Compassion, empathy, and family — these are the words that capture the essence of the film “You Are Not an Orphan"
On the eve of Victory Day, the screening brought together Polytech students and guests from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg.
For Polytech, this story carries special meaning. During the war, staff of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute were evacuated to Uzbekistan, where they continued their work. Today, the republic remains one of SPbPU’s key partners in science, education, and youth initiatives.

“This film is based on a real human story of courage: during the war, an Uzbek family took in and raised more than a dozen children of different nationalities who had been evacuated to Tashkent. It is not just a film about war — it is a film about humanity. About the ability to remain human in the most difficult times. About how compassion, warmth, and responsibility know no borders or nationalities,” — noted rector of the Polytechnic University Andrey Rudskoy.👉 The film tells the story of the Shamakmurodov family from Tashkent, who adopted 14 orphaned children during World War II. Based on real events, it has become a powerful tribute to humanism and is considered one of the most moving war dramas.

Congratulations on the Great Victory Day
May 9, 1945 is not just a date in a history textbook, but a symbol of courage and the boundless power of the human spirit. On this day, we remember those who fought on the fronts, who worked in the rear, and those who survived the horrors of war. More than three thousand of our polytechnics stood up for the country and the world, showing incredible bravery and dedication.

Hi, I’m Ngoc. Currently learning Russian at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
In this honest vlog, I talk about:
🔹Why the educational program here is exactly what I hoped for.
🔹The language barrier: hilarious moments when you say the wrong word.
🔹How I made friends from all over the world (you’re never alone here).
🔹My daily struggle and success with scheduling my studies.
The best part? The professors at Polytechnic University are so responsive and caring. The hardest part? The cold! But I have a big goal: to enter the
Master’s program in Law here.
If you need motivation to keep learning Russian – this video is for you. Spoiler: It’s worth it.

Dear friends!
Today is a special day for every citizen of St. Petersburg. The day when the BEST CITY ON EARTH was founded! Inspiration city, dream city, power city.
For 323 years, St. Petersburg has been a symbol of the power of the human spirit, capable of creating in spite of any circumstances. So, our city has grown "out of the swamp of thugs" in a matter of years. So, he did not submit to the enemy during the terrible 900 days of the Blockade. So, he continues to live and flourish, allowing us to develop in order to be worthy of the high standard dictated by the title of Leningrad- Petersburger.
May the guardian angel protect our city from all adversities and multiply its glory for centuries to come!
Happy birthday, Petersburg!

Exam season is coming. Don't panic – here are 5 simple tips to help you survive and succeed. ⬇️
1. Plan your time 🗓
Break your material into small chunks. Study 45–50 minutes, then take a 10‑minute break.
2. Find your space 🧘
A quiet spot with good light – no distractions, no TikTok (sorry 😄).
3. Use active recall 🧠
Don't just read – test yourself. Flashcards, questions, summaries. Make your brain work.
4. Sleep and eat 😴🍎
All‑nighters don't work. Your brain needs rest and energy. Coffee is not a food group.
5. Stay positive ✨
Breathe. You've got this. One step at a time, and soon – freedom!
