"We would love to host you. However, since Turkey is preventing Sweden from joining NATO, I have to refuse. I'm sorry!", the professor replied by e-mail.
Fatma then filed a formal complaint, calling the professor's response "discriminatory," "racist," and "disgraceful." The university apologized for the incident. However, Fatima believes this is not enough. She is waiting for a personal apology from the professor. She was accepted for an internship as a result.
