UNI and Cedar Falls High School graduate Ivan Raiklin to attend Homecoming and the close of UNI’s 150th anniversary

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Ivan E. Raiklin, a Cedar Falls High School and University of Northern Iowa graduate, will be in Cedar Falls on Friday and Saturday for UNI Homecoming and the closing events of the university’s sesquicentennial.

On Friday, Raiklin will be at the Bash, 5:00–9:30, central campus (Campanile Lawn, Lawther Field, Schindler Field). Drone show 9:30, the first one UNI has done and Campaniling until midnight at Campanile Plaza.

Saturday’s public events include the Homecoming 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m. at Campanile Plaza; the Homecoming Parade at 11 a.m. through downtown Cedar Falls; the UNI ROTC (from which he was commissioned in 2000) Alumni Homecoming Banquet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Nielsen Field House; and the Panthers’ Homecoming football game against North Dakota at 4 p.m. at the UNI-Dome.

Raiklin, a former Green Beret and Special Forces and intelligence officer, served more than two decades with the Department of Defense and the Defense Intelligence Agency. A graduate of UNI with a B.A. in Russian and Spanish from UNI. He is a Bronze Star recipient, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and practices as a constitutional attorney.

Homecoming 2026, themed “The Future is Purple,” closes both UNI’s 150th anniversary and the “Our Tomorrow” campaign.
