22 мая специальный представитель Президента Российской Федерации по Ближнему Востоку и странам Африки, заместитель Министра иностранных дел России М.Л.Богданов принял Посла Тунисской Республики Тарака Бен Салема по случаю завершения его миссии в Российской Федерации.

В ходе беседы обсуждался комплекс вопросов поступательного развития традиционно дружественных российско-тунисских отношений, включая углубление политического диалога и наращивание торгово-экономического и гуманитарного сотрудничества.

Т.Бен Салему был вручен нагрудный знак «За взаимодействие» МИД России, которым он награжден за значительный личный вклад в укрепление российско-тунисских связей.

💬 This June 6, we celebrate the 225th birthday of Alexander Pushkin, the great Russian poet. The UN Russian Language Day is observed on the same day.

Russian culture and science created their universally acclaimed masterpieces in the language which served as the mother tongue for Alexander Pushkin and Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ivan Turgenev. The role the Russian language plays in terms of enabling people of various ethnic backgrounds to communicate internationally can hardly be underestimated. Today, over 250 million people speak this language around the world.

The fact that various multilateral structures have designated Russian as their official or working language demonstrates just how relevant it is in today’s world. Russian Language Day has been listed in the UN’s International Days and Weeks calendar as part of the programme to promote multilingualism and cultural diversity.

The Russian language’s broad dissemination around the world, as well as our common past and far-reaching economic and people-to-people ties have come together to create a solid foundation for reinforcing integration processes across the Eurasian space. <...>

🤝 I am convinced that marking Russian Language Day, which is timed to coincide with the jubilee of our great poet, helps promote international cultural and educational cooperation and maintain an atmosphere of friendship and trust among nations.

✍️ #OnThisDay in 1799 the greatest poet, writer, playwright, historian, publicist, creator of the modern Russian literary language Alexander Pushkin was born.

🇷🇺 On June 6, 2011, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on the annual celebration of Russian Language Day in order to “preserve, support and develop the Russian language as a national treasure of the peoples of the Russian Federation, a tool of international communication and an integral part of the cultural and spiritual heritage of world civilization”.

Russian is one of the most popular languages in the world. It is spoken by about 146 million citizens of the Russian Federation and 109 million abroad.

🇷🇺🇸🇻 On June 7, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Vice President of El Salvador Felix Ulloa Garay on the sidelines of the 27th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (#SPIEF2024).

Various aspects of bilateral relations were discussed, with an emphasis on promoting political dialogue and cooperation in international affairs. Further steps to develop cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

🇷🇺🇸🇩 On June 7, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Republic of the Sudan Malik Agar on the sidelines of the 27th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (#SPIEF2024)

The conversation focused on the developments in Sudan with an emphasis on the tasks to settle the ongoing military and political crisis in the country as soon as possible.

☝️ Sergey Lavrov stressed the urgent need to take immediate steps to end hostilities and intensify political and diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace in Sudan. Russia’s principled position in support of the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of the Sudan was reaffirmed.

Some practical issues of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Sudanese relations were also discussed.

Российская Федерация воздержалась по резолюции СБ ООН, продлившей мандаты Мониторинговой группы по санкциям в отношении ИГИЛ и «Аль-Каиды», а также Омбудсмена по делистированию на три года.

👉Мы последовательно поддерживаем действующий санкционный режим 1267. Считаем его одним из наиболее эффективных.

Россия не ставит под сомнение чудовищность любых преступлений сексуального характера. Нет никаких сомнений в том, что если террористы, связанные с ИГИЛ или Аль-Каидой, используют секснасилие в качестве метода достижения своих целей и этому есть доказательства, то Комитет должен принять во внимание эту информацию и действовать соответствующим образом.

Вместе с тем, в последнее время мы являемся свидетелями того, что механизмы ООН в целом и вспомогательные органы СБ используются для злоупотребления санкционным инструментарием. В некоторых случаях имели возможность убедиться в бездоказательных, пропагандистских заявлениях.

❗️Это недопустимо и бьет по авторитету ООН.

Будем жестко противодействовать любым попыткам использовать какие-либо политизированные рычаги для размыва контртеррористической природы Комитета 1267/1989/2253. Продолжим выступать против предлагаемой смены приоритетов, когда вместо реального взаимодействия в борьбе с ИГИЛ, «Аль-Каидой» и связанными с ними тергруппировками фокус внимания смещается в сторону второстепенных вопросов, не имеющих добавленной стоимости непосредственно в контексте противодействия террористической угрозе. Недопустимо автоматически увязывать проблематику сексуального и гендерно-мотивированного насилия с терроризмом.

☝️Твердо убеждены, что случаи, связанные с секснасилием, должны рассматриваться при наличии достоверной информации, а также не могут и не должны быть использованы в качестве самостоятельных критериев для листирования.

🇷🇺🇪🇬 On June 10, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry on the sidelines of the #BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting in Nizhny Novgorod.

During their conversation, the Officials discussed various important aspects of the Middle East agenda, with a particular focus on the current escalation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. They emphasised the urgent need to increase international efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and provide sustainable humanitarian access to the area, ensuring necessary assistance to the population of the Palestinian enclave.

The Ministers also explored ways to further strengthen the traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations, including efforts to maintain political dialogue and advancing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
