Selah Ucla “Cancer” stand-up special
Selah was a receptionist at a shitty hostel in Istanbul.
He met some hippies the hippies met him with drugs and that’s how the addiction began.
After years of being an addict, one night Selah prayed to God: “Hey God, help me.”
And God did… just not in the way he expected.
A week later, Selah was diagnosed with cancer.
Lying in a hospital bed, he started to write jokes some born in that white room, some later, when life after cancer didn’t quite make sense.
He realized something: if he ever got out, he would speak the truth with no filters.
“Cancer” is that promise on stage.

SATURDAY, 14 FEBRUARY
CAER is an electric guitar duo gathered around passionate playing. Band’s name [ka-er] comes from the song Suerte Y Aire, from the line “Caer de tu cielos” (“To fall from your heavens”), which should give an idea of all the drama behind their music.
Fluxcedalia (one half of CAER) is a musical project focused on creating improvised guitar soundscapes, inspired by calligraphic techniques and art-punk music.
This evening will also feature a special surprise guest: Hilma Nikolaensen, joining us from Norway with her guitar songs

THURSDAY, 19 FEBRUARY
Hello everyone!
This week, we’ll travel far in time, but not too far across the map, as we dive into the history of Byzantium and the Orthodox world of the Middle Ages.
Like court spies slipping through the gardens of Constantinople, we’ll witness firsthand the rise and fall of the direct and only licensed heir of ancient Rome. We will delve into the theological debates of Eastern Christianity, consider how to survive a riot of sports fans, and preserve refined dignity under pressure from both East and West.
Our journey will not stop at the borders of the empire. We will also observe the rise and flourishing of Byzantium’s spiritual successors: Bulgaria, Serbia, Rus, and Georgia. Amid earthly brutality, intrigue, and splendor, we will encounter the mystical and delicate soul of medieval Orthodoxy.
