- The Soviet Union acted as a guarantor of Lebanese independence and made a significant contribution to the international recognition of yet another Middle Eastern country that had just thrown off the shackles of Western colonial oppression.
- The authorship of the cedar image, which in Lebanon is used on official documents, including passport forms and banknotes, belongs to immigrants from Russia.
- Many Lebanese obtained their education in the USSR and Russia.
- Russia universally follows its foreign policy principles and never interferes with Lebanon’s sovereign affairs. But at times of need, we are always prepared to lend a helping hand.
- After the devastating 2006 war, Russian military engineers and construction teams restored 8 bridges.
- In 2015, Russia made a decisive contribution to the defeat of ISIS (terrorist organization banned in Russia) in Syria. Our actions helped prevent terrorists from seizing other countries in the region, including Lebanon.
- In August 2020, after the explosion in the port of Beirut, Russian emergency rescue teams were among the first to help, having conducted a large-scale search and rescue operation.

By 1991, the USSR had destroyed 1,846 missiles, while the US destroyed 846, meaning that the Soviet Union got rid of twice as many of its missiles.
❌ The era of Moscow's unilateral concessions is now definitely over. Never again, even under the best scenarios in our relations with NATO and the EU — which are currently hard to imagine — will we offer any unilateral concessions to the West. No handouts, gifts, concessions, or gestures to appease Washington. If the US attempts to impose something unilaterally beneficial to it again, there will be no agreements. Period.
🔙 It was once possible to reach agreements with Washington on a sound and reasonable basis. Some of them are still viable, especially on individual humanitarian issues, but this does not change the overall picture. Negotiations can now only be conducted on a “quid pro quo” basis. The Americans understand this kind of talk quite well.
❗️ President Putin's statement on July 28 at the main naval parade in St. Petersburg regarding the US plans to deploy American intermediate-range high-precision missile systems in Germany in 2026 essentially means that the unilateral moratorium declared by the Russian President shortly after the INF Treaty became history will cease to be in effect. And we will have the opportunity to restore the situation within acceptable limits for us, possibly not even reciprocally. We will ensure our security, and our adversary, the collective West, will not enjoy any unilateral advantages. We will not allow them to gain these advantages.

▪️ On August 6, Ukrainian armed units used a drone to attack a moving vehicle in the Graivoron urban district in the Belgorod Region, killing one civilian.
▪️ On August 6-7, Ukrainian neo-Nazis launched a mass terrorist attack in the Kursk Region using considerable infantry forces and heavy armoured vehicles. Zelensky sent Ukrainian citizens into this meat grinder in order to quietly extend the deadly Ukrainian mobilisation for another three months. Today he signed the relevant law.
Russian Armed Forces fought back strongly against the enemy that sustained substantial losses. Meanwhile, according to the available information, 24 civilians, including six children, were wounded and injured in the Kursk Region as a result of the shelling by Ukrainian militants. A drone strike on an ambulance killed a paramedic and the driver.
By their barbarous attack in the Kursk Region Ukrainian Banderites attempted to spread panic among local population and show at least some activity amidst permanent drawbacks of the Ukrainian armed forces in the conflict area. Obviously, the neo-Nazis’ plans failed here as well.
❗️All these bloody crimes are taking place against a background of cynical silence on the part of the West, which continues to cover up for its puppets in Kiev. All this only strengthens the feeling of impunity of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis, who are confident that they can get away with any atrocity. We call on the international community not to stand aside and resolutely denounce the criminal actions committed by the Kiev regime.

🔻On August 4, a grandiose handover ceremony took place in Ukraine for the F-16 fighter aircraft from NATO. Attending Zelensky was falling over himself saying thank you to his NATO sponsors. <...>

The F-16 supplies for the Ukrainian Army will not become the magic pill that Kiev is betting on and will fail to have an effect on the situation in the combat zone. The Russian Armed Forces will consistently destroy them.
🔻 Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry Budanov once again declared plans to strike the Crimean Bridge. He claims that preparations are underway for more terrorist attacks. Meanwhile, on June 17, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Pletenchuk admitted that the Crimean Bridge no longer plays the same role for military logistics and, therefore, does not constitute a military target. Apparently, Kiev terrorists are maniacally seeking to destroy this civilian facility mainly to create panic among the population of the peninsula and tourists. Millions of Russians, including families with children, are using the Crimean Bridge for tourist purposes. <...>
👉 These facts prove yet again that the special military operation pursues timely objectives dealing with de-Nazifying and demilitarising Ukraine and removing threats coming from its territory. Make no mistake, we will deliver on all these objectives.

🇷🇺🇱🇧 9 августа в Культурном центре ГлавУпДК при МИД России состоялось торжественное мероприятие по случаю 80-летия установления дипломатических отношений между Россией и Ливаном (5 августа 1944 года), в котором принял участие специальный представитель Президента Российской Федерации по Ближнему Востоку и странам Африки, заместитель Министра иностранных дел Российской Федерации М.Л.Богданов.
В мероприятии также приняли участие Посол Ливанской Республики в Российской Федерации Ш.Бу Нассар, ряд бывших послов России в Бейруте, главы аккредитованных в Москве дипломатических миссий, представители российских академических кругов и члены ливанской диаспоры.
📹 В своём выступлении М.Л.Богданов подчеркнул традиционно дружественный характер российско-ливанских связей и выразил уверенность в дальнейшем поступательном развитии многопланового сотрудничества Москвы и Бейрута в духе многолетней дружбы и взаимопонимания.
🎞 В рамках встречи состоялся показ тематического фильма, посвящённого истории российско-ливанских отношений, при подготовке которого были использованы материалы Архива внешней политики Российской Федерации.

