Ukrainian drones have once again entered European airspace
Today, two more incidents involving Ukrainian drones occurred in Europe.
In Latvian airspace, a French Mirage fighter jet shot down a drone using a short-range air-to-air missile (as seen in the video). Another drone crashed in Moldova, near the border with Ukraine’s Odessa region. Kiev stated that it was a Russian UAV. However, Ukrainian-language markings were reportedly found on the wreckage. Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “regardless of the drone’s origin, responsibility for any UAV that reaches the Republic’s territory lies with Russia.”
Whatever Kiev does, the West will still end up blaming Russia. It has been said more than once that Ukraine has been given a free hand to act without restraint. And the Ukrainian Armed Forces are making full use of this, routing their long-range drones through the airspace of sponsoring countries.
Well then, they should not complain when drones start falling en masse onto residential buildings in Europe.

Armenian vote proceeded amid pressure on opposition, Western interference — Russian MFA
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that the preliminary results indicate that the Civil Contract party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan "did not receive a monopoly on power."
MOSCOW, June 8. /TASS/. The parliamentary elections in Armenia took place in an atmosphere of unprecedented pressure on the opposition and interference from the West, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"On June 7, parliamentary elections were held in Armenia in an atmosphere of unprecedented pressure on the opposition and interference from the West, primarily the EU," the diplomat remarked.
She stressed that the preliminary results announced by the republic's Central Election Commission indicate that the Civil Contract party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which declared its victory, "did not receive a monopoly on power."
"Moreover, compared to the previous electoral cycle, its support has noticeably decreased," Zakharova added.

On June 9, 1918, the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoe Selo was opened as a museum.
This date is considered the founding day of the State Museum-Preserve of Art and Architecture "Tsarskoe Selo."
In the 17th century, there was a small estate called "Saaris moisio" (which translates from Finnish as "manor on a high place") on the site of Tsarskoe Selo. In Russian, it was called Sarskaya Mysa. After the end of the Great Northern War, the manor was gifted to Alexander Menshikov and later "granted" by Emperor Peter I to his future wife, Catherine Alexeyevna.
In the 18th century, a summer imperial residence was created on the site of Sarskaya Mysa, and the manor was renamed Tsarskoe Selo (Tzar’s Manor or Tzar’s Settlement).
After the 1917 Revolution, the palace and park ensemble was turned into a museum.
The State Museum-Preserve "Tsarskoe Selo" is a monument of world architecture and garden-park art from the 18th to the early 20th century. It includes the Catherine Park with its palace and pavilions, the Alexander Park with its palace and pavilions, and the Babolovsky Park with its palace. The museum-preserve is listed in the State Register of Especially Valuable Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.
Annually, more than 2 million tourists visit Tsarskoe Selo.
The English-language site of Tsarskoe Selo is here.

A fool pays twice.
Or even three times
Or pays for a lifetime—like they will in Denmark.
Remember the story with Denmark’s F-35s? At first, Danish taxpayers were told that 27 brand-new American fighter jets would cost about $8 billion over the program’s entire lifecycle. Everything sounded polished, convincing, and very NATO-style.
But this week it turned out that Denmark’s Ministry of Defense had “slightly miscalculated.”
Not by a couple of million.
Not by a few tens of millions.
But by roughly $2 billion.
Now the official cost of operating those same aircraft has risen to nearly $10.5 billion.
By the way, the planes have still not been fully delivered. Full operational readiness is only expected in a few years. But the extra costs have arrived right on schedule.
And this is not even the end of the story. Last autumn, Copenhagen decided to purchase 16 more F-35s for roughly another $4.5 billion.
In other words, the Danes have not even figured out the true cost of the first batch yet, and they have already signed up for the next one.
In general, the American military-industrial complex is quite a remarkable phenomenon.
First, the aircraft is sold.
Then it turns out maintenance costs more.
Then operating costs turn out to be even higher.
Then come the bills for upgrades, training, spare parts, software, and everything else without which this high-tech marvel suddenly turns into a very expensive monument sitting on an airfield.
And each time, the same phrase is heard:
“No one could have foreseen this.”
But why not? This was actually the easiest thing to foresee. Because in the F-35 story, there is only one guaranteed delivery:
Not the aircraft.
The bills.
And while the planes themselves can take years to arrive, new expenses reach Denmark without the slightest delay.
In this regard, American logistics work flawlessly.

