•Do you know that 71% of adolescent girls in India are unaware of menstruation until they experience it themselves?
•Do you know only 36% of India's females use sanitary napkins, while the rest use life threatening materials to manage their flow?
With statistics as grave as these, we can't choose to remain in an oblivion.
_“Be the change you wish to see in the world”_
With that idea at heart, this International Women’s Day, Little India Foundation and Nari Shakti in collaboration with NSS UNIT, Dyal Singh Evening College is organising a *Sanitary Napkin Distribution Drive* to contribute towards menstrual hygiene, a topic that is still kept behind closed doors and black plastic bags.
With this donation drive we aim to reach women from extremely vulnerable & underprivileged section, who fall prey to poor menstrual hygiene due to discrimination and taboos associated thereto and help break silence & create awareness about the negative social norms that surrounds menstruation while also empowering self esteemed of such women.
We will make sure we reach the right people and widen our efforts against period poverty and we shall make a difference together.
Students who would be helping on distribution must wear mask and carry your sanitizer for safety reasons. Do join us on this distribution and be a helping hand to someone in-need. "It's not a shameful act"
