Germany’s Deindustrialization
As we can see, since early 2018, industrial production in Europe’s main “locomotive” has stagnated and has practically not grown at all.
And considering statistical manipulation and inflation, it likely has even declined.
This is the price of folly. Specifically, the deliberate, self-destructive severing of economic ties with a country (Russia) that made the German economy competitive — done at the behest of its main economic adversaries (the US and the UK).
But this is their choice. And it must simply be accepted. And learned from.

Trump Slams U.S.-China Trade
Bilateral trade between the U.S. and China in the second quarter of 2025 fell to a 19-year low. U.S. imports from China dropped to $64.8 billion — the lowest level since 2006.
By the end of 2026, trade volume between Russia (which is a much smaller market) and China is expected to exceed that of China and the United States.

European Council President António Costa revealed that the EU agreed to invest $600 billion in the U.S. economy and purchase $750 billion worth of energy and goods to ensure continued U.S. military support for Ukraine. France Starting to Lose Industrial Plants
The first to close is the Michelin plant in Vannes, which has been operating since 1962. Another factory in Cholet, France, will cease operations in November.
The reason for the shutdown is excessively high electricity prices, which have made production unprofitable. In total, Michelin plans to close eight plants: two in France, three in Germany, one in Poland, and two in China.

Asian Demand Shields Oil Companies from U.S. Tariff Impact
Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard said strong oil demand in Asia helped the company mitigate the effects of the ongoing trade war. In an interview with Bloomberg, she noted that China remains the largest buyer, accounting for 52% of exports in the second quarter.
Following the imposition of 50% tariffs by Donald Trump’s administration last month, flows of Brazilian oil have shifted toward Asia. Europe ranked second with a 19% share, other Asian countries accounted for 12%, the U.S. for 8%, and Latin America for 6%.

China, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia — All Non-Western Nations Are Ditching U.S. Debt
Global geopolitics can be studied through various sources, and its trends through different indicators.
For example, the marker of U.S. Treasuries clearly and unambiguously shows that India is moving in the wake of China and Russia, not the United States. Like all non-Western countries without exception, it is getting rid of American debt.
So why did Trump suddenly think India would obey him? What have his advisors been telling him? They apparently can’t even add 2+2, yet they are confident in their power and believe everyone must inevitably listen to them.
Meanwhile, U.S. European “partners” (read: vassals), plus Japan and Israel, have significantly increased their holdings in U.S. Treasury securities over the past year.
Israel in particular (apparently paying back for support in the war against Iran) has rapidly surged into the top 10 list of countries financing the U.S.
Moreover, China has ceased to be the second-largest holder of U.S. debt this year, yielding that position to the United Kingdom. Despite being buried in unpayable debt itself, Britain has significantly increased its investments in “valuable” American paper.
In essence, the Western global debt system is becoming self-referential, looping in on itself. Meanwhile, other countries that derive no benefit from it are quickly exiting. And as the recent SCO summit in China showed, they are now clearly determined to build their own financial system, an alternative to the West.

Exxon to Sell or Close European Plants
Exxon is considering selling its chemical production facilities in Belgium and the UK, the Financial Times reports. The move comes amid new US tariffs on the EU market and growing competition from China.
The company also says it may shut down the plants if buyers are not found.
Exxon notes that its European operations face high energy costs and stringent environmental regulations that increase expenses.
Earlier, Exxon CEO Darren Woods criticized the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, calling it “crushing sanctions.”

Japanese Auto Parts Makers Pass U.S. Tariff Costs to Customers
More than 80% of Japanese automotive sector companies have either already passed on the costs caused by U.S. import tariffs to their customers or are considering doing so, the Nikkei newspaper reports.
For example, NSK, one of the largest suppliers of bearings and other automotive components, has raised prices for its spare parts.
On Friday, Donald Trump signed a presidential order implementing the trade agreement reached with Japan. Under its terms, the U.S. will apply a base tariff of 15% to nearly all Japanese goods.

