#Update on the technical issue affecting the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) system for buses.
We’ll be resetting the ETA system from 8pm today, 21 Jan. During this period, commuters can’t see bus arrival timings at bus stops, interchanges and on mobile apps.
Rest assured, buses will continue to operate at their usual frequencies. Commuters who wish to check the frequency can refer to the websites of SimplyGo and the Public Transport Operators (PTOs).
We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and will update once the ETA system is restored.

#Update We’ve found the root cause of the intermittent transmission issue affecting the Expected Time of Arrival (#ETA) system for buses.
Our engineers and contractor detected that a memory cache build-up in the on-board systems was disrupting data transmission in about 50% of buses across all operators.
We’ve started reconfiguring the system and clearing the cache, which includes physical servicing of onboard bus devices. As this is a large scale effort, we estimate it will take around 4 days to complete.
From the start of passenger service tomorrow, 23 Jan, we’ll switch on the ETA system to conduct testing and stabilise the operations. During this period, commuters will see more than 60% of bus arrival timings, though some may be inaccurate as the system is still under testing. This should gradually become less common as we progressively restore the system.
Bus services will continue running at normal frequencies.
Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.

#Update on the restoration of bus Expected Time of Arrival (#ETA) system
✅ 85% of bus arrival timings will be restored by tomorrow morning, following the completion of manual firmware updates for the 3000 affected buses.
We’ve also identified another 1000 buses that require similar updates, which will be carried out over the next week, after service hours.

#Update Bus arrival time predictions have now been restored to above 90% 🚌
✅ Since 21 Jan, we’ve been working with the contractor to restore the system’s performance, which included clearing the memory cache and and manually updating firmware on all affected buses. In some cases, the transmitters were also replaced.
👀 Commuters can check bus arrival timings at bus stops and interchanges, as well as on the MyTransport.SG app and other third-party apps.
We have also started upgrading the fare and bus fleet management systems, which will be completed over the next two years.
We thank commuters for your patience and understanding during this period.
