Tutorial to fix sensor loss on Mi A3

By: @paul_vity

Loss of sensors (automatic brightness, gyroscope, proximity, GPS, screen rotation, etc.) in Android 10 STOCK ROM
Note: it is not the same as the loss of sensors when downgrading Android 10 to 9 (tutorial in the group)

The reason for the loss of these sensors is due to the use of TWRP, which, when installed on our MI A3, corrupts the PERSIST partition of the system, because it uses it to save the cache of said recovery.
We have verified that by installing the recovery SHRP or SKY Hawk, this does not affect said partition and we have no problems with the sensors

This failure of the sensors occurs, or we realize it, when we have returned to the stock rom of Android 10, from a custom rom where we have installed TWRP, either to flash the ROM, or to have root or install a kernel

It does not happen to everyone, that is, what happens when we have flashed the TWRP recovery many times, such as if we have installed MIUI 11 from Bitnet, which already has this recovery, and we have returned, from that rom to Android 10 several times in a short period of time

• STEP 1: backup Persist.img

1-Be root with Magisk (group tutorials)
2-Install the free app TERMINAL EMULATOR from the Play Store
3-We will make a backup of PERSIST from TERMINAL, to have that partition saved in case something goes wrong, writing the following codes in Terminal
"SU" plus enter, it will ask us to grant Magisk root permissions in a window, we check accept
"dd if = / dev / block / by-name / persist of = / sdcard / persist.img" plus enter

We will have the persist.img file saved in the internal memory of our phone, of which we will make a copy on our computer just in case

• STEP 2: Clear TWRP cache from Persist

1-we will install a root explorer like Solid Explorer, Roor Explorer, etc in our MiA3
2-open the explorer, go to the root section, and look for the following route:
     mnt / vendor / persist / cache
We will delete that cache folder

• STEP 3: Flash Android 9 stock on Miflash

1-search and download the Android 9 stock rom you want and flash it by Miflash (group tutorials)
2-when it finishes we let it restart, without the need to configure, and we return to fastboot mode

• STEP 4: Flashing Android 10 stock by Miflash

1-search and download, the latest version of the stock rom Android 10 MiA3, whether global or European
2-we let it restart and configure it to our liking

With this last step, you should fix the sensors, but if not, go back to your steps and repeat the process, verifying what you have done wrong

This process has been tested by the Group Staff and works perfectly.
