Ebola is a serious and highly infectious disease, but the risk can be reduced by taking the right precautions.

Protect yourself, your loved ones and your community by making prevention a priority:

✅ Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean running water.
✅ Avoid direct contact with sick persons and their body fluids.
✅ Seek medical care early if symptoms appear.
✅ Avoid handling or consuming bush meat and wild animals.

Early detection saves lives. Stay informed, stay safe and help protect those around you.

This week, the Joint UK AMR Offer and LAFIYA AMR Project kicked off with a stakeholder meeting convening the NCDC, Federal Ministries of Health and Social Welfare, Livestock Development and Environment, UKHSA, and One Health partners.

Key priorities of the package include sustaining 10 human health sentinel sites, strengthening laboratory quality assurance and data generation, promoting antimicrobial stewardship, and improving AMR governance and subnational coordination.

The initiative will strengthen One Health collaboration, encourage domestic financing, and support the long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s AMR response.

NCDC continued its daily Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) meetings on the ongoing Ebola disease response, bringing together response pillars to review progress, coordinate activities and identify priorities across Laboratory, Surveillance, Risk Communication and Community Engagement, and other key response areas.

Under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and in collaboration with the FCT Administration, relevant MDAs and partners, NCDC continues to coordinate efforts to contain the outbreak and prevent further transmission.

Response activities include contact tracing and monitoring, mobilisation of laboratory testing kits, provision of
PPE and essential supplies to high risk
states, and investigation led by the Port
Health Services with other aviation
stakeholders.

Through coordinated action, timely information and public cooperation, we remain focused on protecting the health of Nigerians.
