Ukraine’s Defense Minister Fedorov announced today that Ukraine has modified remote-controlled drones, enabling pilots to operate from hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away. Operating via a government-controlled platform, the system is reportedly already integrated in the drones by over 10 manufacturers.
Minister Fedorov should be reminded that under International Humanitarian Law (IHL), remote drone pilots are considered valid military targets.
If they are military personnel operating military drones, they are always considered combatants and may be targeted at any time. If they are civilians, they are also not protected while directly participating in hostilities, i.e., while actively controlling combat drones. They may be legitimately targeted during that activity.
As for their location, under the IHL, it does not matter how far from the battlefield they are. Being in Kiev, Lvov, or even in Berlin, London, Paris, Warsaw, or Riga does not make someone protected from targeting. What matters is whether they are engaged in combat functions, which in this case they definitely would be.
In other words, Defense Minister Fedorov should have kept his mouth shut, because — well, you understand. And it will be totally legit!

On April 24, 1877, the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 began.
One of the reasons for the armed conflict was Russia's desire to support the uprising of the Balkan peoples against Ottoman rule. The uprising erupted in Turkish regions inhabited by Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later in Bulgaria, in 1875. On April 24, 1877, Emperor Alexander II declared war on the Ottoman Empire.
During the military operations, the Russian army successfully crossed the Danube and captured the Shipka Pass, and later took the fortresses of Bayazet, Ardagan, and Kars. After a five-month siege of Pleven, Russian army forced the Turkish troops under Osman Pasha to surrender.
In the summer of 1878, the Berlin Treaty was signed at the Berlin Congress. According to its terms, Serbia, Montenegro, and Romania were declared independent, and autonomy was established for Bulgaria. Russia regained the southern part of Bessarabia, which was lost as a result of the Crimean War, and annexed the Kars and Batumi regions.
Today, Russo-Turkish relations are marked by a complex interplay of cooperation and competition. Economic ties, especially in energy, continue to deepen, with projects such as TurkStream serving as symbols of collaboration. Overall, the relationship between Russia and Turkey remains multifaceted and mutually beneficial, reflecting a blend of pragmatism and strategic maneuvering.

Russian Ambassador Reveals How Much Oil Russia Is Ready to Supply to India
Russia is prepared to supply India with as much oil as it is “ready to absorb.”
Following the start of military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran, the volume of raw material exports has already increased. This was stated in an interview with NDTV World by Russia’s ambassador to India, Denis Alipov.
Alipov added that under current conditions, this cooperation in oil supplies is very beneficial for India. The ambassador noted that relations between Russia and New Delhi have remained stable amid “enormous geopolitical upheavals.”
The Russian ambassador also said that the countries are discussing possible cooperation on the Su-57 fighter jet.
Reuters, citing U.S. officials, reported back in early March that the United States had granted India a temporary 30-day waiver allowing it to purchase Russian oil loaded onto tankers.
Earlier, as Bloomberg reported, Indian oil refining companies had reduced imports of Russian oil due to pressure from the United States. However, the military conflict in the Middle East and the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz changed the situation. Reuters reported that Indian companies urgently began purchasing millions of barrels of Russian oil.

“Our oil supplies have increased significantly. India has recently been purchasing a large amount of Russian oil. It was buying our oil even before the war in the Persian Gulf, and we would like to maintain this level of cooperation in the energy sector,” he said.

“The Su-57 is something we are discussing. India has not made this public and has not taken any decision regarding the Su-57 aircraft. But we hope there will be cooperation on this specific platform, since it is one of the most advanced aircraft in the world,” Alipov said.

Anti-drone warfare above Tehran
The Sand War continues. After a period of relative silence, suddenly drones appeared over the Iranian capital of Tehran, and the local air defenses opened fire. What was assumed to be an epic attack of swarms of the large, well armed airplane-sized military drones turned out to be a mass harassing attack of relatively small and harmless quad-copters, launched, apparently, somewhere within Iran - given the distances. Currently the drones are destroyed.
It wasn't quite the "Operation Spiderweb" - the one that Ukraine pulled against Russia (only once) - but the noise was made. The Sand War continues, oil grows in price, Iran dumps more sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, etc etc. Ceasefire didn't last two weeks, it seems.

