"SILVER BULLET" META-NARRATIVES

There is a psychological condition which leads people into believing that there is a singular and simple solution to the current state of affairs, I will call this the "silver bullet" meta-narrative.

This leads to over-simplification of complex problems, a cult like belief in the only one silver bullet God, and intolerance towards those who do not share their enthusiasm in the singular silver bullet solution to all the world's problems.

Silver bullet meta-narratives, are a simplification of complexity and nuance into such singular belief solutions, such as: "If only everyone would understand that [silver bullet narrative] then we would solve the problem, achieve freedom."

Examples of simplistic silver bullet narratives are:
-Vaccines are safe & effective
-Masks stop viruses
-Lockdowns stop illnesses
-Viruses don't exist
-There was no pandemic
-Pandemics are not possible
-Covid19 was the flu
-Hamas are terrorists
-Israel has a right to defend itself
-Israel has a right to exist
-There is no ethnic cleansing in Palestine
-There is no genocide
-Palestine doesn't exist
-UNRWA are Hamas
-Everyone who calls out Israel is an antisemite
-Support for Palestinian rights is extremism
-Bitcoin will eliminate government control

And so on.

I am afraid to say that silver bullets to kill all the monsters/vampires exist only in fictional narratives. Reality is far more complex and nuanced, and seeking more freedom is a daily struggle, there is no singular solution, and it will never end. But we still need to keep on striving towards it, each of us in their own personal way, according to their own strengths and insights.

UK authorities will soon have fewer restrictions when seizing crypto

"From April 26, the U.K. economic crime legislation will include civil recovery orders for confiscating crypto assets.

The United Kingdom government recently released statutory instrument documentation stating that U.K. law enforcement authorities will be able to freeze crypto assets used in crime without requiring a conviction from the end of April.

Published on Feb. 29, the document outlines the amendments made to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, which expands the power of the National Crime Agency to confiscate and seize crypto assets the agency suspects are linked to suspicious illicit activities, without needing to go through extensive legal procedures.

Additionally, authorities will be able to retrieve crypto assets directly from exchanges and custodian wallet providers. They will also have the option to destroy crypto assets if needed."

Global Digital Compact is the UN's overarching plan for a "digital future" that includes several controversial elements.

Despite the serious controversies arising from Big Tech/government “coordination” (lawsuits in the US say, it’s actually “collusion”), this concept seems to be taken as normal behavior in the UK.

Currently, Home Secretary James Cleverly (whose department is in charge of the police) is in Silicon Valley for talks with representatives of Google, Meta, and Apple. And in New York City, he will be meeting those from X.

Reports are saying that the purpose of Cleverly’s US trip is to “discuss how the UK government and tech players can work together to tackle a number of challenges facing democracies in the digital age.”

...But few things scream, “public benefit” less than what the initiative in reality aims to achieve: summed up, it’s introduction of digital ID, linked to user bank accounts.

Both for democracy and free speech advocates, and repressively-acting governments, the 2022 trucker protest in Canada was an excellent showcase of how legitimate dissent can be stifled by cutting people off from their money.
