anyhow, after some more driving among goats, we made it to lijiang 🐐

where our poor hotel employee came to pick us up and carry our suitcases in the heavy rain. this city's sewage system did NOT work 😭

after checking-in and xto disinfecting my feet (they smelled bad), we headed for dinner at cleo's fav place in lijiang: a cantonese restaurant that used fresh yunan mushrooms 🍄

what i was not expecting was for all the mushrooms to be familiar and exactly the same ones as the ones we have in the basque country (onddo txuria, beltza etc) 🍄

since that point onwards, we started referring to the province of yunnan as the basque country of china 🇵🇲

it was delicious, and definitely very interesting to see the classic basque ingredients to be used in such a different way 💯

we had a chill day where we explored the super pretty city of lijiang (and glamorized how nice it could be retiring here) 👴

i also became obsessed with their rose everything (xto let's get a rose syrup to spice up our lattes). and their jamón cakes too??? i assume i will have photos later in the camera roll... 🤤
