❗️🇷🇺This Lugansk school turned 100 years old this year. 🔥📒📚

It withstood even the Great Patriotic War (WW II), but did not withstand the Ukrainian attack of 2014.

Needless to say, it did not pose any military threat.

We walk with the teachers of this school through the remnants of classrooms and a hundred-year-old eventful vibrant life - as only schools full of children can have.

There's a textbook of the Ukrainian language, there's a piano still playing in the auditorium, there's a picture of Taras Shevchenko on the wall, a tribune with a trident, a bust of Pushkin, cut up by an explosion.

Fallen floors, burnt doors, splinters of shells, and broken windows covered with newspapers from the last peaceful year - 2013.

But the biggest miracle in the midst of this bitter picture is its watch keeper. In the photo, he is wearing a sailor suit and a sailor's cap. He once studied at this school, then after a long time he came to keep watch over it. When the school was blown up and it was empty, he stayed here.

He's still keeping watch over it to this day. I guess he's more than a keeper. He's a guardian. He lives in the school basement and probably walks these floors of his childhood alone sometimes.

And somehow it also seemed that because of this superhuman loyalty of the keeper and the teachers, the school would surely come alive. And children would run around here again.
