📢 Recycling is NOT enough. It’s time for real solutions. ♻️

You have been doing a great job, our waste generation per capita has fallen since 2015! But to build a truly sustainable Singapore, we need to move upstream.

Valerie Lee, Lee Hui Ying and Poh Li San proposed practical hard-hitting solutions to strengthen our resource circularity:
👉 Tracking actual waste reduction and contamination rates, instead of just short-term campaign participation.
👉 Pushing for policies to restrict aggressive single-use packaging and get businesses to accept reusable containers.
👉 Calling for adjusted waste collection fees to get commercial businesses to recycle their food waste, which currently sits at a low 18% recycling rate.

Singaporeans are already doing their part to reduce waste. Now, it’s time for systemic policies and businesses to step up.

Check out what they said here! 👇

Teachers do more than teach. But how much of their time is actually spent on teaching?

From CCAs and school programmes to administrative work and new digital tools, the demands on educators can add up quickly. The answer isn’t to give our students fewer opportunities. It’s to ask whether every task really needs to sit with a teacher.

What if we could give teachers more time to teach, mentor and focus on the students who need them most? That’s what Wan Rizal and David Hoe are pushing for.

Women’s health and well-being needs can change at different stages of life, and the support available should respond to these changing needs.

At the PAP Women’s Wing Conference, survey findings highlighted areas where more can be done, from supporting mental well-being among women starting their careers, to greater workplace flexibility for parents and caregivers, and more open conversations about perimenopause and menopause.

When a child loses contact with a parent, every day matters. But is our family justice system responding quickly enough?

As Diana Pang said in Parliament, putting children first must also mean acting in time for them. Drawing from cases raised by her residents, she called for an urgent review of existing processes, including faster court intervention and earlier support for families to protect parent-child relationships.

As Singapore moves towards becoming a super-aged society, what does it really mean to age well?

At the PAP Seniors Group event, we asked our MPs to share their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population, how they're engaging seniors in their communities, and what we can all do to build stronger connections across generations.

Because ageing well isn't just about living longer. It's also about staying connected, supported and living with purpose.
