Uniswap Hook Incubator Highlight #6 - Veritas by Scientivan

As the final project in our look at the recent UHI9 developer campaign sponsored by Uniswap, today we’re highlighting Veritas.

Veritas is a Uniswap v4 hook for pools of tokenized content (a photo or other media registered on-chain). It prices a risk that normal pools ignore: as copies and near-duplicates spread, the original loses the scarcity its value rests on, and the liquidity providers are the ones left holding that loss. Veritas attaches a risk score to each asset and feeds it into the pool’s swap fee, so riskier content charges more and its providers get paid more to hold it.

Using Reactive Network’s event subscriptions + cross-chain callbacks, it watches a content registry for every new registration. When a near-duplicate of something already on file appears, the reactive contract automatically updates the original’s dilution count. That raises the risk score, and the pool charges a higher fee on the very next swap so no one has to send a transaction or lift a finger.

A clever way to keep the numbers true even when the change happens somewhere else entirely!

Glamsterdam Gives Ethereum a Second Gas Meter

Ethereum has long charged a fixed 21,000 gas to send ETH from one address to another. Wallets, fee tools, and dApp features all assume that number.

A coming upgrade, Glamsterdam, changes the model. Ethereum will split costs into two meters: execution gas for running the transaction, and state gas for writing new data that every node must store forever. Sending to an address that already exists still costs 21,000. Sending to a brand-new address can cost about ten times more.

The aim is bigger blocks without letting the chain’s stored data grow so fast that ordinary computers can no longer run a node. Compute stays relatively cheap; creating permanent on-chain data does not.

So, what does this mean for Web3 and Reactive in particular?

Intents, Solvers, and Borrowed Certainty

Moving money between blockchains used to mean every wallet talking to every bridge in its own messy way. You picked a route, waited, and hoped it actually arrived.

Intents changed that, you just say what you want β€œI have this coin here, I want the same coin there” and someone else figures out how. A new standard, ERC-7683, makes it easier for those helpers to work with many apps at once.

What it does not solve is the scary part: when is a transfer really done? Different systems still trust different answers. That’s why two β€œstandard” transfers can still fail in totally different ways.

In this article we'll take a look at that leftover risk, the part that decides whether your money actually shows up, and how Reactive resolves that issue.

Finality Wars: Counting Validator Counts Wrong

We've just published a new article about something that almost went wrong on Solana in August, and why it matters for Reactive. Some of you may be aware that in August, Solana came closer to a network wide stall than it has for a long time.

What happened? Well, the network kept running so most people never noticed. Behind the scenes though, a hosting problem took a large share of the network offline at once. The consenus software worked, the weak point was how much of the network sat in the same place.

That is the story we care about as we switch to CometBFT. This upgrade gives Reactive fast, permanent settlement: once a block is accepted, it stays. The trade-off is simple, if too much of the network goes quiet, we stop rather than risk taking a decision back.

We also rely on other origin and destination chains we listen to and send transactions to. If any of those stall, a user’s cross-chain action can stall with them. So what's the solution?

ETHShanghai Keynote: The Last Middlemen

Reactive recently gave a keynote speech at ETHShanghai which many of you were interested to hear, unfortunately this wasn't available as a livestream so instead we've obtained the recording, which you can check out for yourself.

Our ecosystem lead Emilijus shares his thoughts on the role of Reactive in removing the final middlemen in Web3 and where this structure fits in with the introduction of agentic AI.

Lasna Testnet Moves to CometBFT

Lasna goes offline Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00 UTC for the CometBFT migration.

The original Lasna testnet, still on the legacy Geth and Prysm stack, is moving to the same architecture already running on our newer testnet. This is the upgrade we're preparing for mainnet: instant finality with no reorgs.

Expect up to 3 hours of downtime. Transactions, subscriptions, and callbacks won't process during the window, so wrap up or pause any tests that depend on Lasna. Mainnet is unaffected.

We'll post again once it's back, with what's changed for contracts and what's coming next!

Lasna Testnet Pauses

Reactive's Lasna testnet will go offline in 1 hour for migration to CometBFT, expected downtime of around 3 hours, we'll notify you as soon as the network is restored.

While the migration runs, Lasna won't process transactions, subscriptions, or callbacks. Anything sent its way during that window won't land, so please wrap up or pause any tests that depend on it.

Testnet Migration Complete

Lasna has now been restored and is running on the Omni-Fork!

What Does This Mean?

- RVMs are gone, Reactive contracts now deploy once like standard Solidity contracts
- Block times are reduced from ~7 seconds to ~1 second
- Standard solidity tooling like Hardhat, Foundry, and Remix now works out of the box

What's next?

Whilst, as always, no promises can be made, our current plans are to launch the full mainnet Omni-Fork by the end of the month, pending stress-testing of Lasna testnet.