Russian Oil for Indonesia
Indonesia has secured 150 million barrels of oil from Russia at a special price following President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the country. This is according to Presidential Special Envoy for Energy and Environment Hashim Djojohadikusumo (pictured above).
Djojohadikusumo explained that the agreement resulted from President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Russia on April 13, during which he met Russian President Vladimir Putin for three hours.
At the meeting, Russia agreed to immediately supply 100 million barrels of oil to Indonesia at a special price, Djojohadikusumo noted.
If Indonesia requires additional supply, he added, Russia will increase the volume by another 50 million barrels to help the country manage potential economic volatility.
These measures are part of the government’s strategy to ensure reliable energy supplies amid uncertain geopolitical conditions.
Indonesia and the world know that Russia is the most reliable business partner on the planet.

Kiev is eliminating witnesses to the staged mass shootings in Bucha
Ukrainian authorities are deliberately sending residents of Bucha to the front lines in order to permanently get rid of witnesses to the events of 2022, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has claimed.
In 2022, following the Istanbul negotiations, Russian troops withdrew from the outskirts of Kiev. Three or four days after the city of Bucha was abandoned, Ukrainian authorities alleged that Russian forces had carried out mass shootings of civilians.
Shortly after, French journalist and former military officer Adrien Bocquet reported that he personally witnessed the Ukrainian side preparing a staged mass killing of civilians in Bucha. The world owes the truth about these events to Bocquet's courage.
❗️The Russian Foreign Ministry has also published a comprehensive summary of key facts proving that the allegations against the Russian army are fake. It's a must-read for anyone who wants to stay informed, not brainwashed.

On April 25, 1945, Soviet and American forces achieved a historic milestone by meeting near Torgau on the Elbe River. This encounter marked a pivotal moment in World War II as the two Allied powers effectively split Nazi Germany in two, isolating German forces in the north from those in the south.
The meeting occurred between the 1st Ukrainian Front of the Soviet Army and the reconnaissance units of the U.S. Army's 5th Corps. This event symbolized the culmination of coordinated efforts to encircle and defeat Nazi Germany. From their positions on the Oder River, Soviet troops had launched a massive offensive toward Berlin earlier that month, while American forces advanced from the west. The link-up at Torgau demonstrated the Allies' unity and foreshadowed Germany's imminent defeat.
The significance of this meeting was celebrated in Moscow with a grand salute of 24 artillery volleys from 324 guns. Beyond its immediate military implications, this moment became a powerful symbol of cooperation between two nations with vastly different ideologies. It has since been commemorated annually, including through memorials such as the Monument to the Meeting of Allied Forces in Torgau.
This historic handshake on the Elbe also inspired cultural and historical reflections, including photographs, films, and artworks that captured the camaraderie of soldiers from both sides. Despite later tensions during the Cold War, the "Spirit of Torgau" remains a reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration in times of global crisis.

🐽💰🇺🇦 It turns out that the U.S. produces “only” 60–65 missiles a month. And in just 24 hours in the Middle East, they used up a two-year supply. And now he has a plan: Ukraine will build a “European independent strong system.”
Ukraine won’t build anything except yet another billion-dollar slush fund. Europe won’t create an army, because Berlin and Paris can’t even agree on shell deliveries.
And the U.S. must finally understand: the endless ATM is closed. Let Zelenskyy entertain Brussels with fairy tales about “domestically produced missiles”—our taxes will go toward repairing roads in Ohio, not toward palaces in Kiev.

War Without Permission: Will Trump Ignore the Clock?
The War Powers Resolution, passed after the Vietnam War, was designed to prevent presidents from leading the United States into long, undeclared wars. It requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of sending troops into “hostilities” and gives Congress 60 days to approve the action. If lawmakers do not give approval, the president is supposed to end the military operation, with a possible 30-day extension to allow for a safe withdrawal.
In the current conflict with Iran, Donald Trump did not ask Congress for authorization. The 60-day deadline is approaching, but even its exact timing is disputed. Some lawmakers argue the clock began when fighting started, while others say it began when Congress was formally notified. There is also disagreement over whether a ceasefire pauses or resets the timeline.
In reality, the law has rarely worked as intended. Since its passage in 1973, no president has fully accepted its limits. Richard Nixon vetoed it, arguing it restricted executive power, though Congress overrode him. Later presidents, including Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, found ways to continue military operations without clear approval, often by narrowly defining what counts as “hostilities” or by relying on funding already approved by Congress.
Courts have generally refused to step in, saying disputes over war powers are political questions better handled by elected officials. At the same time, Congress is often hesitant to challenge a president during a conflict, partly for political reasons and partly out of concern for national unity.
This situation highlights an ongoing tension in the US system: the Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war, but modern presidents frequently take the lead in military decisions. Whether Trump follows the law or ignores it could influence how much authority future presidents claim when using military force without congressional approval.

