Recovered videos we did reading chapters of popular Fiqh books regarding fasting. It’s a good time to brush up on the rulings and learn some Arabic at the same time.

In this video, I did a recap in English of the entire Book of Fasting from al-Fiqh al-Muyassar. It may be beneficial to share with those who are not studying Arabic and just want to know the rulings quickly.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

It is not too late to benefit from our live classes in Ramadan covering Surahs consisting of just 30 Āyāt: Sūrah al-Fajr, Sūrah al-Mulk and Sūrah as-Sajdah.

Each day we cover one Ayah from each Sūrah, going over the meanings of each word, the grammatical analysis and the tafseer.

Each classes is less than 20 minutes, most less than 10.

All timings are Makkah time:
Sūrah al-Fajr is at 9:00 pm
Sūrah al-Mulk is at 9:20 pm
Sūrah as-Sajdah is at 9:40 pm

As I try to do each year, I will be reading a text related to Ramadan and fasting. The purpose is to review the rulings of fasting while learning the Arabic language at the same time. We previously read related sections from ‘Umdat-ul-Fiqh, Manhaj as-Salikin, al-Fiqh al-Muyassar.

This year, we will read from a new book which has gathered all of the fiqh views of Shaykh al-Albani and organized them like other fiqh books such as those mentioned above.

I scanned the pages we will read and made them available for you to check out now and prepare any questions you might have so we can we be prepared to address them in class. You can download the chapter here: https://t.me/learnarabicthrureading/679

We will begin class on the 8th of Sha’ban, 1445 which coincides with Feb 18, 2024. Classes will be al-Ahad thru al-Khamis (Sun-Thu) at 5:30am Makkah time (you must convert that to your time zone).
With only 40+/- days left before Ramadan begins, it is not too late.

You can still make major progress in understanding the Qur’an in its original Arabic language.

40 easy lessons with 5 reviews in between sections. You could finish before Ramadan or within the first few days.

All lessons are prerecorded so you can study at your own pace.

Oh yeah, it’s free! As it should be.

Summarized Fiqh from the Works of Imam al-Albani
by Sulayman Mubarak

Al-Hamdillah, we were able to read the sections on Fasting from the above mentioned book summarizing Shaykh al-Albani’s fiqh opinions which can be found here: Al-Albani's Fiqh of Fasting
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiPyzmIYxE3m2MZxhVI2g4tzbAEDRwPDs . And al-hamdillah, we received an abundance of positive feedback and many expressed a desire to read the entire book.

Great news! I have decided to do just that. Starting the 5th of Sha’ban, 1445, corresponding to 14th of April, 2024, from al-Ahad (Sun) to al-Khamis (Thu) at 5am Makkah time.

The PDF will be made available before classes begin. Each student should print the book out so they can write notes in it and carry it with them for practice. The students are recommended to read a few pages before class and try to understand them as best as possible on their own; this will make the amount of new vocabulary in the class less and make learning easier. It will also allow the student to constantly gauge their own abilities.

Then when in class, the students will take turns reading different sections and translating the meanings. I will be there to help guide them if needed and mention the evidence - taken from the footnotes - that the Shaykh used for his opinion when his opinion is different than the popular opinion. Students should take notes of new vocabulary words and usages along with other points of interest.

After class, the student should read the sections we covered in class that day a few times throughout the day. This should not take more than 5-10 minutes each reading. They can use their notes when needed to make sure they can read and translate/understand the text on their own. And before the next day they should read a few new pages and the cycle will continue.

For example, if class is after Isha for the student. He should reread the material we covered in class after Fajr, Dhuhr and Asr. Then after Maghrib they read the next 2-3 pages that we will cover in the next class. On the weekends, they should read what was read throughout the week once or twice.

Like this, one will gain vocabulary which is the main element of any language. And they will gain Islamic knowledge based on the works of a famous Imam of our era at the same time.

Summarized Fiqh from the Works of Imam al-Albani is 245 pages including a few recommendations for the book by students of Imam al-Albani as well as the introduction of the author where he explains the reason for writing the book and his methodology in doing so. We will not read the recommendations but we will read the introduction of the author so that we understand what to expect from the book.

After reading these 200+ pages the students will have gained a wealth of vocabulary in various subjects; key vocabulary and basic grammar that will enable them to begin studying other Islamic books.

We will read until just before Hajj time which is the same time as summer break and then continue after the summer. In sha Allāh we should be done reading the book in the winter time. I imagine it will take 3-5 months in total; a month and a half before summer and 2-3 months after summer.

If the student wants more during the summer time, there are plenty of other books that we have already read on my channel that they can study.
