๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ American tech billionaire and co-owner of Palantir Alex Karp has bought himself a 15,000 hectare property in northern Sweden for โ‚ฌ25M.

His newly founded Swedish company Cladonia describes itself as engaged in forestry and denies any plans for data centers. The property is almost the size of the City of Stockholm and is located in the middle of nowhere.

๐Ÿ—ฃBill Gates: AI will usher in one of the most turbulent eras in history.

โ€œAI is both the most powerful tool for advancing equity and the greatest threat to equity humans have ever invented.โ€

โ€œMany jobs will disappear. White-collar jobs first, with blue-collar ones to follow.โ€

โ€œI worry that we arenโ€™t preparing.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s no plan to ease the entry into the AI era, and not even a plan to have a plan.โ€

โ€œThe world has a chance to act now before unemployment rises sharply.โ€

โ—๏ธAt 17, a Chinese AI researcher reportedly earning ยฅ70 million a year is leaving Kimi for Silicon Valley.

Chen Guangyu joined Kimiโ€™s AI research team in November 2025, when he was just 16 and still in high school. He reportedly earns around 70 million yuan annually, roughly $10 million despite having no university degree or PhD.

His research has already attracted international attention. Chen became the first co-author of a paper recognized by specialists worldwide, with findings used in a model containing 2.8 trillion parameters.

On October 15, Chen announced his departure from Kimi and revealed plans to move to the San Francisco Bay Area, home to many of the worldโ€™s leading AI labs.

โ—๏ธAI RIVALS OpenAI and Anthropic are RACING for investors' cash before going public.

OpenAI is trying to raise about $30 BILLION at a valuation over $1.4 TRILLION, up from $852 BILLION in March, per Reuters.

Anthropic is expected to go public in mid-November, with some investors pushing for a valuation near $1.5 TRILLION instead of the $2 TRILLION it wanted.

OpenAI reportedly wants its round closed before Anthropic's IPO disclosures let investors compare the two.

Elon Musk says money will become irrelevant and future currency will be measured in power, mass and energy.

โ—๏ธGetty images spent years watermarking every photo on the internet.

Sued stability AI for training on their library. Demanded the AI companies pay up. Called it theft. Filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy this week.

The AI companies didn't pay. They just... kept going and designers stopped buying stock photos. And the $500 licensing fees stopped making sense when midjourney exists. and the debt piled up.

A company whose entire business model was "we own the visual record of human history, pay us" just got outrun by a model that learned from that record and started giving it away for free.

The irony is that the watermark is still on every image in the archive. Even the ones nobody's licensing anymore.

๐Ÿ™ƒ Elon Musk says digital superintelligence could add $30 trillion a year to Earthโ€™s economy.

โ€œDolphins and whales are actually very intelligent. But because they canโ€™t manipulate complex objects, I think that actually made the value of intelligence much less.

โ€œOnce you have a robot that can manipulate atoms, can shape objects, the value of the intelligence becomes exponentially greater because it can now do things. It could have a science lab and run experiments and try to understand the nature of the universe.

โ€œMy guess is digital superintelligence probably improves the output of goods and services by 20 to 30%, something like that. Itโ€™s like $30 trillion a year incremental.โ€

๐Ÿ“ฐ The week AI out-diagnosed doctors and leaked kids' secrets

1. Hired by Kimi at 16, now off to Silicon Valley
Chen Guangyu joined while still in high school. By March he was a lead author on a paper Elon Musk called "impressive." Now he's moving to the Bay Area.

2. AI nailed 83% of hard diagnoses. Doctors: 36%
Microsoft's system works like a panel of doctors. The study, now out in Science, used old cases, not live patients.

3. A cute AI toy leaked 13 million chats
Over 31,000 profiles belonged to children. A researcher hijacked one robot and made it tell a reporter his parents had died in a car crash.

4. AI may be wiping out how experts are made
A new paper warns that juniors learn on the grunt work AI now takes over. And only real experts can catch AI's mistakes.

5. "Three years of therapy" in one AI session
That's how Meta's AI chief Alexandr Wang describes an early session with an agent that could read his email and photos.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ Chinaโ€™s young generation is losing faith in the promise of hard work

For decades, millions of Chinese families believed the formula was simple: study hard, get a good job, buy a home, and build a better life than your parents. Now, that promise is becoming harder to keep.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Chinaโ€™s young people are facing a brutal combination of unemployment, layoffs, falling wages and rising financial pressure.

The numbers paint a troubling picture. Youth unemployment among 16โ€“24-year-olds has approached 19%, while unemployment among those aged 25โ€“29 stands at 7.5%. Meanwhile, a record 12.7 million university graduates entered the job market this year, competing for opportunities in an economy already under pressure.

The property crisis has wiped out jobs across construction and real estate, while major technology companies, including Alibaba and ByteDance, have reportedly been cutting staff. Even a university degree no longer guarantees a secure start to a career.

And AI could make the situation worse.

According to the WSJ, some major Chinese employers privately estimate that AI could eliminate 30% or more of their current jobs. Research analyzing hundreds of millions of job postings has also pointed to declining demand for workers with just one to three years of experience.

That creates a dangerous cycle: companies need fewer entry-level workers, graduates struggle to get their first jobs, and those who do find work increasingly turn to temporary or gig-based employment.

The consequences extend far beyond the workplace. Young people are delaying marriage, having fewer children and moving back in with their parents because they cannot afford independent lives. Others are abandoning traditional career ambitions altogether.

For China, this is more than an employment problem. When young people lack stable incomes, they spend less, postpone major life decisions and become less likely to buy homes, putting even more pressure on an economy already struggling with its property crisis.

The deeper problem is a broken expectation. An entire generation was taught that education and hard work would lead to financial security. Now, many are discovering that the old rules may no longer apply.

โš ๏ธ A hacker cracked open a Samsung TV and says an AI inside tracks what you watch

A bug bounty hunter who goes by log4j kept getting oddly specific ads on a 2025 Samsung TV. The firmware was encrypted, so they used zero-day bugs to take full control of the set and posted the findings this week.

They say it runs a small AI model that follows what you watch in apps like YouTube, which ads you skip and how far into a video you get. The TV also processes screenshots and classifies the sounds it hears, like a dog barking or a baby crying, before reporting to Samsung. TVs without a mic look for one on a connected soundbar or Bluetooth device, they say.

Then OpenAI deactivated their account for "Cyber Abuse." log4j says they only used it for local reverse engineering and lost about $500.

Nothing is independently confirmed yet and the full write-up is still coming, Tom's Hardware reports. A Hugging Face engineer testing a rooted TV saw the mic open for 5 seconds, then stay off for hours.
