Happy Thursday! #ICYMI, Minister Desmond Lee shared two initiatives yesterday where you can join other Singaporeans in making a difference in this challenging time.

(1) The Courage Fund will now be used to help healthcare workers and those affected by COVID-19. Find out more here https://www.comchest.sg/thecouragefund

(2) A centralised online platform to channel and coordinate various ground-up initiatives to address areas of need. Via this platform, Singaporeans can sign up to volunteer or contribute meaningfully. More details to come soon.

We would like to thank all our frontliners for their hard work and contribution. Let us leave a legacy and be remembered as people who gave and served in this period of our history. 💪🏻

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! 💕As we celebrate this special day with our loved one, #LetsMeet @kindnesssg’s General Secretary Dr William Wan and his wife Ruth, who are looking forward to their 5️⃣0️⃣th wedding anniversary next month!

“She was 22 and I was 17. She came from KL and we met as students at the Singapore Bible College in 1965. We lived in the same hostel and had common activities. We got married five years later. It took a lot to adjust to each other after our marriage. At first, I tried to change her to be more like me. But 50 years of marriage, three children and four grandchildren later, I have long given that up and accept her for who she is. We are two very different personalities.

My advice for a long, happy marriage is to practice the ABC of kindness. Accept and pay attention to each other, Bond by finding time to do things together, and Commit to each other. There will be ups and downs, but commitment is about loving even when you don’t feel very loving.”

#HappySaturday! Warm-hearted individuals and companies contributed more than $2 million to the Courage Fund in 2 days, with more coming in. The Courage Fund was set up 17 years ago during SARS. It will be used by Community Chest during COVID-19 to support patients, healthcare workers and vulnerable Singaporeans who are impacted.

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed, including Capitaland Hope Foundation, President’s Challenge, Far East Organization, Keppel, Great Eastern Singapore and many individuals and corporations. With your outpouring of generosity, we will be able to support the most vulnerable among us.