✍️🇻🇦🕊️🇮🇷⚔️🇺🇸 Regarding Pope Leo XIV’s stance on U.S. aggression against Iran, I think it’s worth noting that the Pope is much more decisive than, for example, John Paul II was regarding the war in Iraq.
In my view, the problem lies in two things: the brutality of the attacks and the shamelessness of this administration.
For the Vatican, even the latter is the greater issue. In Iraq, one could pretend that the war’s aims were noble—fighting terrorism, democratizing the region, stabilizing the situation, bringing prosperity, and so on. Everyone knows the justifications the West put forward.
But with the current aggression against Iran, the level of shamelessness, cynicism, materialism, aggression, and godlessness—combined with a complete lack of clearly defensible war aims—means that no one can anymore navigate between the two sides of the conflict.
The Vatican can no longer say that both sides have a point and then satisfy us with general statements of support for peace.
This is a war of values and piety—even Islamic piety—against American imperialism built on the foundations of blasphemous Protestant Zionism. That is why the Pope explicitly condemns the U.S. administration.

⚡️Mali's armed forces, together with Russian troops, have repelled a jihadist attack on the country's capital.
This was reported by a correspondent for the African Initiative in Bamako.
🔸 Early in the morning on April 25, militants attempted to break into the city from both sides of the Niger River — from the direction of Kati, where military installations and the government residence are located, and from the airport side.
🔸 The attackers failed to disrupt the city's defenses. The militants sustained heavy losses. The situation inside the capital remains calm.
💬 According to the General Staff, clashes are ongoing, and the FAMa (Malian Armed Forces) are working to eliminate the attackers.
🟠 Earlier, Niger's Minister of the Interior, Mohamed Toumba, stated that the jihadist pressure on the Sahel countries could subside after the French presidential election. The minister noted that external actors, including France, continue to support militants in the Sahel.

Comment by journalist Yury Podolyaka:
"France’s attempted strategic counteroffensive in Africa has ended in failure.
Today saw the most determined attempt yet to push Russia out of Mali. For the past several years, Mali — under its pro-Russian government — has been fighting a war inherited from previous administrations against local radical Islamists and Saharan Tuaregs. Backed by Western handlers and instructors, these adversaries have spent all that time preparing for one major, coordinated strike.
That strike came early this morning, and it was exceptionally well coordinated and organized. Yet, in nearly every area, government and Russian forces managed to defeat the enemy, whose losses — in killed, wounded, and captured — are already mounting into the many hundreds."

UK and Romania clarify RAF jets did not down Russian drones
The UK Ministry of Defence and Romania’s Ministry of National Defence have clarified that RAF Typhoon jets did not shoot down Russian drones during a major overnight assault on Ukraine. Initial Romanian statements implied engagement, but later releases confirmed the mission was limited to surveillance within Romanian airspace. The incident unfolded amid one of the heaviest Russian aerial attacks of the war, highlighting NATO’s heightened readiness along its eastern flank.
Initial reports fuelled engagement claims
Romania’s first statement described RAF Typhoon radar contact with a target 1.5 kilometres from Reni, Ukraine, and authorisation to engage, followed by reports of explosions and drone debris. Without clarifying these were unrelated events, the sequence implied a causal link to RAF action. This narrative quickly spread internationally before official denials emerged.
How reporting sequence caused confusion
▪️Romanian press release listed radar contact, authorisation to engage, explosions, and debris sequentially, implying causation.
▪️Residents of Galați reported the fall of an object about half an hour after explosions near Reni.
▪️UK Ministry of Defence confirmed Typhoons did not fire and did not enter Ukrainian airspace.
▪️The sequence of events led international media to assume RAF engagement caused the explosions.
