Differences between NAND S5E and S6E in iPhone 17 Series

When replacing the NAND of the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models, it's crucial to identify whether the chip belongs to the S5E or S6E architecture.

What's the importance of this
If the original device uses S5E and you install an S6E, the recording process may present flaws — such as progress bar locked after the Apple logo, continuous rotation, or 2009/35 errors in the restore.

Possible solutions:
Replace with an NAND of the same architecture (S5E) or adjust the identification resistors as shown in the picture.

Identification of the Resistors:
S5E: 1 Remover, 2 Jumper
S6E: 1 jumper, 2 remove

Compatible NAND models:
S5E: Toshiba K5A5-512, K5A8-1T, K6B2-1T, Hynix HN3T3C-1T, HN3T 3D-1T
S6E: Toshiba K5B4–512, K8A8–512, K8A9–1T, K8B2–2T, Samsung IG–2T, Hynix 2NB–256, 4NB–512, ANB–2T
