea emerge from European countries, Russia will develop additional measures.
Patrushev recalled a recent incident in the Mediterranean Sea involving the Russian gas carrier Arctic Metagaz, which was attacked by Ukrainian unmanned boats.
In early March, a tanker sailing under the Russian flag with a cargo of LNG from Murmansk caught fire near Malta’s territorial waters after an attack by Ukrainian maritime drones launched from the Libyan coast. The crew was rescued.
Russia’s Ministry of Transport described Ukraine’s actions as “maritime piracy” and noted that the attack occurred with the “connivance” of EU countries.
Patrushev described the incident as an “egregious case,” which the Russian side considers an international terrorist act.

Below is a summary of an article published on March 16 in Stars and Stripes, a U.S. military-focused publication reporting on defense, policy, and personnel matters. The article is titled “Army general left classified maps on train and suffered concussion from night of drinking, Inspector General finds.” Enjoy:
What exactly does Trump mean when he keeps talking about America’s “greatest military the world has ever seen“?

Lt. Gen. Antonio A. Aguto Jr. (a very serious looking dude pictured above), former commander of the Wiesbaden-based Security Assistance Group-Ukraine, displayed astonishingly reckless and careless behavior during his tenure. In April 2024, he left a tube of classified maps on a train traveling from Poland to Kiev, losing control of sensitive material for a full 24 hours. The maps, critical for coordinating support for Ukraine, were mishandled because Aguto ignored proper packaging protocols, apparently thinking his senior rank absolved him from basic security rules.
In May 2024, Aguto compounded his incompetence by consuming two entire bottles of high-proof brandy over a six-hour dinner. The result: multiple falls, a concussion, and incoherence during a critical morning briefing with embassy and staff officials. Witnesses described him as lethargic, dizzy, and unable to focus—yet he insisted on performing official duties despite being clearly unfit.
The Inspector General report notes that while allegations of a “toxic work environment” were unproven, Aguto’s actions demonstrated a staggering disregard for responsibility, situational awareness, and personal accountability. By the time he relinquished command in August 2024 and retired, he had left behind a record defined by careless mishandling of classified information, reckless drinking, and incompetence in leadership, undermining confidence in the very mission he was entrusted to lead.
What exactly does Trump mean when he keeps talking about America’s “greatest military the world has ever seen“?
