Moving averages remain common at the retail level, while many execution systems benchmark fills against VWAP. Large order execution is typically evaluated versus the volume-weighted average price, with accumulation more likely below VWAP and distribution more likely above it.

An anchored VWAP implementation for MT4 is positioned to address the lack of a native session-based VWAP. The calculation anchors to the start of a selected session (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) and maintains a cumulative VWAP without repainting on subsequent bars.

The VWAP line is derived from Typical Price (H+L+C)/3 weighted by tick volume to approximate session “fair value”. Standard deviation bands are added above and below VWAP to highlight statistically stretched conditions; touches near the second deviation are commonly treated as overextension in quantitative workflows.

Institutional execution logic often clusters around round-number levels where liquidity is consistently available. These zones commonly become reference points for block placement, order matching, and risk management, especially during macro-driven sessions.

The Institutional Psychological Levels indicator renders these levels directly on MT4, replacing the default grid with structured round-number mapping. It emphasizes major 1000 and 500-point levels (BRN) and keeps the layout adaptive to the symbol’s price scale across FX, metals, and indices.

Implementation details focus on terminal stability: optimized MQL4, zero-lag rendering, and calculations limited to the visible chart range to reduce overhead during volatility spikes.

Operational use cases include profit targets and protective stop placement around 000/500 areas. Low-volume approaches o...

MetaTrader 4’s built-in trailing stop uses a fixed pip distance. In changing volatility regimes, fixed offsets create inconsistent risk: stops can be oversized in quiet markets and overly tight during fast moves, increasing early stop-outs.

A volatility-based alternative is to trail using Average True Range (ATR). The stop distance is recalculated from current ATR and applied as ATR × multiplier, adjusting to current conditions while tightening as price advances.

Operational features typically include auto-breakeven logic, moving Stop Loss to entry plus a small buffer once a defined profit threshold is reached. Trade coverage can be configured to manage manual orders on the symbol or positions opened by other EAs via Magic Number filtering.

Common inputs: ATR period (often 14), multiplier (commonly 2.0–3.0), breakeven enablement and activation pips, and Magic N...

An RSI variant has been released that applies a Kalman Filter to the input series while keeping the standard RSI interpretation. The intent is to reduce short-term noise in the oscillator without changing common threshold logic such as overbought and oversold levels.

The indicator is displayed in a separate subwindow, consistent with typical RSI layouts. This build is described as the latest fixed version, addressing prior issues and aiming for stable behavior in live charts and backtests.

An indicator implements a Stochastic oscillator crossover model, generating signals when the %K line crosses the %D line. The logic is designed to highlight momentum shifts and potential reversals with both early warnings and close-confirmed events.

Buy conditions trigger on a bullish crossover where %K moves above %D while positioned in the oversold zone. Sell conditions trigger on a bearish crossover where %K moves below %D while positioned in the overbought zone.

Two alert modes are supported. Real-time alerts display arrows and notifications during the forming bar for provisional setups. Confirmed alerts are produced after bar close, marking validated crossovers with arrows and optional vertical lines for clearer post-signal review.

Breaker block detection adds the missing layer after an order block fails. When price closes through an existing order block, the zone flips polarity and is reclassified as a breaker with the opposite bias.

A broken bearish order block that closes upward becomes a bullish breaker and is treated as support. A broken bullish order block that closes downward becomes a bearish breaker and is treated as resistance. Breakers are drawn with a distinct visual style and separate coloring from regular order blocks.

The logic includes mitigation tracking when price returns to retest the breaker. Mitigated zones can be removed, faded, or kept, with limits on how many breakers remain on chart. Swing strength for the underlying structure is configurable. Alerts trigger on new breaker formation and on mitigation events across all timeframes.

Tooling update for discretionary and systematic traders: automated detection and mapping of DOL targets, the next likely liquidity objectives on the chart.

Supported levels include Previous Day/Week/Month High and Low (PDH/PDL, PWH/PWL, PMH/PML), Equal Highs and Equal Lows (EQH/EQL), plus untested FVGs above and below current price.

Targets are labeled and color-coded by category, with an optional “Nearest DOL” panel showing distance in pips. Levels can be filtered by type, trigger alerts as price approaches, and are removed once reached. Compatible across all timeframes.

Directional context comes from projected objectives rather than current location.

The December 2021 TASC article “The DMH: An Improved Directional Movement Indicator” outlines John Ehlers’ update to classic directional movement by applying Hann windowing.

Directional movement has been used in technical analysis for decades. The original formulation by J. Welles Wilder was constrained by the compute limits of its era, which favored simpler calculations. Ehlers argues that current tooling makes a more modern implementation practical.

DMH typically defaults to Wilder’s 14-bar setting, but the period is treated as a parameter that can be selected by the trader or optimized when embedded in a systematic strategy.

This version adds optional visual states: color shifts on slope change, on zero-line crossover, or no color changes to match the classic presentation. Period sensitivity testing is recommended before using DMH-derived signals.

