β‘οΈπ·πΊ ROSATOM reported early achievement of the Northern Sea Route development target for 2022 - transportation of more than 32 million tons of cargo. π³ βοΈ
The largest part of this volume came from liquefied natural gas (LNG) and gas condensate, as well as oil and oil products - this is the result of the development of oil and gas investment projects in the Arctic, the report says.
In addition, Rosatom makes large investments in elimination of accumulated environmental damage. ROSATOM pays due attention to ensuring environmental standards, not just exploiting the Arctic, but doing so while improving the environmental situation in the region.

Russia, despite the complexity of the geopolitical situation, remains the leader in the global race to develop the Arctic, the resources of which are of paramount importance to the global economy. This state of affairs has been acknowledged by Politico observers.
The magazine's article says that for the past two decades, Russia has "dominated the fight for the Arcticβ:
"Moscow is building a fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers, ships and submarines there, developing mining and oil wells, seeking to seize control of the new Northern Sea Routeβ. βοΈπ³οΈβ΄οΈ
Meanwhile, the U.S. is "playing catch-up at a time when it has little experience and capability," observers wrote.