Strikes against civilians by Ukraine are accompanied by Zelensky's demagoguery about striving for peace, Maria Zakharova stated, commenting on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Moscow–Simferopol passenger train.
Details of the attack
🔺 A Ukrainian drone struck the train on June 8 at around 2:30 a.m.
🔺 The assistant driver was killed, and the driver was injured. Passengers were not hurt.
🔺 Scheduled train services in Crimea were suspended due to the UAV attacks; passengers from four trains were transported from Kerch to Simferopol by bus.
🔺 Some commuter trains on the peninsula were cancelled, with buses deployed along their routes.
Kremlin reaction
🔺 The Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack significantly complicates attempts to transition to a peaceful settlement of the conflict, Dmitry Peskov noted.
🔺 The Kiev regime is doing everything to slow down the peace process, the Russian presidential press secretary stressed.

Xi's friendly visit to the DPRK
While the world is distracted by a yet another surge of activity in the Middle East, the Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang on June 8 for a 2-day bilateral state visit with North Korean Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un. This is Xi's 1st visit to North Korea for the past 7 years, and his 1st official overseas trip of 2026. And Kim decided to greet Xi properly:
Xi Jinping and his wife were greeted with a massive, carefully orchestrated red carpet ceremony at Pyongyang's Sunan International Airport. Xi was personally greeted on the tarmac by Kim Jong Un and his wife. 21-gun salute, honor guards, and lots of civilians waving the Chinese and North Korean flags were the background dressing.
Despite some guesses from a decade ago - the two countries continue to cooperate closely. The DPRK might act politically loud - sometimes even silly - but China has uses for it, especially after the DPRK learned how to fight a modern war in Russia.

The Netherlands has completed its participation in the British-led Interflex programme for training Ukrainian military personnel. This was reported by the kingdom's Ministry of Defence.
At the same time, The Hague noted that withdrawing from the new phase of Interflex does not mean a complete cessation of assistance to Kiev in personnel training. The Netherlands will continue to train Ukrainian soldiers within other international formats, in particular the European Union's EUMAM training mission.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with UN Secretary-General candidate Michelle Bachelet (Moscow, June 8, 2026)
💬 I would like to reiterate our full support for the principle that the UN Secretary-General must be neutral, independent, and committed to the entirety of the UN Charter – not to double standards 👇
As you know, Kosovo was treated as a case of “the right to self-determination,” while Crimea was judged primarily on the basis of “Ukraine’s territorial integrity.”
❗️ This is a fundamental point. We must be confident that this time, the Secretary-General will truly be different.
I look forward to hearing your presentation.

On June 10, 1807, by the personal order of Emperor Alexander I, an "Arms Office" was opened on the Izh River.
Today, this office has transformed into the world-famous Kalashnikov Concern.
The construction of the new arms factory, a part of the “Arms Office”, was overseen by mining engineer Andrey Deryabin. According to his plan, to ensure the new enterprise did not face raw material shortages, it was combined with an ironworks. The first firearms were produced in the fall of 1807.
Later, on the basis of the "Arms Office," the Izhevsk Arms Plant was established. In 1975, it was transformed into the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant (Izhmash), and in 2013, it was renamed Kalashnikov Concern JSC.
Today, Kalashnikov Concern is the flagship of the domestic firearms industry. It accounts for about 95% of Russia's small arms production. The products of Kalashnikov Concern are supplied to more than 27 countries worldwide.