A confluence detector identifies price zones where Fibonacci retracement levels from multiple swing pairs align.

The algorithm selects 4–5 significant swing points, calculates 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, and 78.6% levels for each swing pair, then scans for clusters where two or more levels converge within a configurable tolerance. Zones are ranked by density, with more overlapping levels treated as higher strength.

Confluence areas are rendered as shaded rectangles and color-coded by strength: yellow for 2 matches, orange for 3, and red for 4 or more. Labels list the contributing levels, while individual Fibonacci lines can be enabled or hidden. An alert triggers when price enters a strong zone.

Runs on all timeframes, with typical use on H1, H4, and D1.

The December 2020 issue of TASC featured John Ehlers’ MyRsi with Noise Elimination Technology (NET). The design applies a Kendall-style autocorrelation approach to reduce noise and suppress low-quality RSI swings.

This variant allows selecting the input price series instead of relying on a fixed close, enabling alignment with different data conventions such as typical price or weighted close.

Operationally it can be treated like a standard RSI, with the added NET line as a second confirmation layer. In comparative chart reviews, the NET line often reacts earlier while keeping fewer false transitions, which can improve signal clarity when combined with traditional RSI thresholds.

An MT4 port of the MyRsi variant originally described by John Ehlers has been released, matching the behavior of the earlier MT5 build.

This RSI formulation differs from the platform’s built-in RSI in both scaling and signal interpretation. Output is normalized to the -1 to 1 range, making the zero line a practical reference for directional bias and cross-based signals.

Because the value distribution is not comparable to the standard 0–100 RSI, common thresholds such as 50 do not translate directly. Any rule set based on built-in RSI levels should be recalibrated for this implementation.

Operational guidance remains straightforward: treat it as an RSI-style oscillator, but validate levels and crossings against the new range before using it in automation.

GlowTrend Pro is a trend-following indicator focused on visual state changes and reduced noise via a smoothed moving average. The plot switches color based on slope to flag momentum direction.

Blue line signals bullish momentum, while red line signals bearish momentum. “Glow” dots are printed at the moment the state flips and can be treated as timing markers for entry or exit review.

The indicator supports configurable period, averaging method (EMA, SMA, Smoothed, Linear Weighted), and price source (Close/Open/High/Low). Linked-buffer logic is used to keep transitions continuous and avoid broken segments on the chart. Default lookback is 20; higher values smooth output at the cost of latency.

Operational guidance typically pairs a color change with the corresponding dot. Common use cases include H1/H4 for swing setups and M5 during high-volatility s...

An interactive MT4 script consolidates per-symbol trading parameters into a single view, combining MarketInfo and validated SymbolInfo data. It targets operational fields such as margin requirements, contract size, currency conversion rates, and leverage, reducing reliance on broker documentation for day-to-day checks.

Symbol selection is driven by the Market Watch list with support for “Select”, which is relevant on servers carrying large symbol catalogs. Output is organized with MarketInfo values in the left column, and SymbolInfoInteger/String/Double values in the center and right columns.

A MODE_LEVERAGE line is included, derived per symbol as:
Leverage = Bid * ContractSize * Rate(profit currency to account currency) / MarginRequired.

Aura Heiken Ashi is a trend-following indicator built to reduce noise and focus on higher-probability entries. It extends classic Heiken Ashi with multiple confirmation layers intended to keep signals aligned with the prevailing market direction.

Core logic combines dual smoothing (SMMA plus EMA), dynamic supply and demand lines from recent imbalances, and a 200 EMA trend gate that permits bullish signals only above the line and bearish signals only below it. Momentum checks are validated with CCI and MACD, while ADX suppresses low-quality periods by switching candles to gray in low-volatility ranges. Tick volume is compared to local averages to confirm participation.

Operational rules: green candles favor longs above the 200 EMA, ideally near demand. Red candles favor shorts below the 200 EMA, ideally near supply. Gray candles indicate no trade. Con...

RSI histogram bars based on two periods can be implemented by calculating separate RSI values, applying smoothing to each series, then plotting the resulting delta or combined signal as a histogram. The approach typically uses a fast RSI for responsiveness and a slower RSI to reduce noise, with smoothing applied via SMA, EMA, or Wilder-style averaging.

Visualization is handled by converting the final series into positive and negative bars, allowing trend shifts and momentum changes to appear without relying on line crossings. Common additions include zero-line filtering, configurable smoothing length, and optional color changes by slope to avoid false flips during consolidation.

A utility script can be used to display full trading account information in one place, including balances, equity, margin figures, account currency, leverage, and server identifiers. This helps reduce manual checks and supports faster validation during setup and support cases.

Operational guidance is required before deployment. If account information is restricted or unavailable for a client, the script may fail or return partial fields depending on permissions and broker settings.

Email handling should be defined explicitly. Decide whether the email is added as an input parameter, read from platform settings, or stored in an external config, and ensure no sensitive account data is sent without consent and audit logging.
