Jolla recently introduced a referral program and shares ideas on how the community can help newcomers get started with Sailfish OS or support them with questions such as Android app compatibility. There’s also the possibility to get a referral code if you’d like to promote the Jolla Phone — with it, you can earn yourself a Jolla T-shirt.

Jolla C2 Community Phone Sold Out

Jolla’s Q4/2025 batch of the Jolla C2 Community Phone is now sold out. Due to high memory prices and extended supplier delays, no new batches will be ordered for the time being.

Customers who have already placed orders will receive their devices from the Q4/2025 batch, but should expect delayed delivery. Updates will be posted in the official thread.

Jolla recommends new customers consider pre-ordering the upcoming Jolla Phone, as its mass production nears.

FOSDEM: NewPipe - Porting an Android app to Sailfish OS

Jolla Announces Pre-Order Completion for Jolla Phone

Jolla has announced that pre-orders for the Jolla Phone are now ready to be finalized. The company reported receiving approximately 12'000 pre-orders, which it says have helped bring the project to fruition and move it toward mass production.

Pre-order customers will receive personal payment links via email, which they can use to complete their orders, including selecting a color. Jolla advises customers to finalize their orders by April 30 to secure delivery.

For those without pre-order, it is still possible to reserve a device from a new limited batch of 2'000 units. For this batch, memory and storage upgrades must be added separately, and the estimated delivery is scheduled for the end of September 2026.

Sailfish Community News, 30th April 2026 - May Day Eve

Sailfish OS 5.1 has reached its first release candidate for the Community Beta (CBeta) group. It’s a bigger update with over 1700 changes and will moving towards Early Access for public testing when ready. Translations for Sailfish OS 5.1 are in good shape, with over 20 languages nearly complete. Bluetooth AppSupport is improving well and is close to be ready to be added to the Jolla Store. Under the hood, development continues across system components: networking, UI, Qt6 migration work, WPA3 support, performance improvements, and general fixes.

E-mails for the final payment of the Jolla Phone batches 1–3 have been sent out. Once orders are completed, deliveries are planned for July–August.

The app ecosystem remains active, with a busy Harbour queue and several new or updated apps, including games and tools like the openHAB smart home client.

On June 16 Jolla and Commodore unveiled the privacy-first smart-flip phone Commodore Callback 8020 designed around digital detox, that blocks browsers and social media. Essential messaging apps among others are supported through the Android App Support. Email apps aren't included in their app store to help you avoid the temptation, but they can be side-loaded via the microSD card.

Key specs include a MediaTek Helio G81 SoC, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage + up to 128GB via the microSD slot (32 GB microSD included), 4G VoLTE dual‑SIM, 3.25″ main display + 1.77" secondary screen, a 48 MP rear camera, autofocus front camera, removable 1550 mAh battery, a kill‑switch, SOS/programmable button, swappable covers, headphone jack with earbuds included.

Jolla Phone Day 1 Today in Helsinki and Online

The long awaited D-day for the Jolla Phone 2026 launch is finally here, happening today at 6 PM (5 PM CEST) in Narinkkatori, Helsinki! Those who reserved their tickets along the final payment for the pre-orders may participate the event at the venue proper and get their Jolla phones in hand! For the rest who want to join in the hype, Jolla crew has prepared online lifestreams on both YouTube and Peertube.

Greetings from Kaupinoja Hackday

Recently the Jolla team gathered at Kaupinoja Sauna for a planning day that later turned into a hackday, with plenty of hacking, fixing, and fun.

The Sailfish OS 5.2 update is nearing release. Final improvements and fixes have been completed, with a few small issues still being worked on. Once these are integrated, the update will be ready to roll out to all supported devices.

Sailfish Community News, October 22, 2026 - Community Meeting Stockholm

Jolla’s phone shipments are progressing, with the third batch nearing completion and September orders expected to ship by the end of October. Jolla also recently partnered with CivSec AB to bring Sailfish OS to Sweden’s public safety sector, and held its first "Jolla Phone Roadshow" community event in Stockholm.

Sailfish OS 5.2.0.20 was a bug fix release to the Jolla Phone - other supported devices should get the update soon too. Various community apps continue to receive updates, including voice navigation in OSM Scout and a new Telegram client, YAST Client.
