Firmware update! (an update about firmware)
Because we were late in releasing some firmware files to the public — which left F2 users stranded on SHFW with no way to return to stock — I've gone ahead and processed a first wave of files. These are now available on https://firmware.scooterhacking.org/, its GitHub mirror, and also in-app for ScooterHacking Utility.

Here's a per-model list of newly added firmware:

E-series
• DRV 2.7.2 (Compat)
F-series
• DRV 5.8.14 (Compat)
F2
• BMS 1.2.1
• DRV 1.4.15 (Compat) – thanks to Wally for the base stock file
• DRV 1.7.8 (Compat)
G2
• BMS 1.7.5.7
• DRV 1.7.8 (Compat)
Max
• BMS 1.7.4.5
• DRV 1.8.11 (Compat)
Air T15
• BMS 1.1.7
• DRV 1.1.7

Notes:

- The newly added F2 BMS firmware (1.2.1) may not load due to hardware detection mismatches in ScooterHacking Utility. We're aware of the issue and a fix is on the way.
- BLE firmware files for the F2 series were deliberately left out for now. They differ between F2, F2 Plus, and F2 Pro, and compatibility with newer revision boards is still unclear.

More to come. Thanks for your patience.
ScooterHacking Utility V3 enters Open Beta

Dear users,

After many months, we are thrilled to announce the switch to a public beta for ScooterHacking Utility V3!

This new stage aims to bring the app to a broader audience, gather more general feedback, and smooth out the remaining rough edges.
Warning: This is still a beta version. It is not advertised as end-user ready. If things don’t work as they should, please be constructive and file a bug report on GitHub. You are joining with this understanding in mind. If you’re the type of user who wants a faster scooter just to complain in a non-productive manner, please refrain.

---

This does NOT include SHFW for newer models.

A few things waiting for you in this version:

- Support for Ninebot G3 / F3 / GT3 / ZT3
- A fully dynamic, model-oriented app with more available controls and better compatibility for both new and old vehicles
- On-the-fly updates for vehicle support: the app fetches the latest packages at launch. This means support for a new vehicle—or new controls for an existing one—can be added without an actual app update
- A single app now supports multiple SHFW versions. While only 3.10.1 is currently supported, this gives us greater flexibility and reduces overhead when deploying new versions or platform-specific builds (wink wink)
- No more pairing every time you connect! The app will automatically reconnect to your scooter
- Improved design and user experience
- A large backlog of bugs and known issues has been resolved

Many more details and great changes are built into this new app. When we reach the full release, a complete changelog will be provided.

---

Caveats & FAQ:

- Some deprecated functions have been removed due to major internal changes. These include:
- Legacy CFW Manager
- Automation
- German Maneuver
- Legacy firmware ZIP support

Automation might return in a different form later. If you rely on any of these, the previous app will still be usable.

- The Ninebot E3 is not supported yet due to a lack of testers (and time, to be honest)
- The Ninebot P-series is also not supported yet for the same reasons
- BLE flashing does not work for Ninebot x3 vehicles
- Yes, we know: you can’t do much without flashing unlocked firmware first. For our integrity, this public announcement does not include instructions on how to remove stock restrictions. We’ll let the community work its usual magic here.

Bug Reports:
You can report bugs at: https://scooterhack.in/bugreport
Or create a debug dump from the top-right menu when connected to a scooter.

Fix bad F3 VCU 1.5.6 Compat.zip
57.4 KB
F3/F3 Pro users: important

If you own an F3 or F3 Pro and flashed VCU 1.5.6 Compat from the in-app repo, you may have noticed that your scooter is now stuck on that firmware.
We fucked up, and we are really sorry about that oversight. 🙏

We’ve removed the faulty 1.5.6 Compat from the repo and are releasing an immediate fix.
To resolve the issue, simply flash the attached firmware and your scooter will be back to a working, unlocked VCU 1.5.4 Compat.

Once we’ve corrected the problem, VCU 1.5.6 Compat will be reinstated inside the in-app repo.

Thank you for your patience, and sorry again for the inconvenience caused.

Community Update

Hey everyone

A big update, this one's especially for our German-speaking members.

We just launched ScooterHacking.de, a new Discord home for the German community. There's a lot going on over there: a dedicated space for you, big news about the Utility app, and a launch giveaway you won't want to miss.

🔗 Join us: https://scooterhack.in/shde

Not a German speaker? No worries, nothing changes here. We will make announcements in time due.
Fancy a free Ninebot Max G3?
To celebrate the 5.000 members of our new German speaking community at https://scooterhack.in/shde, we are giving away a Ninebot Max G3D to a lucky winner of Germany or Austria!

The giveaway has now ended.
We are very excited to announce the long awaited release of ScooterHacking V4.

After months of hard work, we are finally releasing the first build of ScooterHacking V4 to the public.
This new app is a total rewrite on a new cross-platform framework. This means ScooterHacking Utility, as of today, is equally available on Windows (10 or 11), Linux, Android and macOS. iOS will shortly follow - we are figuring out the last details for distribution.

In addition to cross-platform compatibility, we are proud to announce the following additions to the app:
- A freshly redesigned user interface with improved user experience
- Improved firmware repo for faster delivery of new versions and clearer sorting
- A new dashboard, with live information readout complemented by a trip recording functionality, to view back your trips inside a fully navigable graph, or export to CSV.
- Updated and improved controls for the tools tab: maintenance operations and settings from newer firmware versions are now available.
- A demo mode, allowing you to explore the app for each supported model.
Alongside other smaller things that you will discover while getting familiar with this new release.

