I wish I could say I was surprised by what happened, but the country’s mood, fueled by years of fake-news hatred, made tonight feel inevitable.

I walked into the event expecting a knockout speech from the President, yet I knew the room was about 90% hostile: members of the press who despise him and have spent years inflaming those who still listen to them.

Security was shockingly lax. They barely glanced at my ticket and waved me through. No ID check, no real scrutiny.

I walked out right next to Jake Tapper & looked him in the eye. “How dare you? You’ve caused so much division in this country with your lies. I’m done calling it gaslighting — you’ve LIED to the American people.”

These reporters have spent a decade spreading absolute lies about President Trump.

They share some of the blame for what happened tonight.

As a mother, I’m exhausted by it. I couldn’t stay silent and walk out pretending someone like Jake Tapper is one of the good guys.

I don’t play around. I can’t pretend to like people just because I’m sitting next to them at an event. So I told the CNN team, ‘You guys have been derelict in your duties to the American people.’ I’ll always say it. Journalists have a duty to tell the truth.

Tonight we never got our dinner or the chance to hear the president speak, but we know the truth; we support him, & we know he’s safe.

Thank God for that.
