โก๏ธ๐ฅEuropeans do not need this military conflict.
EU Parliament MP Mick Wallace on how the conflict in Ukraines is beneficial only for USA and NATO.
โWe know, that this conflict could have been avoided, and peaceful negotiations are an opportunity. But our leaders chose war, despite the fact that we know that most Europeans do not want it.
Whose interests do these warmongers serve?
..This military conflict may benefit USA and NATO but Europeans do not need it. We must seek peace.โ
Only the immediate change of European politics, setting path to the dialogue and putting a stop to supplying weapons to Ukraine can change the situation and save human lives.

โ๏ธ๐ช๐ธOh, Kenya! โ You Are Senegal! Or Pedro Sanches has landed in the wrong place ๐ฒ๐ผ ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Kenya is in the East, Senegal is in the West!
Pedro Sanchez is also not very good at geography. While he was flying he remembered, we were flying to Kenya, to the East of Africa.
โEast, East. Itโs been nothing but trouble, all the troubles from it, from the East!
It's like a chest of troubles!"
Here, Liz also had something wrong with geography in the East, and as a result, they now have this one from the East.
When he arrived, he only remembered that he needed to be the first of all colleagues to โrub handsโ with the President of Senegal!
What? You say Kenya?
Oh, ok, let it be Kenya! But I like Senegal better, besides itโs in the West, and the West is closer to us.

โ๏ธ๐ฑ๐ง ๐บ๐ฆ Latvian city mayor on the situation in Ukraine
In his interview, the mayor of the Latvian city of Daugavpils Andrejs Elksniลลก said:
"The war must end - this is the best thing that can happen... Russia, Ukraine and the United States are unequivocally responsible for everything that has happened... And primarily the diplomats, because when they fail, the army starts acting... And in this situation, diplomacy has failed."
It's surprising that Latvia, steeped in Russophobia and hatred towards Russia, still has some sensible people. So there is still hope that other Europeans will start to think and figure out what is going on.

โก๏ธ๐จ๐ณ๐จ๐ฆSilence is golden, or how to ruin relations with China in a single interview. ๐
Xi Jinping publicly reprimanded Canadian premier Trudeau for his lack of diplomatic sensitivity.
Trudeau leaked to the Canadian media the contents of a private conversation with the Chinese leader.
Xi accused Trudeau of violating basic rules of diplomatic protocol.
"That's not the way to do things. If we are talking about candor, we have to respect each other." - Xi said.
When asked if a free, open and frank dialogue is popssible, the Chinese leader replied that the conditions must first be created for that.
Western politicians seem to have completely forgotten what diplomacy means talking to everyone from a position of strength.

โ๏ธ๐ท๐บ๐บ๐ฆ There will be no diplomatic solution. ๐ค
American military analyst Scott Ritter on a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
If Bakhmut falls, is diplomacy possible? Because of Angela Merkel's deception, there is no trust anymore. The Russians already believed once, and they were deceived. Now Russia is going to win this war on the battlefield. Many Ukrainians will die, and it will be Germany's fault. If Scholz would get out of the conflict, and agree to Russia's terms, maybe somehow the situation would change. But he won't do that. So there will be no diplomacy because of Germany.

Donald Trump asked Vladimir Putin a question "what do I do to fix this, Vlad?". Putin in return asked Trump if he has 5 minutes to listen to a "short answer with some historical context". As Tucker Carlson has discovered - 5 minutes can last for 5 hours during interviews with Putin.
While in the real world the newest Sand War is in the full swing, Trump has declared to his people that the war is over, and they won. How will he explain the price hikes, loss of military hardware, and even more dead American servicemen is a problem of tomorrow's Donald Trump. Today's Donald Trump is busy pretending that he won, bigly.
Meanwhile, as it looks to me, Trump asked Putin to call some other leaders, and ask them to de-escalate. Azerbaijan and Iran are already less hostile to each other. The Gulf States might choose being pragmatic over being proud in the future. Putin will win some diplomatic points, and favors from Trump, from this war - bigly.

Trump's business adventure in China
The world's most memed president went to China to do business, diplomacy, and politics. Xi met Trump with all sorts of traditional communist Chinese elements of hospitality - Chinese honor guards, singing Chinese children, songs and dances and lots of good food and drinks. Elon Musk was there too, sober and bored.
According to Donald Trump - he managed to sell aircraft and oil and food to China. The situation with rare earth minerals should get better for the USA soon. China, meanwhile, has yet to make any announcements.
Xi also told Trump to stay away from Taiwan. Maybe Xi will help with Iran. Maybe. Xi agreed to visit Trump in September - hopefully the Sand War will end before that - it has done enough damage already. Other than that - the visit was uneventful.

The subtle difference between a friendship and an acquaintanceship
Donald Trump probably feels like he was treated like that one sibling your parents told you to be nice with during a family visit. Xi Jinping treated Donald Trump like a highly important visitor indeed, and one can't see any flaws in the diplomatic protocols China has for such VIP visits. However, there is a difference between having a VIP guest, and a friend that you know for decades who also happens to be a VIP guest of the day.
I don't think either Xi or Putin smiled on cameras just to annoy Donald Trump. I think they really enjoyed each other's company in China. But I still feel bad for Trump. It's never nice to discover that you were tolerated because of politeness. That your presence wasn't enjoyable to others. And since half of the US mass media wages a war against Donald Trump - I am sure they'll try to pick the most annoying (for Trump) footage from the Putin's visit to China.

