Most of us know some form of protection is important - but many arenโ€™t sure whether what they have today would really be enough if something serious happens.

If you or your loved ones ever wonder - "why did i even buy this much of coverage?" or "do i have enough coverage", dm me with "DEBIA" and i will show you how to effectively calculate your very own coverage requirement amount to "Don't Ever Buy Insurance Again"

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿค– Investors Sound the Alarm on AI Overspending ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿง

According to Bank of Americaโ€™s latest fund manager survey, a record 35% of investors now believe corporations are overinvesting, the highest level of skepticism in two decades.

While overall market sentiment remains bullish, the plan to spend $650 billion on AI infrastructure in 2026 has triggered significant anxiety.

Approximately 30% of respondents identified this massive AI capital expenditure as the most likely source of a future credit crisis, while a quarter of participants flatly labeled the current AI boom a โ€œbubble.โ€

This skepticism is manifesting as a major rotation trade, with investors slashing their tech exposure from a net 19% overweight to just 5% in a single month.

As the โ€œgrowth at any costโ€ narrative cracks, capital is fleeing expensive tech heavyweights in favor of tangible and cyclical sectors. Investors are aggressively rotating into energy, materials, and consumer staples, while moving away from the US dollar and into European and emerging markets.

This shift has also fueled a resurgence in small-cap stocks, which are now seeing their highest overweight positioning relative to large caps since 2021.

๐Ÿ’ป Rampant AI Demand for Memory Is Fueling a Growing Chip Crisis ๐Ÿ”ฅ

A severe global shortage of memory chips is causing a spike in prices, potentially threatening profit margins for tech giants like Apple and Tesla while inflating costs for everyday electronics.

The crisis is driven by the insatiable appetite of AI hyperscalers, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, who are projected to spend $650 billion on AI infrastructure in 2026 alone.

Memory leaders like Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix have diverted their production lines to high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI accelerators, leaving the rest of the world fighting over a dwindling supply of DRAM chips.

Some memory costs soared 75% in a single month, and DRAM could soon account for 30% of the total cost of a smartphone.

Graphics card is a luxury item now :(

๐Ÿ“Š Objective Financeโ€™s 2 Cents on 2026โ€™s Market โœจ

A lot of you guys have asked me recently whether 2026 feels โ€œdifferentโ€, especially with markets getting more volatile, and people talking about AI bubbles etc.

Instead of giving a surface-level answer, I took some time to compile a concise research brief explaining whatโ€™s (I believe is) actually happening behind the scenes, from the Fedโ€™s standing repo facility usage, to tightening liquidity conditions, to how Japanโ€™s bond market shift could ripple globally.

Btw this isnโ€™t a fear piece, itโ€™s a preparedness piece.

The goal is simple:
To help you understand what to watch, what matters, and how we position portfolios responsibly if conditions tighten further.

As always, if anything raises questions about your own portfolio, letโ€™s have a proper conversation.

They are closing in SG.

This reminds us cheap fees as a USP always has a con in the long term - business unsustainability.

This reminds me of brokerages and robo advisors who pride themselves over having low fees.

What is the true long term consequence?

โ˜„๏ธ Bet on the Fed: Traders Shift Toward Lower Rates for 2027 โฌ‡๏ธ

Traders are significantly shifting their expectations for the Federal Reserveโ€™s next moves, betting that the central bank will keep cutting interest rates through 2027 rather than hiking them.

This change is visible in the market for SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) futures and options, financial instruments used to bet on where interest rates are headed.

Until recently, the consensus was that the Fed would lower rates briefly this year and then raise them again in 2027. However, fears that AI might disrupt the job market and drive up unemployment have flipped that narrative; traders now see a prolonged easing cycle where the Fed must keep rates low to support the economy.

This dovish shift is most evident in a surge of defensive trades. For instance, some investors are buying options that would pay out if the Fedโ€™s policy rate falls as low as 2% by the end of 2026, far below current market projections of around 3.1%.

While some analysts warn that these long-term predictions are notoriously volatile, the trend suggests a growing belief that the AI boom might be more of a threat to labor than an inflationary spark.

As a result, the yield curve is flattening, signaling that the market is bracing for a period of cooling growth rather than the โ€œhigher-for-longerโ€ interest rate environment many expected just a few months ago.

๐Ÿšจ US & Israel Launch Strikes on Iran ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

The United States and Israel have launched coordinated military strikes on Iran today, "Operation Epic Fury", by the Pentagon. Explosions were reported in Tehran, and Iran launched missiles toward Israel in response.

What we know currently:
โ€ข Trump said the operation aims to eliminate Iran's nuclear threat and urged Iranians to overthrow their government, warning "bombs will be dropping everywhere"

โ€ข Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei was moved to a secure location

โ€ข Iran vowed a "crushing retaliation" and previously warned it would strike US bases in neighbouring countries

โ€ข Israel closed schools, workplaces, and its airspace

โ€ข Israeli PM Netanyahu called it a pre-emptive strike to give Iranians a chance to "remove the yoke of tyranny"

โ€ข The operation was planned for months in coordination between Washington and Tel Aviv

โ€ข The attack comes after a 12-day Israel-Iran air war in June 2025 and nuclear negotiations in February 2026 ended with no deal

โ€ข OPEC+ is now weighing a bigger oil output hike in response

๐Ÿ’ก Market watch: If this escalates, oil/gas risk premiums usually rise first, which can feed into inflation and transport costs (even for Singapore). Markets may turn risk-off (stocks choppier, volatility up), with safe havens like USD and JPY (and sometimes gold) maybe catching a bid. Typical sector split: energy/defense up, airlines/travel down.

General info only, not financial advice.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ LPA Form 1 now FREEEEE for Singaporeans (from 1 Apr 2026)๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

If you or your family havenโ€™t done your Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) yet, this is a big nudge: application fee for LPA Form 1 will be waived permanently for Singaporeans (previously ~$70).

Why it matters:
โ€ข LPA lets you appoint someone you trust to handle your money / property + personal welfare if you ever lose mental capacity (eg dementia, stroke, accident).

๐Ÿ“Œ As of Feb 2026, ~404k Singaporeans (~1 in 7) have an LPA. For those 65+, about 1 in 4 already done.

โš ๏ธ Note: Application is free, but you still pay the certification fee (doctor/lawyer/psychiatrist), which ranges from ~$24 to $300+.

*Form 1 = standard (covers ~98% of cases) // Form 2 = customised powers, needs a lawyer
