Things to do on Vesak Day:
1) merits are multiplied millions of times on Vesak Day, further millions of times if you take 8 precepts that day. Hence don't miss the opportunity to do merits.
2) visit a temple. Go light up a joss stick, and pay homage to the Buddha. Reaffirm your refuge to the 3 jewels. Recommit your 5 precepts. Seek aspiration to make improvement in your cultivation. Send loving kindness and compassion to all sentient beings. Make a small donation. If there is group chanting in the temple, try to stay and do part of the chanting.
3) bath the buddha statue. It symbolizes purifying the mind.
4) try to make at least one of your meals vegetarian.
5) listen to a Dharma talk: face to face talk, or through youtube.
6) read a sutra. Choose a short one that you can finish that day without difficulty.
7) meet up with Buddhist friends and celebrate with each other. Spiritual friendship makes the day special.

Special things to do on Vesak Day:
1) 3 step 1 bow. This is a form of asceticism. Asceticism is very effective against craving. However be mindful of whether your body can take the hardship.
2) Visit the Amitabha Buddhist Centre celebration at Aljunied MRT. They have 3 days of program starting on Friday:

They have a complete set of activities including Dharma talks, blessing ceremonies, life liberation, oil lamp offering, and sutra writing. They also have gift shops with special items from Tibet. They offer free vegetarian lunch. On Sunday morning 6am, they have 8 precepts ceremony.
3) Visit Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (kmspks). They also have a full suite of activities and gift shops.

All activities typically end by 6pm.

May you and your loved ones have a happy and blissful Vesak Day. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