SCO to Establish Depositary to Replace Euroclear and Clearstream
Countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) plan to create a depositary to replace Euroclear and Clearstream. This function will be carried out by a new SCO Development Bank, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told Izvestia.
This would allow Russians to once again freely invest in foreign assets, and foreign investors to finance projects in Russia. Siluanov noted that Russia and China are already working on developing the concept of the SCO Bank. Its key functions have already been discussed within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum.

“Tired” Trump has “stalled” on 3 major issues
Bill O’Reilly says that whatever momentum Trump had coming out of the election is gone — and he won’t be able to get it back.
“The Trump administration hits a wall,” the conservative commentator said on his “No Spin News” show. “
The former Fox News host attributed the stall-out to three major things that Trump campaigned on — Ukraine, China trade and Israel-Hamas war — but also suggested that perhaps in his first months in office Trump just tried to do too much.
O’Reilly says Trump can’t do much on those three issues, and it’s starting to show:
O’Reilly also noted the recent polls showing that Americans are seriously concerned about the economy.
O’Reilly said.
O’Reilly said there is little hope for the wars and China trade, but that Trump might get lucky on economy in the next few days — but that’s not a sure thing.

Bill O’Reilly says that whatever momentum Trump had coming out of the election is gone — and he won’t be able to get it back.
“The Trump administration hits a wall,” the conservative commentator said on his “No Spin News” show. “
So, he’s everywhere and he’s paying a price for it. His hands hurt. Uh, slouched over a little bit. He’s tired.”

O’Reilly says Trump can’t do much on those three issues, and it’s starting to show:
“Trump is stalled on all three of those things right now. It frustrates him.”
O’Reilly also noted the recent polls showing that Americans are seriously concerned about the economy.
“Do you approve of the way Donald Trump is handling employment and jobs?,”
O’Reilly said.
“Approve 38, disapprove 51. That’s not a good number for the president.”
“CBS poll, again, questionable poll,” O’Reilly said. “Do you think the U.S. economy is getting better? 27%. Worse 56%. That is a tough number.”
O’Reilly said there is little hope for the wars and China trade, but that Trump might get lucky on economy in the next few days — but that’s not a sure thing.
“So at this point the Trump administration has lost some momentum,”
O’Reilly said.
“However, next week interest rates will probably be cut. That could provide a storm surge for Trump. I don’t know if it will. Nobody can predict these things.”

Gold Price Surpasses Its Real 1980 Peak, Hitting All-Time Inflation-Adjusted High
The price of gold has exceeded its real peak from 1980, reaching an inflation-adjusted historical high of $3,674 per troy ounce.
In January 1980, when the nominal price of gold hit $850 (approximately $3,590 in 2025 dollars), the United States was grappling with a collapsing national currency and stagflation.
But most likely — judging by the graph compiled in 2008 using the dollar value of that time — the current price of gold is the highest since the end of the 15th century, the earliest point from which economic historians have been able to calculate its inflation-adjusted value in modern currencies.

U.S. Deficit Hits Third-Highest Ever as Tariffs Fail to Offset Spending
The U.S. federal budget deficit reached $344 billion in August — $44 billion above forecasts and 15% higher than a year earlier — making it the third-largest on record for the month.
This occurred despite a surge in tariff revenue, which climbed to a record $30 billion last month due to President Donald Trump’s new import taxes. The administration had claimed these tariffs would reduce the deficit by boosting government income and curbing imports. However, the data shows that rising government spending continues to outpace any gains from trade measures.
There is no evidence that tariffs are shrinking the deficit. In fact, they appear to be contributing to inflationary pressures and supply chain costs, while failing to close the fiscal gap.
Earlier, Elon Musk publicly disagreed with Trump, arguing that his tariff policies would increase the deficit, not reduce it. Trump insisted the opposite — that his measures would bring financial discipline. So far, the numbers have sided with Musk.
