Finally met one farmer who has sold ethanol to oil companies. He described in detail how he grows sugarcane in acres of land, extracts juice and makes jaggery out of it and the byproduct is ethanol that he sells to Indian Oil for Rs 57.57 per litre. Indian Oil finds the refined petrol much cheaper. But they gotta mix to save the planet so they change the label to green. Green is so soothing to the sleeping eye. When I woke up, I called a friend and he said such farmers don't exist and that I must be dreaming or delusional. Afternoon naps give you weird dreams, I tell ya. Saawan ke sapne bhi hare hare hote hain.