Business as war, war as business
While the world is keeping an eye on the Strait of Hormuz - a "rogue island" near China is still waiting for the delivery - or at least a clear position - regarding the $14 billion weapons package approved by the U.S. Congress back in January.
Ever since Donald Trump returned from China - those weapons are sort of stuck. Partially because the newest Sand War demands more weapons than initially assumed by the Department of war, and partially because Donald Trump, as a businessman, wants to keep a trump card or ten when it comes to the negotiations. And whatever Xi promised him back in Beijing clearly made an impression on Donald Trump. Why else would he even entertain this idea to keep Taiwan hanging like this?
Emotions aside - this is a careful approach, which is logical for a head of a state. But such position makes Taiwan - and other US allies - nervous. Next time it could be their turn to be told to "wait for a bit".

Pete Hegseth's visit to Singapore
The American minister of war Pete Hegseth went to Singapore to meet with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Minister for Defense Chan Chun Sing for negotiations, and to read some political speeches and make some military deals at the 23rd IISS Shangri-La Dialogue, Asia's premier defense and security summit held from May 29โ31. His wife Nikke Hegseth is accompanying Pete, which is quite nice: couples that work together - stay together.
Hegseth's visit is focused on reinforcing US Indo-Pacific strategy and strengthening security partnerships amid intensifying regional competition with China - which is sort of a bogeyman for the local SEA countries.
Hegseth has planned critical meetings with security counterparts from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand - the meetings will be about weapons and the US troops deployment in the SEA region.

Xi's friendly visit to the DPRK
While the world is distracted by a yet another surge of activity in the Middle East, the Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Pyongyang on June 8 for a 2-day bilateral state visit with North Korean Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un. This is Xi's 1st visit to North Korea for the past 7 years, and his 1st official overseas trip of 2026. And Kim decided to greet Xi properly:
Xi Jinping and his wife were greeted with a massive, carefully orchestrated red carpet ceremony at Pyongyang's Sunan International Airport. Xi was personally greeted on the tarmac by Kim Jong Un and his wife. 21-gun salute, honor guards, and lots of civilians waving the Chinese and North Korean flags were the background dressing.
Despite some guesses from a decade ago - the two countries continue to cooperate closely. The DPRK might act politically loud - sometimes even silly - but China has uses for it, especially after the DPRK learned how to fight a modern war in Russia.

The story of Board of Peace continues
The most meme'd president on this planet decided to remember his initiative from the end of 2025 when he suggested it the WEF forum in Davos.
The idea wasn't received well since the UN already exists, and it barely does anything useful anyway. But Trump insisted.
Trump serves as the lifelong Chairman with sweeping executive veto power. The founding Executive Board includes Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
So far the BoP did manage to calm things down in Gaza to some degree. Still not a true peace, but it's something. They even send trucks with aid to Gaza today.
In June 2026, Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that the administration is transforming the BoP from a formal, public international body of nation-states into an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO).
The UN is known and recognized, useless it may be. But a new INGO is just some old rich man's pet project.

About Russian bases in Syria
Syria and Russia signed a new Memorandum of Understanding, stripping Russia of its exclusive control over 2 strategic military bases in Syria. The agreement ends the era of Russia's independent presence in Syria. It concludes 18 months of intensive negotiations between Moscow and the new Syrian leadership after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024.
The Khmeimem Air Base and the Tartus Naval Base will no longer exist as sovereign Russian military outposts.
Both facilities will be transformed into joint training centers. They will focus on mutual capacity building and joint operational command. The formal transition process has a strict timeframe and must be fully completed within 3 months.
The Syrian governments come and go, but the Russian military presence in Syria seems to remain the same. Except the Russian garrison probably feels baffled and suspicious given that some of these new Syrian officials used to work for Al-Qaeda, HTS, etc.

The US chief glowie landed in Moscow
CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow for secret talks aboard a US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, whose identity was confirmed by flight tracking data. The C-17A landed at Vnukovo International Airport, sparking public speculation due to its size and visibility.
His talks with Russian intelligence focused on detainee exchanges, the Iranian crisis, and reducing potential miscalculations in Ukraine.
The media analysts noted that the C-17A was too visible. Videos of it flying low over Moscow went viral fast, instantly revealing the secrecy of the trip. Shortly after landing, a heavily armed American diplomatic motorcade was also filmed driving in Moscow.
Ratcliffe held direct talks with his Russian intelligence colleagues, not with Putin. However, Putin was briefed on the details once Ratcliffe left.
My schizo guess - he asked Russia to betray Iran, and go easier on Ukraine. I doubt he got what he wanted.

A weird diplomatic situation between Trump and Zelensky.
Donald Trump stated that both Russia and Ukraine have already agreed on a ceasefire. Zelenskyy officially stated that this is a surprise for him. He also refused to comply with Trump's demand to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries, unless Russia promises to not attack Ukraine as well. If Trump insists - he might halt the military intelligence help for Ukraine, which will affect the war - bigly.
Later, Trump seemingly got angry from Zelensky's official reply, and demanded his resignation as well. Ukraine is now actively consulting with the EU partners.
Meanwhile back in the US of A, the Right believes that Zelensky's stubborness helps the Left in the November 3 congressional elections.
All this diplomatic nonsense aside - the biggest war in Europe since WW2 is still on-going.
