🇷🇺🇦🇪 On October 21, Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in the opening ceremony of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre of International Cooperation in Education with the UAE at the Yevgeny Primakov Gymnasium in the Moscow Region.
📚 Russian Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov and UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Mohammed Al Jaber informed the heads of state about the two countries’ cooperation in education. The leaders attended a lesson in Arabic and a workshop on Arabic script, as well as a biology lesson with students of the Russian School in Abu Dhabi, a branch of the Primakov Gymnasium that opened in 2022. 🇷🇺🇪🇬 On October 22, Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held talks on the sidelines of the #BRICS Summit.
💬 Vladimir Putin: Thank you for attending the BRICS forum. The fact that you are taking part in it having completed the formal accession procedure during Russia’s chairmanship of this group sends quite a powerful signal.
In fact, Russia has been paying special attention to expanding its friendly ties with Egypt, its long-standing and reliable partner. Last year, we marked the 80th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries.
We have been promoting our multifaceted bilateral relations across various domains based on the Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation, and have generated steady momentum in terms of our trade and economic relations. Egypt accounts for almost one third of Russia-Africa trade. In 2023, it increased by 16.4 percent, and this growth not only spilled over into 2024 but also accelerated.
We continue carrying out major joint projects, including the construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant and a Russian industrial zone. The effort to draft a free trade agreement between the Arab Republic and the Eurasian Economic Union is underway.
🤝 We have been maintaining regular and meaningful political dialogue at various levels. By the way, we are looking forward to seeing your foreign minister in Sochi on November 9 and 10 at the first ministerial conference of the #RussiaAfrica Partnership Forum. It is our hope that you will issue the relevant instructions.
Our interparliamentary cooperation is growing stronger. We are paying considerable attention to developing our ties in education. We have allocated 318 places for your students for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Russia and Egypt have similar approaches to many current global issues, and we appreciate our cooperation at UN platforms.

🗓 On October 24, 1945, exactly 7️⃣9️⃣ years ago, the UN Charter entered into force, almost four months after its singing at the concluding session of the UN Conference on International Organisation in San Francisco (June 26, 1945).
With the ratification of this founding document the United Nations officially came into being.
💬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: After the UN Charter came into force, the constituent conference was held in San Francisco, and the UN was established, the Soviet Union acted energetically to ensure respect for implementation of the principles set out in the UN Charter (excerpt from the interview for a documentary titled "The UN from the 20th to the 21st Century", Moscow, September 25, 2024).
🇷🇺🇺🇳 Strict adherence to the letter and spirit of the UN Charter is a prerequisite for building a more peaceful, prosperous, genuinely just and equitable world order.

🇷🇺🇵🇸 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas held a meeting on the sidelines of the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan (October 24, 2024)
💬 President Vladimir Putin: Mr President, friends,
During your visit to Moscow in August, we engaged in extensive discussions, exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, reviewed crucial aspects of Russian-Palestinian cooperation, and also concurred that you would attend the #BRICS Summit in Kazan to continue our dialogue.
Regrettably, since our previous meeting, the situation in the region has not improved; on the contrary, it is deteriorating. The tragic events in the Gaza Strip have already led to more than 40,000 deaths and provoked tensions in Lebanon and other parts of the Middle East. Tensions are also escalating in the West Bank. We all bear witness to this.
Russia's principled position is consistent and absolutely impartial: we firmly advocate for an early cessation of bloodshed and the provision of humanitarian access to all those in need. We urge all parties to exercise restraint.
A lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through a political and diplomatic settlement based on recognised international legal grounds and platform, which provide for the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian State that would coexist in peace and security with Israel.
Russia has traditionally devoted special attention to the Middle East settlement issue. Among other efforts, we have been addressing this issue during our BRICS chairmanship. As you observed at the meeting and during bilateral contacts, BRICS countries have similar approaches. This was affirmed both by the extraordinary BRICS summit on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the discussion that took place here in Kazan.
Of course, Russia cannot overlook the needs of the people. As you are aware, we have transferred over 800 tonnes of supplies, including food and medicine, to the Palestinians. Naturally, we will do everything within our power to steer the situation towards the resolution of all the problems in this area.

