This session, we explored spiritual friendship (Kalyฤแน‡a Mittatฤ). ๐Ÿ’š Being a good friend doesnโ€™t mean always saying yes, and learning to say no with kindness is also part of setting healthy boundaries.

Spiritual friendship is not just about finding good companions, but also about becoming one ourselves. By cultivating faith, virtue, generosity and wisdom, we can attract and surround ourselves with good companions who inspire us to grow in the Dhamma. ๐ŸŒฑ

May we continue to nurture wholesome friendships and become the kind of spiritual friends we hope to find! ๐Ÿƒ

Imagine being in MBS, moving from the lowest floor with its casual food court to the highest floor with its luxury shops. It must feel good to explore all the different shops, right? But what if you were stuck in this mall, moving between its different levels, unable to leave and explore the other beautiful parts of Singapore?

Thank you to everyone who joined us today!

In this session, we explored both Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Buddhist meditation. MBSR focuses on managing stress and improving well-being through practices such as mindful breathing and body scan meditation, which help increase awareness of thoughts and emotions. ๐ŸŒฟ

For Buddhist meditation, Bro Loh Wei shared how we can use the MBS scenario as a metaphor for Saแนƒsฤra and the different realms of existence. Each level represents a different realm within the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, while Nirvฤแน‡a represents liberation from this cycle. Through meditation, we learn to recognise our cravings and attachments, cultivate mindfulness in our daily lives, and develop wisdom on the path towards liberation. ๐ŸŒฑ

May we continue to practise meditation and mindfulness to deepen our understanding of the Dhamma as we journey towards Nirvฤแน‡a! ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’— Can you love someone deeplyโ€ฆ without clinging to them?

Romantic relationships can bring out some of our best qualities, and also some of our messiest ones ๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™re especially excited for this session because itโ€™s a new panel-style concept weโ€™re trying at NUSBS โœจ

Join us for a candid conversation with two practising Buddhist couples as they talk about love, attachment, intimacy, values, conflict, growth, and what Buddhist practice actually looks like inside a real relationship.

Expect less โ€œperfect relationship adviceโ€ and more honest sharing about how two people can care for each other without turning love into control, insecurity, or losing themselves along the way ๐ŸŒฟ

Thereโ€™ll also be a Q&A, so bring the questions youโ€™ve always wanted to ask. Weโ€™re very curious to see where the conversation goes too ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒฟ Thank you to everyone who joined us today! ๐Ÿ’—

This session, we explored how Buddhist teachings can guide us in romantic relationships through a heartfelt discussion with two practising Buddhist couples. ๐Ÿ’š

Our speakers shared how relationships can be an opportunity for personal growth, where both partners support each other while staying true to their values and Buddhist practice.

May we continue to cultivate love rooted in compassion, wisdom, and understanding, and grow together on the path of the Dhamma! ๐Ÿƒ

A big thank you to our speakers for sharing their experiences and to everyone who came down for the discussion! ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ˜ฌ You know that moment when you say somethingโ€ฆ and immediately wish you could rewind 5 seconds?

Maybe you said the wrong thing. Maybe nobody knew what to say. Maybe the silence just kept getting louder ๐Ÿ’€

Come explore how mindfulness and Buddhist perspectives might help us handle awkwardness with more ease, humour and kindness towards ourselves and others ๐ŸŒฟ

Join Brother Thomas for a session on those painfully human moments and how we might meet them with a little less panic, self-consciousness and overthinking.

Expect relatable stories, practical reflections, and probably a few moments of โ€œwaitโ€ฆ everyone does this too?โ€ ๐Ÿ‘€๐ŸŒฟ
