MOM's priority is to ensure that our workers are adequately protected from the effects of haze, while supporting employees who may face disruptions to their work and family responsibilities.
Employers should monitor the haze situation, review their workplace safety measures regularly, and exercise flexibility in work and leave arrangements to support employees affected by the haze. Platform operators should continue to advise their workers on precautionary measures and not penalise them for taking longer to complete jobs.
To help employers make decisions on the ground operationally as the haze conditions change, MOM will issue additional advice on how employers can use the 1-hour PM2.5 readings to decide on immediate outdoor activities and measures to be taken.
MOM will continue to work with our tripartite partners to safeguard workers' safety and health.

This complements existing haze guidelines based on the PSI forecast that employers can refer to when planning work arrangements for the following day.
Employers are reminded to stay alert to haze conditions, take appropriate precautions and pay attention to workers who are more vulnerable to the effects of haze. With timely adjustments to work arrangements and the right protective measures, we can better safeguard workers while supporting business continuity.