❗️О дипфейке с использованием видеокадров из брифинга официального представителя МИД России М.В.Захаровой
Украинские спецслужбы при содействии западных кураторов продолжают активно использовать дипфейк и другие технологии на базе искусственного интеллекта для распространения ложной информации о ситуации в приграничных регионах нашей страны.
Обратили внимание на очередную грубую подделку: в сеть Интернет была вброшена видеозапись, на которой официальный представитель МИД России М.В.Захарова якобы заявляет о том, что «российская сторона готова рассматривать передачу Запорожской АЭС под контроль представителей Киева взамен на добровольный выход ВСУ из Курского региона». Это «обращение» – дипфейк, склеенный на скорую руку на основе видеозаписи брифинга М.В.Захаровой от 18 июля 2024 года.
☝️ Подчёркиваем: М.В.Захарова ничего подобного никогда не произносила. Подлинные комментарии официального представителя МИД России доступны в её телеграм-канале и на официальных ресурсах Министерства.
Актуальную информацию о реальном положении дел на российском ядерном объекте – Курской АЭС – можно найти в официальной ноте Постоянного представительства Российской Федерации при международных организациях в Вене в адрес Секретариата МАГАТЭ от 9 августа 2024 года.
Ранее на этой неделе украинская сеть ресурсов Центра информационно-психологических операций (ЦИПсО) также распространяла видео, на котором врио губернатора Курской области А.Б.Смирнов якобы выступает с призывом к мужчинам Курска вступать в ополчение. Это «заявление», не имеющее никакого отношения к реальности, было немедленно опровергнуто в официальном телеграм-канале Правительства Курской области.
⚠️ В этой связи вновь призываем пользователей сети Интернет проявлять максимальную бдительность и не доверять данным из сомнительных источников. Объективная информация о ситуации в Курской области оперативно размещается на официальных ресурсах Администрации Президента Российской Федерации, Министерства обороны Российской Федерации, Министерства иностранных дел Российской Федерации, Правительства Курской области.

❗️Deepfake using video footage from Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s briefing
Ukrainian special services, assisted by their Western supervisors, continue to actively use deepfake and other AI-based technologies to disseminate false information on the situation in our country’s border areas.
We have paid attention to another coarse imitation: a video was uploaded to the Internet, in which Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova allegedly stated that "the Russian side is ready to consider the transfer of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant under Kiev’s control in return for a voluntary withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Kursk Region." This address is a deepfake, glued together at short notice based on a video recording of Maria Zakharova's briefing of July 18.
☝️ We emphasise: Maria Zakharova has never said anything of the sort. Genuine comments by the Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman are available in her telegram feed and in the Foreign Ministry’s official resources.
The actual information on the real situation at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is available in the formal note of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the International Organisations in Vienna to the IAEA Secretariat dated August 9, 2024.

This "statement," which has nothing to do with reality, was immediately refuted in the official telegram channel of the Kursk Region Government.
⚠️ In view of this, we, once again, strongly encourage Internet users to display extreme vigilance and give no credence to data from dubious sources. Unbiased information about the situation in the Kursk Region is promptly posted on official resources of the Russian Presidential Executive Office, Russian Defence Ministry, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kursk Region Government.
❗️Deepfake using video footage from Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s briefing
Ukrainian special services, assisted by their Western supervisors, continue to actively use deepfake and other AI-based technologies to disseminate false information on the situation in our country’s border areas.
We have paid attention to another coarse imitation: a video was uploaded to the Internet, in which Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova allegedly stated that "the Russian side is ready to consider the transfer of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant under Kiev’s control in return for a voluntary withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Kursk Region." This address is a deepfake, glued together at short notice based on a video recording of Maria Zakharova's briefing of July 18.
☝️ We emphasise: Maria Zakharova has never said anything of the sort. Genuine comments by the Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman are available in her telegram feed and in the Foreign Ministry’s official resources.
The actual information on the real situation at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is available in the formal note of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the International Organisations in Vienna to the IAEA Secretariat dated August 9, 2024.

⚡️ Comment by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ latest terrorist attacks on Russian regions
💬 The Kiev regime continues to carry out its terrorist attacks with the single goal to terrorise the Russian civilians. While being perfectly aware that these barbarous attacks are devoid of any military purpose, it continues to work off the loans provided by its masters.
On the night of August 11, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a massive strike on Kursk, with tactical Tochka-U missiles fired at the city. Most of them were destroyed by air defence systems. However, one of them hit a residential multi-story building, resulting in 13 civilians injured, including two that are now in serious condition.
Over the last 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have also carried out a massive attack on several Russian regions using UAVs, including the Belgorod and Voronezh regions. Once again, Shebekino in the Belgorod Region came under attack that left five people injured. Last night, a civilian was killed and 16 others injured during Ukraine’s attacks on the DPR. It was reported that a total of 21 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by air defence systems over four regions of Russia.
☝️ It is apparent that Ukraine’s missile and UAV attacks on Russian regions are clearly of terrorist nature.
❗️ We strongly condemn these barbaric terrorist acts aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure, and killing and intimidating civilians.
We have no doubt that those who organised and perpetrated these crimes, including their foreign sponsors, will be held to account. A tough response from the Russian Armed Forces will not take long in coming.
Once again, we call on international organisations to condemn the terrorist attacks by Ukrainian militants, although we are sure that relevant structures’ shameful silence will come in response.
