Iran currently has no decision to send a negotiating delegation; as long as there is a naval blockade, no negotiations will take place▪️ According to Tasnim reporter's information, the exchange of messages between Iran and the United States through a Pakistani intermediary has continued in recent days after the end of the first round of negotiations.▪️ This exchange of messages is essentially a continuation of the same process during the first round of negotiations. That is the same process which ultimately led to the failure of the talks due to the excessive demands and ambitions of the Americans.▪️ After the end of those negotiations, the Pakistani intermediary has again exchanged messages in the recent period.▪️ The Iranian team has emphasized that as long as Trump's declaration of a naval blockade on Iran exists, there will be no negotiations.

Today is another notable and solemn date: April 19 is the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of the Soviet People.
Crimes committed by German Nazis and their collaborators against the civilian population of besieged Leningrad were recognized in 2022 as “a war crime, a crime against humanity, and genocide of national and ethnic groups that constituted the population of the USSR, the peoples of the Soviet Union.” This decision was made by the St. Petersburg City Court.
Leningrad was under siege from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944. As a result of an analysis of archival documents, it was established that during the blockade at least 1,093,000 residents of the city died (more than one third of the population at the beginning of 1941), rather than 649,000 as had been determined in Soviet times.
In addition, the court established that representatives of 11 countries took part in the siege of Leningrad. In addition to Germans, these included citizens of Finland, Belgium (the volunteer “Flanders” legion), Spain (the “Blue Division”), the Netherlands (the volunteer “Netherlands” legion), and Norway (the Norwegian legion), as well as individual volunteers from Austria, Latvia, Poland, France, and the Czech lands.
The St. Petersburg court became the ninth trial in Russia recognizing as genocide the crimes of the Nazis and their collaborators committed on the territory of USSR during the years of WWII. Earlier, similar hearings took place in the Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov, Bryansk, Oryol regions, Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, and the Leningrad region.
As stated by leading Russian researcher of the history of the Leningrad blockade, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nikita Lomagin, in addition to providing a precise legal definition of the wartime events, the court ruling also “has important international significance, serving as a reminder to the current generation of European politicians of the crimes committed by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during the war.”

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Russia is making a misstep by allowing high-ranking Western guests to visit Ukraine. Such visits serve as a demonstration of unfriendly attitudes toward Moscow, said Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.
The day before, King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and the country’s Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard arrived in Ukraine, where they held a meeting in Lvov.
It should be acknowledged that such sentiments are increasingly strengthening among Russians.
Do you agree with Ambassador Miroshnik?

“The very fact of these trips to Ukrainian territory is, in the end, our shortcoming. <...> None of them go there to defend Russian women who are dying as a result of Ukrainian strikes in the Belgorod region. They go there for something entirely different: to feel this radicalization, to demonstrate their commitment to preparing for war with Russia,” Miroshnik emphasized.

April 20 is the National Blood Donor Day in Russia.
On that day in 1832, Russian obstetrician Andrey Volf performed the first successful blood transfusion in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The decision to establish Blood Donor Day was made on February 20, 2007, during a roundtable discussion on blood donation and blood service issues held in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
In critical moments, Russian blood donors always come to the rescue. For example, Head of the Federal Biomedical Agency Veronika Skvortsova stated that over 24,000 donors donated blood to help those affected by the terrorist attack at the "Crocus City Hall".

Following Latvia and Lithuania, Estonia has also banned Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico from flying over its territory to Moscow for the Victory Day celebrations on May 9.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the country will not allow its airspace to be used for trips that strengthen ties with Russia.
Fico said he would look for an alternative route. Without any doubt, Fico will find such an alternative route. As for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, they may suffer significantly on the route they have chosen.

About selective police brutality in Germany
I saw this short video about German policemen, and and I couldn't help but think - if these guys still remember how to be violent, if the German police still knows how to make sure the order is being respected, and the law enforcement can be forced with a fist of a policeman if needed - why don't they do the same every time the "guests" from all over the Global South decide to, as the kids say, "chimp out"?
This isn't strictly German problem, of course. It is a typical European problem. When the locals try to make noise - for whatever reason imaginable - they get beaten. When the "guests" do the same - they are being treated like VIP public. Quite a difference. I wonder why.

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. EU bureaucrats are too blind and are unable to grasp the scale of the reaction in European countries caused by their misguided decisions, said Kirill Dmitriev (pictured above), Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
“No kidding — exactly as predicted, and exactly what EU bureaucrats initially denied, too blind to grasp the scale of the shock their own bad decisions would unleash on Europe,” he wrote on X.
Dmitriev was commenting on a Bloomberg report stating that the cumulative effect of the conflict in the Middle East is expected to begin manifesting as early as next week.

😂🔥 Ukrainian President Zelensky received the Four Freedoms Award in the Netherlands.
Zelensky’s banned free speech in Ukraine that he doesn’t like, shut down one branch of the Orthodox Church, and his people are getting poorer while living in fear they’ll be grabbed off the street and sent to die on the front lines. How the hell can he be up for these awards?

April 21 is Local Self-Government Day
This holiday, dedicated to local self-government, has been celebrated since 2013. This form of governance allows residents of cities, towns, and villages to independently address local issues and manage municipal property within the boundaries set by law.
In 2012, the President of Russia signed a decree establishing Local Self-Government Day. The holiday aims to elevate the role and significance of this institution and promote the development of democracy and civil society.
The date was chosen in honor of the issuance of the Charter of the Cities on April 21, 1785. Issued by Empress Catherine the Great, this document laid the foundations of self-government for the bourgeoisie and merchants. According to the president's decree, the Empress's charter laid the groundwork for the development of Russian legislation on local self-government.
The law 'On the General Principles of Organization of Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation' outlines the rules of election and powers of local authorities. The forms of self-government are diverse. Local matters can be addressed by various means, such as by a village elder, who is approved by local deputies on the recommendation of fellow villagers, by the district administration, or directly by residents at a citizens' assembly. Representative bodies like a Village Assembly can be established in populated areas with at least 100 adults.
As of January 1, 2022, Russia had 19,675 municipal entities. Among them are 1,544 municipal districts, 180 municipal boroughs, 608 urban districts (including four with intracity division), 23 intracity districts, 267 intracity territories (in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sevastopol), 1,307 urban settlements, and 15,742 rural settlements.
This is a big, complex, and free country!