FAQ

Q: What does this mean for older versions of the app?
A: v4 is now the main version of the app. The v3 beta, which used to be separate, still works in case of compatibility issues, but will stop receiving support and updates.

Q: Does this mean we can flash our locked scooter over Bluetooth now?
A: No. As of 13/06/2026, an ST-Link is still required to perform the initial unlock and use the app in its full capacity if your scooter wasn't already unlocked before.

Q: What about SHFW?
A: For x3 models, we have no new announcement to make for now. For other (older) models, v4 is the only app that will receive SHFW updates from now on.

Q: How about compatibility with the Segway app?
A: Just like on the previous app version, using the Segway app in conjunction with the ScooterHacking app may result in a forced update or inconsistencies on shown data or applied settings. We do not guarantee any cross compatibility between ScooterHacking Utility and Segway Mobility.

Final notes:
If you encounter any regression, compatibility issue, or missing feature, please head over to https://github.com/scooterhacking/scooterhacking-issues-public/issues, check if an issue for your case has already been filed, and if not, please file one.

Download the app for your platform on https://utility.cfw.sh. Reminder - iOS is not yet available.

ScooterHacking Utility v4.1 is now available!

A new update of ScooterHacking Utility is now rolling out on all platforms.
iOS is the only exception for now, as it is still pending verification.

Changelog

x3 flashing over BLE is back for select users
A new flashing method is now available, but it requires significant compute power. Members with sufficient activity on our Discord servers can request flashing access for their scooters using /unlock.

We will continue optimizing this process and expanding access over time.

Do you really need to flash, though?
You can now change the region on all x3 scooters without any prior flashing. Yes, you read that right: just change your region in-app and you’re good to go.

Other improvements and fixes

* Added auto-connect to the scan screen
* Fixed an issue where the app would not run on some Android devices, especially older Android versions
* Fixed an issue on Windows where manual installation of the Visual Studio Redistributable was required
* Greatly improved app loading time; the firmware repository now downloads in the background
* Fixed an issue where the app could incorrectly evaluate your vehicle hardware
* Fixed a long write delay affecting some older scooter models
* Added support for Ninebot P-series
* Added a few smaller fixes and improvements

ScooterHacking Utility is now available in your browser

Starting today, you can use ScooterHacking Utility directly from your browser.

Simply visit https://utility.cfw.sh/ and select “Open in browser” to get started.

Browser support requires a Chromium-based browser on all platforms. On iOS, you can use Bluefy from the App Store.

A few notes:

* Browser support is still in beta, so you may encounter some issues. Please report any problems on our issue tracker.
* Browsers have limited storage persistence, so saved trips may not be retained long term.
* The connection flow is slightly different: you’ll need to select your model before selecting your scooter.
* We still recommend using the native app for your platform whenever possible.

Enjoy!
ScooterHacking Utility v4.2 is now available!

ScooterHacking Utility v4.2 is now rolling out across all platforms.

This release introduces the new Workspace experience, brings back automation, expands support for newer vehicles and security features, and includes more than 200 fixes and refinements.

Changelog

A completely redesigned Workspace

The user interface has been rethought to work better across phones, tablets, and computers, while bringing a fresh look to the familiar ScooterHacking Utility experience.

When you connect to a vehicle, the app will now automatically open the new responsive Workspace layout. Prefer the classic layout? You can switch back at any time from the settings.

Settings, now in one place

All app settings have been moved to a dedicated screen, accessible from the top-right corner of both the scan screen and the scooter Workspace.

External firmware ZIP loading has also been moved there, making this advanced feature less prominent and reducing accidental misuse.

Automation is back and better than before

We heard you: automation has returned!

You can now create workflows that run automatically when a scooter connects, or launch them manually using an easily accessible button in the Workspace.

You can choose which actions to run, configure a delay before the workflow starts, and combine automation with scooter auto-connect. Every control from the Tools tab can be added to a workflow, including SHFW profile switching on supported scooters.

Vehicle security settings for G3, F3, ZT3, and GT3

Full support has been added for vehicle security settings on the G3, F3, ZT3, and GT3, including code lock, pattern lock, and AirLock.

AirLock pairing is available exclusively in the native Android and iOS apps. All other security settings are available on every platform.

XTEA support and Ninebot ZIP revision 3.2

Support has been added for the XTEA cipher used by newer x3 MCU and VCU firmware versions.

This release also introduces revision 3.2 of the Ninebot ZIP firmware package format, which is required whenever XTEA is selected as the encryption algorithm for a vehicle. Documentation for this revision will be published soon.

Once the documentation is available, we strongly recommend that modders migrate to revision 3.2 and retire revision 3.1, as encryption is now handled entirely by the app.

E3 and E3 Pro flashing support

Support has been added for the E3 and E3 Pro-specific flashing protocol, allowing the BLE device to be flashed.

Unlocking E3 firmware over Bluetooth is not yet supported.

Other improvements and fixes

• Improved the handling of required power states when connecting to scooters such as the E3, E3 Pro, F2, and G2. These vehicles can connect while in standby but may not return any data in that state.

• Removed the requirement for the client clock to be tightly synchronized through NTP.

• Fixed the scooter name-change function on the E3 and E3 Pro. Users who changed their scooter name during the brief period when this issue was present and can no longer connect should contact a staff member for assistance.

• Fixed a regression that caused newly issued configuration data to take effect only after restarting the app twice.

• Fixed an issue where SHFW transition firmware could be misidentified on Xiaomi scooters, causing user settings to be wiped during an upgrade.

• Fixed more than 200 additional bugs and inconsistencies through expanded unit testing and thorough audits since the previous build.

Many smaller or unusual behaviors that would be difficult to list individually should now be gone. How many other improvements can you spot?