If plans change we’ll keep you updated.

Reactive x Robinhood

Reactive has now integrated with Robinhood Chain, making it available as both an origin and destination chain to all users!

Stock tokens already trade 24/7. With Reactive, the logic managing them can too, responding to on-chain events on Robinhood Chain and every other chain a position touches.

Reactive contracts subscribe to events, run solidity and settle callbacks on-chain. No bots, keepers, or off-chain triggers required.

Making them ideal for:

- Tightening collateral when weekend feeds go quiet
- Repositioning liquidity ranges between trades
- Enforcing agent exposure limits

Tokenized markets never close, so your on-chain actions don't need to either!

The Final Staking Season

As season nine of REACT staking comes to a close tomorrow at block 7,196,129, we'll be launching the final season for our current staking model with a short-term two-week pool which will kick off at the next block (7,196,130) and run up until October 28th, offering 500k REACT to split among stakers.

The Omni-Fork is Coming

You may be wondering why we're launching a shorter pool than usual this season.

That's because we're planning to roll out the Omni-Fork upgrade to Reactive on October 28th, which will bring a host of staking changes as we move to a true delegation and validation system. More details coming soon!

Important Notice

Later this week, at 12:00 UTC Wednesday Oct 28th, Reactive Network will pause temporarily to carry out our promised migration to Reactive Omni!

This is the same upgrade already pushed out on Lasna testnet, bringing with it:

Instant Finality - Once a block is validated, it's permanent
Faster Block Times - Around 7x faster
No More RVMs - Reactive contracts will deploy just like Solidity
Full Validation/Delegation Staking - More details to come before launch

Introducing the REACT Delegation Program

Tomorrow will finally see the launch of Reactive Omni, the biggest upgrade to come to the network since launch, which will bring:

Instant Finality - Once a block is validated, it's permanent
Faster Block Times - Around 7x faster
No More RVMs - Reactive contracts will deploy just like Solidity
Enhanced Tooling - Solidity tooling will work right out the box

Importantly though, Omni will also see the end of our current staking system and the introduction of a true validator based consensus mechanism.

For those unable to run their own node as a validator, there's still an option however, delegation.

The Migration to Reactive Omni is Complete!

We're happy to confirm that the Omni-fork is now complete and Reactive Mainnet is running on CometBFT Consensus. This means faster block times, instant finality and improved tooling for builders on Reactive.

That's not all though as the completion of this migration will also signify the end of our current staking season and the beginning of a new paradigm for REACT stakers. The Reactive team is finalising this work now and will notify stakers once it's complete.

What's next?

We've got some plans to put the new and improved mainnet through it's paces, builders stay tuned!

Introducing Reactive Circuit

Instead of hosting events, with Reactive Circuit we pay bonuses for Reactive integrations built at other major hackathons. Win a prize there, submit the project, and if the integration holds up you receive an extra bonus.

To participate: Pick an event from our short list, build using Reactive for something the project needs (subscription has to do real work, produce a callback and code must be open), win a published cash prize and claim within 14 days.

The bonus is 10%, 20% or 30% of the cash prize already won, paid in REACT. Level depends on relevance, quality, documentation and event scale.

No More Hackathons?

Whilst we see the value in introducing builders in other hackathons to Reactive, that doesn't mean we won't be hosting our own anymore, builders watch this space!

Reactive Omni: The Buildathon

Starting tomorrow, November 5th at 12:00 UTC, the Reactive Omni Buildathon will launch, running until December 5th, with $5,500 up for grabs in prize money!

Hosted on Dorahacks, here's what we're challenging builders to achieve with three tracks:

Every Second Counts

With Omni, Reactive is faster than ever which unlocks a host of new use cases relying on low latency, so we’re setting this track to see what builders can do with that speed!

Set It and Forget It

We're aiming to change some of the perceptions of Reactive as a tool only for seasoned blockchain developers. With the availability of AI coding tools, Reactive contracts are easier to deploy than ever, even for those who have never written a single line of code. So with this track we're challenging all of you to build the most useful personal applications you can think of using Reactive contracts!

Reactive Meets AI

For our final track we're leaving it wide open, we want to see neural networks working on Reactive, so our only stipulation is that an AI model must be part of the build, other than that there are no limits!

The Reactive Buildathon Has Officially Begun!

$5,500 in prizes across three tracks. Entries will stay open until Dec 5th.

Every Second Counts - Our first track with a focus on low latency use cases to highlight the true advantages of instant finality and faster block times which arrived with Omni

Set It and Forget It - Our second track aimed at challenging everyone, including non-developers, to find the best personal utilities for Reactive contracts. With the addition of AI coding models anyone can deploy RCs, so we want to see what you can build!

Reactive Meets AI - Our final track is built to bring AI models onto Reactive, there's no limitations, only that your build must incorporate a neural network, not just be built by one.
