📍 Repeated Question with changing of age in the scenario

A 4-year-old child has enuresis 6 times per week
What is the best advice?

A. Reassure
B. Refer to a pediatric urologist
C. Refer to a behavioral therapist

Answer is A
❤4
💡 Nocturnal Enuresis in pediatrics:

<5 years + bedwetting → reassure and education

≥5 years + ≥2 nights/week for ≥3 months → “uncomplicated” -> consider evaluation/treatment for enuresis.

1) 5-6 yo: Education, reassurance, behavioral measures; consider treatment if distressing/frequent

2) ≥6–7 years: Enuresis alarm is usually the preferred active treatment when family/child are motivated

3) ≥7 years / rapid short-term control needed: Desmopressin can be used, especially for sleepovers/camps; also useful when alarm is unsuitable

Fluid restriction to avoid excessive bed wetting and to not cause hyponatremia or water intoxication

4) Older child/adolescent, refractory cases: Reassess for constipation, daytime LUTS, UTI, psychosocial factors, adherence; consider specialist referral/combination therapy

Imipramine if failed other treatments or refractory in older children, not first line, risk of Cardiotoxicity, seizures, overdose toxicity.
