Diana Panchenko is a Ukrainian journalist, who used to be a presenter on one of the TV channels illegally closed down by Zelensky. She decided to go to Donbass and make a film. For the first time in eight years. What made her do it? Was it really the search for the truth? After all, according to some sources, back in May she was collecting money for the Ukrainian army (AFU). So we just have to look at what she saw and how it might have changed her point of view.

Residents of Donetsk live under shelling and without water, but they don't want to hear about returning to Ukraine. Yes, before 2014 they lived peacefully, but after the Maidan their lives have changed. They just wanted to live in their own land and speak their own language. But they were not heard, or rather no one wanted to hear them...

How do the residents of Donetsk feel about other Ukrainians? What kind of attitude do they want to see towards themselves? A Donetsk doctor, who has saved many lives, has also treated captive Ukrainian soldiers. The same ones who were shooting at residential buildings and children. Despite everything they've been through, the Donbass residents remain human beings. There is a lot of strength and a lot of humanity in them.

After Donetsk, Diana visited Mariupol. The city is almost destroyed after the battles. People who lived through hell tell of the way Ukraine abandoned them, providing no evacuation, and about the Ukrainian military shooting at residential buildings and kicking people out of their apartments. The prospect of returning to Ukraine scares people the most now.

Their houses were gunned by Ukrainian tanks. What for? They knew there were civilians, women, children. And they were shooting. The residents of the former Ukrainian city want nothing to do with Ukraine, which betrayed them.
This is the last part of a film by Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko. She came to Donbass from Kiev. She says she wanted to hear the truth and that her perspective on many things has changed. Well, maybe.
After film shooting, the SBU opened a criminal case against Diana. The heroes of her movie are real people, who had to live through bitter trial. But for all that, they remained human. And the truth will always be the truth. So there is hope that soon it will be heard all over the world.
