International students attend awards ceremony in Moscow 🏆
ITMO students Ricardo Augusto, Ramin Jalalpoor, and Hasan Dabbas were honored as prize winners at the awards ceremony of the poetry contest Victory in the Hearts of Generations.
The event took place at the Victory Museum in Moscow. After receiving their awards, the invitees enjoyed a guided tour of the museum’s exhibition commemorating the Great Patriotic War.
Afterwards the students, along with other winners from universities across Russia, traveled to St. Petersburg to explore the main sights in the city and its suburbs.

I’ve always been curious about the world. I’ve traveled a lot, and Russia has always fascinated me. It’s very different from the US. I had already visited several times before and wanted to improve my Russian. It’s spoken in many countries, so learning it really opens up a rich world of culture, literature, and geography.

The 21st Bike Ride with the Rector is tomorrow 🚴
First off, congratulations to our giveaway winner, Hamza Yuksel, who gets a free bike for the day!
We look forward to seeing everyone at the ride tomorrow! For the best experience, here are some tips if you weren’t able to secure a bike via the registration form:
⚫️ The route may include areas restricted for kicksharing services. To avoid any issues, we recommend renting a regular bicycle rather than an e-bike/e-scooter.
⚫️ Around the starting point of the ride, there are several designated parking areas of SmartBike, a stationless bike rental service. Be sure to download the app to check bike availability in advance!
⚫️ Another option is to rent from Velomarka. In this case, you may find it more convenient to arrive via the Begovaya metro station and then get to the starting point by bike.
⚫️ If you happen to be a bit late or can’t find the gathering point on the day of the ride, please contact our volunteers: Timofey and Ekaterina.

Reconnecting with our alumni 🇺🇿
During a recent work trip to Uzbekistan, Marina Serova, the head of ITMO’s International Students Learning and Support Center, and Georgy Maslov, the deputy head of ITMO’s International Educational Programs Department, met with ITMO alumni in Samarkand. This informal meetup was an opportunity to learn about our graduates’ professional journeys after their studies at ITMO.
👨🎓 We had the chance to catch up with one of the participants, Saijon Turaev, a Master’s graduate and a current PhD student in information security at ITMO, to learn more about his experience at the university:

Thanks to ITMO, I’ve acquired a lot of skills in information security, and I now work in this field at Yandex. I am very impressed by the lecturers, who are kind and helpful, especially to international students. During my studies, I’ve made many friends from different cities. It’s a very modern and beautiful university.
It’s always a pleasure to reconnect with our alumni!
