County records shared in the chat of the La Quinta Inn and the Denny's that the County bought — they were appraised for under $4,000,000 — but the county paid quite a bit more right?

LenexaShelter.com is reporting the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) spent $6 million in taxpayer dollars to buy the property.

But, county records show that the properties were appraised for $3.872 million.

Why did the county pay over $2 million above the county appraisal of the 2 properties?

So clearly the property was in major need of upgrades, repairs and code violations — as they are spending almost as much as the properties were appraised for to bring them up to code...
