↪️ ‘Look at’ means that you are viewing something.

‘He is looking at the ocean through his binoculars.’

↪️ ‘Look to’ means that you are planning to do something.

‘He’s looking to join a karate club in January.’

↪️ It can also be a way of saying that you are counting on or relying on someone.

‘I am looking to Peter and Paul to help with the preparations.’

↪️ 'Looking into' is used when you are studying or investigating something, or are trying to gather further information to make a decision at a later point in time.

‘I am looking into buying a live Christmas tree this year.’

What do you make of people using the word “real,” as in “he did real good,” (yes, I know that “good” is also incorrect)or, “real simple”?

™️Answer:

This is often heard in the USA in spoken English and is an accepted form in spoken American English but not in written American English.

In terms of strict ‘grammatical’ correctness it should be, of course:

🔹He did very well ..
🔹Really simple …

However, spoken English has a way of perverting the course of grammar rules and conform more to local, regional or national patterns of usage!

In the United Kingdom and Australia, for example, you would not use this either in spoken or written English.