❓ Вопрос: 24 октября в Париже по инициативе Президента Франции Эммануэля Макрона состоялась международная конференция по Ливану, на которую Россию организаторы решили не приглашать. Как Вы могли бы это прокомментировать?
💬 М.В.Захарова: В Москве поддерживают любые усилия, направленные на скорейшее прекращение огня в Ливане, оказание содействия ливанскому народу, нормализацию общерегиональной ситуации. Вместе с тем выбранная французами методология вызывает серьёзные вопросы в отношении того, чем действительно руководствовался Париж, созывая данный форум, – интересами мира в Ливане или публичной демонстрацией своего антироссийского курса?
При этом полностью игнорируется исторический опыт: без России комплекс ближневосточных проблем не решить. Наша страна имеет исторически крепкие и уважительные отношения со всеми странами Ближнего Востока, которые основываются на принципах равноправия и учета взаимных интересов.
Россия играет активную роль в поиске политико-дипломатических развязок конфликтных ситуаций на пространстве БВСА. Последовательный курс нашей страны в пользу отказа от конфронтационности и блокового мышления пользуется доверием и поддержкой региональных игроков. Именно такая логика лежит в основе инициативы Президента Российской Федерации В.В.Путина о создании евразийской системы безопасности.
В связи с этим полагаем, что неприглашение нашей страны на парижскую конференцию, особенно в этот переломный для Ближнего Востока момент, а также в условиях блокировки реальной многосторонней дипломатии, говорит многое о степени искренности и истинной шкале приоритетов Франции, да и других западных стран.
По всей видимости, Парижу важнее продемонстрировать неуважение к России, чем проявить себя ответственным и беспристрастным участником международных отношений, использующим все возможности для установления мира и прекращения страданий гражданского населения на Ближнем Востоке, как это полагается постоянному члену Совета Безопасности ООН. Тем более что российско-французское взаимодействие по широкому спектру вопросов, включая кризисную проблематику в регионе, на протяжении многих лет отличалось интенсивностью и конструктивностью. Не наше решение подорвать это позитивное взаимодействие.

⚡️ О XV Международной цифровой олимпиаде «Волга-IT»
В этом году проходит 15-я Международная цифровая олимпиада «Волга-IT» для школьников и студентов в возрасте от 16 до 23 лет, которые хотят попробовать себя в решении практико-ориентированных задач от ИТ-компаний.
Участникам «Волги-IT» предлагается попробовать свои силы в выполнении ИТ-заданий, составленных на основе реальных примеров. Конкурсантов ожидает интересная образовательная программа: мастер-классы от экспертов в сфере IT, знакомство с передовыми компаниями, экскурсии, общение с единомышленниками.
«Волга-IT» — один из самых масштабных и продолжительных образовательных проектов в сфере информационных технологий, проводится на территории России с 2006 года. За это время участие в нём приняли более 24 тысяч человек из нашей страны и 27 иностранных государств.
💻 15-я Олимпиада «Волга-IT» проходит в три этапа:
• квалификация (онлайн-тестирование);
• полуфинал (выполнение заочного задания по выбранной дисциплине);
• финал (очный заключительный тур в Ульяновске 25-29 ноября 2024 года).

💬 Глубоко обеспокоены эскалацией насилия в Ливане.
Поступают многочисленные сообщения о гибели мирных жителей в результате массированных неизбирательных ударов по жилым густонаселенным районам Бейрута и других ливанских городов со стороны израильских вооруженных сил. Среди убитых и раненых гражданских лиц – большое количество журналистов и сотрудников СМИ.
По имеющейся на данный момент информации, в ночь на 25 октября израильские военно-воздушные силы нанесли авиаудары по жилому сектору города Хасбайя на юге Ливана, в результате чего погибли два сотрудника телеканала «Аль-Маядин» и оператор телеканала «Аль-Манар». Получили ранения и другие представители СМИ, поскольку в момент израильской агрессии в здании находились также съемочные группы телеканалов «Аль-Джадид» и «Аль-Джазира». Недавно израильтянами был атакован офис канала «Аль-Маядин» в Бейруте.
Предельно очевидно, что телеканал «Аль-Маядин» и его сотрудники являются объектом целенаправленных атак. Это является ещё одним наглядным примером стремления израильских военных любой ценой, не гнушаясь никакими средствами и методами, искоренить любые источники альтернативных точек зрения на происходящие в регионе события. Потери среди гражданского населения – а журналисты приравниваются к гражданским лицам – рассматриваются Западным Иерусалимом как некий «сопутствующий ущерб». Напомним, что только на юге Ливана по предварительным данным счёт убитых журналистов за последний год пошел на десятки.
При этом с начала военной операции в Секторе Газа порядка 140 сотрудников СМИ погибли при исполнении своего профессионального долга.
