📗What Does It Mean to Be #Muslim?
Allaah created the Jinn and Mankind to worship Him alone. Linguistically worship means submission.
Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah clarified that worship is a comprehensive term for everything that Allaah loves and is pleased with from Statements and Actions both inward and outward. This includes fulfilling commandments of Allaah and staying away from prohibitions.

Shaytaan whispered to previous generations, telling them to look at the pious generations that came before them. Make pictures and statues of them to encourage you to worship Allaah. With the next generation, he told them, look at those statues, your forefathers made them so that you worship them. This generation was the first to fall into shirk. Nuh was sent to these people, calling them back to the purpose of life (worshipping Allaah alone) and calling them back to the obedience. Most of them refused and as such they were punished by Allaah.

Rectification of the hearts starts with knowing Allaah, His Names and Attributes. Knowing His Majesty, His Perfection. There are 2 conditions for an action to be accepted, 1) Sincerity (Performing the actions solely for Allaah). 2) Following the Sunnah (Sticking to the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah when performing the action.)
